    Ride 3/14/12

I'm in. I have my motorcycle endorsement test at 1 though so I may have to be late or leave early. But I should be in either way depending on the plan.
  2. Anyone riding Sunday? Looks like it is gonna be pretty decent weather. I'll put something together or will join someone else if they want to ride a few hours around Central Ohio or Newark/ Coshocton or Hocking.
  3. C'mon guys.....everyone knows you can provide for the family by riding motorcycles.
  4. Just thought I'd see if I could get a few guys together to ride. Probably will go in the Clumbus/ Newark/ Coshocton area. Sounds like it will be more like May than early March.
  5. I've been going crazy wanting to get out but I didn't think it would be warm enough. I was super close to meeting you guys today though. How was it? A little chilly?
  6. OK man. I can go a little later if that would work for you. Let me know either way. I'll PM you my cell number and you can text or call and let me know.
  7. Hutch....I have a few things to do in the AM. How does meeting at KFC at 1pm work for you? If not I can push it to Noon but I can't go any earlier than noon. That will also give it some time to warm up. What do ya think?
  8. High of 62 on Sat. That's not bad....especially for late November.
  9. Yep....I'm down. I was planning on maybe riding both days. I'm on the east side and was planning to ride the Newark/ Coshocton area. I can make a route if you want. Either way I'm definitely down.
  10. Just curious....don't take this as an insult cause it's not. I have a 1997 Kawasaki ZX6-R. It has 29k miles and is well taken care of and maintained. The most I have had offered for it is $2200. I bought it for 19 and have put around $800 into it. I would sell for $2500. What makes this bike worth a thousand dollars + more than mine?
  11. Looking at the weather tomorrow and it's supposed to be gorgeous. I plan to ride either in the morning or the afternoon. The route I'm thinking is KFC in Nerk through 79 North to 541 to 60. That goes all the way to 62 where we head South for less than a mile and then catch 520 to 514. Take 514 to Martinsburg where you catch back up with 62 and I'll take that back to Columbus. It's a great loop and takes maybe three hours. If anyone is down I'll leave Nerk at 9am. If nobody responds I'll just ride in the afternoon when I get done with school at 2. So if I ride in the PM I'll leave Nerk at 3 which will put as back at about 0 dark 30. Let me know fellas. Supposed to be beautiful.
  12. I might be in but I have to get a rear tire also. Metal showing. Depends on if Iron Pony can have me out of there in time.
  13. Riding wednesday around 1pm with Joey614. High is supposed to be 65. Gonna do the Newark and North area. Anyone is invited that wants to come along.

I want it. If I sell my bike before you sell this it's mine. would you consider a deal involving an AR-15 or do you only want cash?
  15. Rode this road today and it is beautiful. The surface is newly paved and squeaky clean. It's a 10 mile stretch and the road was closed in the middle of it but apparently the work is done cause we just slid the signs over and rode right through. A resident nearby said everyone was doing that and the only reason the sign was still up was b/c they didn't have the guardrail up yet. It was even better with the minimal traffic due to the roads being "closed" We road back and forth like 4 times and it was awesome. Some left, then right, then left handers and some really tight turns and elevation changes. I like it better than 520 and we rode that yesterday. Great road if anyone gets a chance to head that way. I;m gonna try to hit it again if the weather holds out any longer.
  16. Is it made for warmth? Like is it a winter jacket?
  17. Yeah me too. It would have been far worse this time. Last time was low speed and could have happened anywhere really. Just a moment of inattention. This time I was all out of shape. Once the rear slid out (partly due to road debris and partly due to braking too late) the bike was going where it wanted to. I was just along for the ride. I know what they mean by the term tank slapper now. Fortunately I was only going 45 to 50 mph. Still....if I had put it down it would have been a mess and meant a winter of rebuilding instead of fine tuning.
  18. Haha....make your butt pucker moment
  19. And I came extremely close to a high side on 60. Back end washed out and then caught and I gathered it up and rode onto the soft berm and about low sided in the grass and gravel.....but rode it away like I do it all the time. Haha I'll chalk it up as a learning experience Me and route 60 don't get along.
  20. I clutched it and revved the engine when we passed your driveway earlier today.
  21. I get out of school at 2 and I'll be riding for sure. I'll text you. I'll probably just head out that way and maybe we can meet up somewhere.

    Sunday 10/23

I didn't feel great and it wouldn't have been safe. That's my bad. Don't know that it needed announced on here but I suppose I deserve it. Ah well. Next two days look nice.

I don't think I have the right GPS. Mapped the route with ridewithgps.com but I could only email it to myself. My GPS isn't Garmin so I couldn't connect with it. Oh well.....least I have the map electronically anyway. : http://ridewithgps.com/routes/782262 You should join us in the AM Habi. Should be a nice ride. Weather oughta hold. 11am at the Shell on 256? I'm hittin the sack. You should roll with us......

    Sunday 10/23

I use Google maps and have it on my android in gps and Google sky (stars and stuff) but tried for route planners and Harley was the first to pop up and it was cut and dry so I went with it. I'll check out the others though. I've seen others rides planned with Google and I don't think Harley's is any worse. But I've never used anything else to plan with.....just checked the map someone else plans the route with Google etc.... So far Harley's route planner lets me plot waypoints, locations, gives me total mileage and gas stops so begrudgingly, I've went with it. Too bad a soft tail and a panhead excite me even less than the website..... That's why I ride a Japanese bike I guess....
