  1. I've owned about every make of bike out there and all where great bikes and I'm glad I owned them. I always wanted A Harley and tried to make the crusiers I had look like them. And I didn't know for a long time that the sportster was a harley because to me it didnt look lke one to me. Well I have a Harley now and I'm glad I didn't give in and settle for less. And as for handling ( Hoblic ) my Fatboy is as nimble as any street bike I ever had even the ones that were smaller than 750cc. Thats not to say that it's not heavier so its a different kinda feel than a smaller bike but nimble just the same. So AKIRA get you a Harley and enjoy it, I know you will.
  2. Get your Harley and enjoy riding, and ride a lot!
  3. I know that feeling, I got one of those face masks that cover your nose mouth and chin after my first ride under 20 degrees. Would like to get some heated gear but wow they think heat tape/trace is gold sheathed or something.
  4. Rode yesterday Sunday 12/23/12 it was a good ride. Left about noon and didn't get home until about 9:00pm. Seems like to me that when the weather gets cold her in the Cincinnati area the roads all of a sudden get water leaks from some where, they are normally dry in the summer months though. If you do ride remember this when it gets cold enough to freeze the water.
  5. I ride every chance I get, work makes a lot of riding for me limited to the weekends (second shift). This is my second year here in the Cincinnati Area to be riding. In the warmer season there are more new bikes every year seems like. I say bikes because most of the time the pass is not long enough to really see who you just passed. But the bike now I can remember the colors or the fairing or the tires or sissy bar, or the sound of the bike something about it because it looks/sounds the same for the most part every time I see the bike. But I'm seeing the same bikes that I saw last year during the cold season. And there are very few of us braving the cold looks like, but I guess we are bike lovers for sure. See you on the road.
  6. In Cincinnati Ohio on RTE. 52 just past the International Friendship Park there is a red light after that you come to an underpass that is the middle of a 90degree or (S) curve all of that has water running across both directions of the road, I'm not sure of the name of that little community there but it is right before you get to the FUEL Coffee Shop.
  7. Get yourself a good set of coveralls carhart preferably and you'll be fine.
  8. I will display mine proudly, when I get it that is. Thanks abdecal.
  9. saddleman bags I got mine at Cycle Specialties brand new and at a good price (cheaper than some wanted for used on Craigslist)
  10. I have to agree with Serpentracer about the Western hills store, I ordered a set of ghost mounting brackets for my saddle bags and when I got them the box had been opened and one of them I swear was used. It had dents on the lock where the key goes in and works with force, and some of the wrinkle paint was scuffed looked like from shipping but maybe mounting I couldn't be for sure. They would not fit like I was told they would without moving my rear turn signals. Well where I work there are lathes and mills and a few welders, so with much work removing fender and supports and measuring, measure twice drill and mill once I got them on without moving my rear turn signals. While there ordering the brackets, I asked one of the salesmen about tire mounting and not scratching the chrome rims, he said (huh) you have to ask the guys that do that about how they do it...... I guess the short temper evil eye I gave him caused him to respond a second time with oh no sir they don't scratch the rims they use plastic tools for that and we have many satisfied customers he said with a smile this time. Well I was skeptical about that and after getting my brackets I wouldn't let them change my tires either.
  11. I'm with Simplysix weather permitting I'll be there.
  12. Thortons gas stations are the only ones I have had trouble with around the Cincinnati Ohio area, my bike felt like I was pulling another one just like it behind me. I tried it in my truck just to see if it was the gas and the same effect there too. So I avoid the Thortons gas and all is well.
  13. Thanks for the welcome everyone. Serpentracer we are neighbors, and I do ride in Ky. I take the Anderson ferry across the Ohio and that is my start point most of the time. And I agree Ky takes better care of there roads than Ohio for sure!
