  1. Thank you. It's a lot fun. Needed something calmer for tooling around town. The 1098 is great on back roads, sucks hard around town.
  2. My bike was nominated for Bike of the Month on Do the Ton. I'd greatly appreciate any votes that you guys would be willing to give. You will have to register to vote though. Thanks in advance! http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=74968.0
  3. I'm a huge stalker....... I mean fan of Duhamel!
  4. For reference, here are some actual pictures. I'm amazed at how much detail this little bike has.
  5. My husband bought me this custom clay replica for my birthday. It's an extremely detailed replica of my racing setup from back in the day including bike, leathers, helmet, gloves and such. It's amazing how detailed and accurate it is. It's honestly probably one of the coolest gifts I've ever gotten.
  6. Where are you able to check for prior violations? What website? Thanks.
  7. Ha! Ha! I'm so happy I post this stuff. We are trying for another 3 day this weekend or next and I couldn't remember where we stayed and which roads we liked but now I do!
  8. 56 is open. It is a dirty mess at the 356 intersection so I would definitely take it easy. Just rode it this past Friday and Saturday.
  9. Ed and I rented one of those in Florida and we liked it. Much better seating position than the V Rod which we also rented in Ohio but hated. Congrats!
  10. Thanks for the info. That will definitely change my normal route.
  11. Well, sadly, we apparently have a few more kinks to work out. Only made it about 4 miles on Saturday then had to do the trailer ride of shame. It was fun to ride though. Neat and very different than my other bike. The kick start is kind of cool too. Battery won't hold a charge or something related to that. Looking at relay/regulator, maybe stater. We will see.
  12. They just repaved those recently right?
  13. I haven't been down in that area is ages. 255 used to be fun then the pavement went to crap. Has it improved? Has the fracking traffic decreased?
  14. I live near Island Rd. Where are you at?
  15. My husband and I decided we needed some more laid back bikes for around town. Last year he finished his project Moto Guzzi and he's been working on my bike this year. It's a 1980 Yamaha XS400. We still have a lot to do on it, but it's getting closer. We are hoping to have it at least functional enough to ride to the Mods vs Rockers event on Saturday. My husband took it down to the frame and manufactured a lot of the parts by himself. I'm really happy with how it's coming together and looking forward to riding it. He has a build thread over here http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=73622.0
  16. Except I'm clearly directionally challenged! It's east on 550. I've done it so many times, I just know where to go!
  17. Oops. I meant west on 78. Have a good trip!
  18. This is good but I'd pick up 78 at McConnelsville and go east. That part is freshly paved and a wicked ride. If you do take 377 all the way down, you need to pick up 550 west at Sharpsburg? There's a combination head shop, gas station and post office on the corner and no I didn't make that up. But anyway go on 550 for about 2 or 3 miles and then turn around. That little section there is ridiculously fun. Your original route has some fun areas as well but I'd save them for after school is back in session and for a weekday. Lots of tourist traffic in Hocking right now.
  19. Love that route. I'm jealous. I take the turnpike to work, LOL!
  20. I still remember riding my moped when I was 14 and can't believe my parents let me do it! I will definitely be riding with them for quite a while before they have freedom to go by themselves like I did. I feel your pain!
  21. Welcome! Glad to hear about the gear. If you haven't already, take the MSF course. My kids will both have mopeds as soon as they turn 14 and street bikes at 16 so no judgement here. Although I doubt I will let them ride without me for a long while. Stay safe.
