  1. We stare at a government-managed unemployment rate - one percentage figure - as the bellweather for the entire economy. If you look at that, Obama has failed to do the things he promised in his first term.

If you want to give him a bye, then look - as I just did thru an "all officers' meeting" my company had this morning at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, kicking off the United Way season for us - at the poverty rates across Central Ohio and the 15 metropolitan "benchmarks" the United Way uses as a measurement. Compared to Cleveland, Indy, Charlotte, Austin, etc...Columbus has the highest poverty rate. It's not even in City of Columbus proper; in Hilliard, Pickerington, Dublin, and Worthington, households living under the poverty line ($32k a year) has gone from 4%-6% 4 years ago to 20%-26% currently.

The economy still sucks, and continues to spiral out of control. As president, it's Obama's fault, and he needs to go. If you want to give him another 4 years, you're looking failure dead in the face and saying it's OK.

I say BOLLOCKS to your "New Normal" :thumbdown

Guys, I hear you on Ron Paul, Herman Cain, etc...I love a "Fair Tax" more than the next guy. I truly have faith that Romney will do far more than Obama to fix our problems.

i say give him another 4 years, because it the economy can, and will fail again, and probably during his next term. then we can place the blame squarely on him.

  2. I know I am a newbie.. but I just want to put in my 2 cents. I am gainfully employed but I do not owe anyone anything. 20 years ago I was making 15K and after 2 years had 10K in the bank. I just got a car from my father when I left home. I worked in customer service until I could earn a degree that would pay what I wanted. I worked my way through college by finding a company that would reimburse me for college classes. I have never had debt except when I bought a house. then I paid it off in 10 years. I always pay cash for my cars and owe nothing. I didnt do it with government assistance and if the economy goes in the tank I could work at Walmart to feed myself and family. Anyone can do it. If I need health ins I would look for an employer who would pay for it. I would pick a job that is in demand and go to school. My father worked at the old GM plant for years. Made much more money in a year than I have yet to make in a year and has 0 to show for it and is on SS and medicare with a pension. That will never be me. I dont want to pay for someone who has not learned to plan their life by raising my taxes. I give a lot to charity and homeless because that is what God wants us to do. He never said for the Government to take care of the poor, he said it was for us to do.

Sounds like you have your shit together, good job for you. If there were more people like you who took pride in personal responsibility, we would be better off as a whole.

  3. Inflation is at 1.7% it was 4.1% in 2007. What's more, are you talking about the supposed impact of quantitative easing? The action taken by the independent Federal Reserve who has complete autonomy from the presidency?? Tell me more about how much you know.

Inflation @ 1.7%, but far less velocity now, than in 2007. Read up on the quantity theory of money. Holding constant what the fed is doing right now, if people started actually spending money, we would be fukked with inflation.

And I lol hard about bill clinton going on commercials, stumping for obama, claiming obama didn't start this mess. The lollerific part is that clintons policies, paired with the cheap money that alan greenspan was slinging, was probably the precursor to this entire jamb we are in right now. No one even acknowledges it, or knows to look back that far.

  4. I miss the Mexicans who used to work the Chipotle by Walmart in Reynoldsburg. They could wrap a burrito like nobody's business. Uppity white folk in there now don't know how to handle that shit.

Not to go far off topic, but if you think this is bad, avoid the new albany location.

Its staffed by 17-24 yr old kids who were born in new albany. Entitled little pricks.

  5. the 47% thing is so sad.

if you listen to it, most of it is true. he talks about 47% of people relying on type of govt aid, (close to being a fact), and goes on to talk about personal accountability.

why is it wrong to talk about this sort of thing? i am not even in support of romney, but what is the taboo about being responsible for yourself with no government intervention? i am disgusted that politicians have to even cater toward these type of people who feel entitled to everything under the sun, just because they exist as part of this country.

  6. I'll look into the cayene s. I've been searching hard for an 05-06 v8 Touareg with the teak leather interior for the wife. I've barely had any success bc the ones I find are in the wrong exterior color and when I do find one I like then the interior is rough :(

Reason I'm lookin at the 05-06 ones bc that's when they still were belt driven. 07-up v8's became chain driven and I heard that can get real pricey to maintain

Wouldn't the belt/chain thing be the opposite? Chain = cheap, belt = spensive?

and +1 on the diesel version, although I have looked and they are scarce.
