just got back myself. Thanks for showing me some great routes. The straight shot back to cleveland at the end was more tiring than the entire day of riding. We will have to meet up and ride again.
-
jbot, I have all afternoon to kill....just have to head to Avon tomorrow night.
-
So whats a good route from west cleveland (middleburg hts) to canfield? 80 would easily be the fastest, but I'm looking for something less boring. Katana, I wouldnt mind meeting up on your way south from Painesville.
-
I'm interested, dont really know any fun roads and would love to take a decent ride. edit....guess it doesnt show my location, I'm out of cleveland, but I wouldnt mind riding to meet up if you guys were interested in heading into PA

Why? Other than to get away from his shitty driving, but then he would have had a real reason to pull me over. he said he couldnt find my plate in the system...aka he had no reason. Hell, he had no reason to run my plate in the first place. The whole idea that cops are allowed to use electronics while driving is insane, if its judged unsafe for everyone, it shouldnt be differentiated for LEO.
-
nope, no ticket or warning or anything....no reason to ticket, I saw him first and it was in traffic the whole time after. He didnt even have a real reason for pulling me over. Would anything actually happen if I did file a complaint? (besides him and his buddies knowing I filed a complaint) There was no accident, this all happened at low speeds at most of 30 or so, and I doubt you even have a way to tell if he signaled when pulling out.

I'll give the quick version so not to bore anyone Cop has person pulled over on onramp....both merge onto the road with no signal, I slow for front car, cop merges in right beside me. Cop doesnt pay attention to how slow traffic is going, I match speed to merge in, he doesnt; I merge quickly to avoid being rear ended. Cop finally lights up after following me on the offramp and through 2 turns. I signal and turn off into parking lot....once again, he fails to slow down and gets uncomfortably close and almost misses the turn completely. I just bit my tongue to avoid ruffling feathers. The more I think about it, I regret not saying something to him about it.

cut down tall straight tree, cut it into smaller logs, place logs under box, roll box till trailing log comes out, move rear log too front...repeat
-
depending on how loose the gravel is it may become a plow haha actually if you could cut a chunk of 2x4 as wide as the dolly and place it under the box on the tongue of the dolly, I'd think this would work without displacing much gravel at all once you get to the harder surface you can throw the wheel dollies under the trailing side to avoid marking the surface
-
use the straps to secure the dolly on the front side of the box. Throw the 4x4 on top of the box(may want to screw it on) right in front of the dolly so it spans the bars. Use another strap to loop around the 4x4 and go through the dolly....attach it to a hitch or the tow loop on a car. Slowly drag the box. you could skip the 4x4 if you really dont care about damaging the dolly....just strap directly to it at a height slightly above the box.

http://labcast.media.mit.edu/?p=213 Its not the cost of 3d printers that is the problem; the prices have dropped drastically over the past few years, its the throughput of building materials in this manner. I really dont like the comparison to movable type....movable type is a way to increase throughput and precision, this is a means of increasing product specialization.

Mushroom looking patch-plugs are great. Used to get newish tires with holes in the from a shop...throw a patch-plug in it and ride like it was new.

Way too fast on a back road that I had only been on a couple times. Saw a couple rocks on the road and fixated on them, didnt lose it immediately but shot across the road and hit the guard rail @ I'd guess 40-50. Bike totaled, had helmet, backpack, jeans and gloves on. Both arms messed up, and jeans ground through. Nice girl saw me outside looking at the bike after it was towed to campus and offered to help me clean up my rash. Ended up going to the ER about 8 hours later cause I towed the bike back to my parents place to tear it down and my mother flipped out.

People can be fucking idiots. Someone who pulls that type of shit needs to be charged with attempted murder. Its one thing to have an accident, its another to purposely try to hit someone with a car. Its no different than seeing someone walking along the road and running them over. I had a drunk driver try to kill me with his car. It was in a 35 zone while riding with a group. I was last bike in the group and the guy claimed I pulled out in front of him(not even close to true, he was doing about 70 and just rounded the corner as I was pulling out). I didnt expect what was about to happen, so I stayed at the back of the group... the car flew up beside me and jacked his emergency brake, swerved back into the right lane in an attempt to hit my rear tire. Luckily I was still in 1st or 2nd and jumped on the thottle just enough to avoid being hit. I got up between the next two riders and at this point everyone realizes what is happening and we cut into an gas station. The dumbass flys in and pulls an e-brake slide to a stop, jumps out of his car and starts screaming like he is going to and walking over to my bike. I think reality crept into the guys head, because about 5 feet away he stopped, turned around and left in a bunch of tire smoke. Before we could say anything the attendant at gas station was already calling the cops. About 15 minutes later he was in cuffs and in a police car. Told the cops the color and model of the car and which direction he came from and left toward and they knew exactly who he was...his license was already suspended from his last DUI. If I was old enough at the time to have my CCW, I dont think he would have made it to 5 feet before he would have stopped or I would have stopped him.

I picked up a shinko 009 raven on the rear and an 005 advance up front...so far I like it. My bikes a 600 and I can feel the tire start to spin up when accelerating out of a turn while still leaned in. I'll be getting another set if they get good mileage.
-
I think I sent you a PM, but it's not in my outbox. Interested in the bike.

After a few more rides I can say the sounds gone. I cant tell you if it was changing the front wheel, going over the rotors with 600 grit, or just dumb luck. I'd lean toward going taking the glaze off the rotors with some 600+ grit sandpaper since its the easiest to do....hell you dont even need to take calipers off.
-
Calipers were pretty clean so I scuffed up the rotors lightly with 600 grit(finest HD had) and the sound is gone as far as I can tell.
-
I already have the rotors off because I was switching rims over, so I'll pick up some fine grit sandpaper go over them.
-
The sound was a split second squeal on every rotation, only noticeable at really slow speeds while coasting or when spinning the wheel while on a stand. I'll pull the pads and clean everything up and see how it works out.
-
I've noticed an intermittent noise coming from my front end. First thought was warped rotors or bad bearing. I tested the runout on both rotors and I'm well within the service range. One was +/-2.5 thousandths and the other was dead nuts on. The sound went away the moment the calipers were pulled, so its not the bearings. I think its more of an annoyance than anything else at this point. Havent felt any pulsing of be front brake or anything like that. I didnt check what type of pads were on the bike, maybe that is the culprit. Anyone deal with this before?
-
Well, looks like I won't be riding this weekend. Went to change my wheels over to my 01's with fresh rubber and realized the front axle is different. Have to grab a bolt and a couple nuts to make an adapter. Think I have warped rotor as well, woohoo. It's not enough to make the brakes pulsate, but just enough to make a rubbing sound intermittently. I'll have to check to see if the brake is floating freely tomorrow, it was getting too dark tonight.

I was checking out google maps and spotted some nice stretches near Brecksville, but I havent made my way out there yet. Meadows Drive looks interesting.

short and fat, lol 5' 7" and around 210 Tried on a size 44/54 A* CR suit...lower body felt great, too bad I couldnt zip it up. Knew from the measurements I've seen it probably wouldn't fit my waist right now. Wish they had a 46 to try on. Tried on the speed and strength twist of fate in 48 and I really didnt like the fit...a back protector would probably have helped, but it was just loose all over and felt like it was a foot taller than I need. Attempted to try on the 46 and I couldnt even get it over my thighs. Wasnt a total loss though, picked up some SMX 5 boots along with a pair of GP plus gloves(AYC). Funny thing is, I have a pair of used SMX plus boots on their way. The 5's were just so comfortable I didnt want to take them off. Figure I'll wear 5's anytime I plan to do any walking. I plan on checking out Ledges on the 28th. Would have liked to take part in the track day, but I'd rather come check out the track and everything first. I guess I forgot to mention, I've never been to a track let alone been on one.
