  1. Had been thinking about the Versys when I bought my Z. Wouldn't mind having one as a second bike but doubt the wife would approve
  2. I took a little trip to Big Rock in Maysville KY yesterday on my Honda Rancher 420 4x4. They have a bunch of new trails and I rode around for a few hours. I was by myself so I didn't attempt any questionable trails. I took some video with my GoPro mounted on my helmet but I had it pointed a bit too low so they didn't come out too great. One thing I noticed is that on video, steep hills don't look so steep because you don't have the same point of reference to the horizon to determine what's level.
  3. It's about time someone was honest.
  4. Seemed to work out pretty good for him though
  5. crb, find you an inexpensive laptop that meets your computing needs and drop an SSD in there. I don't think you need a toughbook or similar...what's the worst that happens in the truck, it falls off the seat? That shouldn't harm any of the components except a hard drive unless the computer is very poorly built.
  6. Cinci just lifted the PB ban here...I have 3 dogs already though. Hope you find a good home for the pup!
  7. Different Arai models have different shaped shells so when looking at Arai's, try all the models. They are bit different from most makers.
  8. I'd be happy to get 75% of that from the PR3's I'm going to put on.
  9. I had thoughts about putting some painters tape over the holes in the vented back to take the edge off the wind noise and abate it some. Maybe a couple of layers. Maybe give that a shot.
  10. I've edited 2 vids I took with my GoPro HD Hero 2 on my Macbook Pro with iMovie no problem. No conversion needed. iMovie is very intuitive and easy to use but is powerful enough to do neat effects, etc. I know a guy who does wedding videos/photos for a living and uses only iMovie (for the vids). I use Final Cut Pro X on my Hackintosh which is a little less user firendly but extremely powerful with support for add-ons. A lot of professionals use Final Cut Pro.
  11. Just about any laptop can put up with that - it's the hard drive that is very susceptible to bumps and movement. Get a laptop with an SSD (or add one yourself) and no worries. Hard drives are like records with a needle suspended above platters spinning at 5400 or 7200 RPM depending on the model. One hard bump and the needle crashes into the disks. Not good. SSDs have no moving parts so are virtually shock (physical) proof. EDIT - the whole reason I built a hackintosh desktop (essential a Mac Pro) was for video editing. IMO Apple's video editing software is the shit.
  12. Apple WWDC next week and expected to announce new macbooks. That means price drops on existing models. Don't forget to check Apple's refurbed models. I mostly use a PC for a desktop (I have a hackintosh I built) but for laptop, I won't own anything but a Mac.
  13. A man who'd just died was delivered to the local mortuary wearing an expensive, expertly tailored black suit. The female, Blonde mortician asked the deceased's wife how she'd like the body dressed and pointed out that he looked good in the black suit he was wearing. The widow, however, said she always thought her husband looked his best in blue and she wanted him in a blue suit. She then gave the Blonde mortician a blank check saying, "I don't care what it costs, please have my husband in a blue suit for the viewing." When the woman returned the next day for the wake, she was pleased to see her spouse was dressed in a handsome blue suit with subtle chalk stripe. And the suit fit perfectly. The new widow said, "Whatever this cost, I'm very satisfied. You did an excellent job, and I'm very grateful. How much did you spend?" To her surprise, the Blonde mortician returned the blank check saying, "There's no charge." "No, really, I must compensate you for the cost of that exquisite blue suit." "Honestly, ma'am, it cost nothing. You see, a deceased gentleman of about your husband's size was brought in shortly after you left yesterday. He was wearing an an attractive blue suit. I asked his wife if she minded him going to his grave wearing a black suit instead. She said it made no difference, as long as he looked nice. So, I switched heads."
  14. ^^^this No one app is perfect but MSE is free, integrates nicely, is low on resource demand and works very well.
  15. LOL...rep to you good sir
  16. Talked to sporttour and they do install/balance, etc. Best of all, their tire prices are better than I can even find online although with tax it at least matches the better prices I can find online.

  21. An apt title for the thread. You know what they say, even duct tape doesn't fix stupid.
