    CL Scam

FYI in case anyone was trolling CL in Cbus for bikes- contacted them about the bike - total scam by sleazy douchebags. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcd/3067455024.html Response to my inquiry: Being that my son is in the Army and about ready to ship out to Afghanistan, it especially pisses me off.
  2. I rode the K1200R back when there was a BMW dealer in Cinci. They allowed demo rides on all of their bikes. Handed me the keys and said 'just bring it back sometime today. If you need gas, fill it up and bring us the receipt and we'll cover it" My impressions (I owned an FZ1 at the time)...very smooth and powerful but felt heavy to me. Because of the way the suspension is, I never felt like the front wheel was in jeopardy of coming off the ground so never really got that oh shit feeling I got on the FZ1 when I rolled on hard at lower gears. Here's a 1200 in AZ http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=796287
  3. Never saw one of those before...what does such a device cost?
  4. +1 on both accounts. That carwash is about 3 miles from my house. I should go there tonight and try my luck with the weather
  5. Of the 75% of songs I actually knew, I can play maybe half of them (not the whole songs, but the main riffs).
  6. If anyone in the cinci area is interested in having shirts shipped to one location locally to save shipping costs, let me know.
  7. Looks like a good way to get an anal probe sans lube
  8. You forgot the other two rules - never be first, never be last.

Signs don't mean shit if they're negligent. If a skate park puts up a sign that says "skate at your own risk" and there's a broken rail that casues a kid to fall and break their arm, the part is liable because they were negligent in not taking steps to keep the park safe. There's implied responsibility of the shop proprieter to safeguard items left in their keep. The extent of that is debatable and where the legal gray areas come into play. Being that (it sounds like) this has happened in the past, they will have to demonstrate that they took steps to mitigate future occurrences and/or carry sufficient insurance coverage.

When I read the OP, I was thinking someone is about to have a fire Uhm, no. A) The kid doesn't know baby shit from applebutter...I wouldn't talk to anyone there but the owner. B) If they have no insurance THEY'RE screwed. There's this thing called negligence...like not have the keys secured, not carrying insurance to cover their customers, etc. Lawyers eat that shit up. They make good or they find themselves in court. The bad news is, if you have to sue them, likely the attorney fees will outpace any restitution you receive so the only "win" you may get is a moral victory. Do your homework and talk to other (reputable) shops to see if they are required to carry insurace, what types, and what due diligence they perform to mitigate loss through theft (i.e. securing of keys, alarm system, etc.). If you do have to go to an attorney, the more info you are armed with, the better case you have and the less leg work they have to do (i.e. - lower fess for you).
  11. Where do you normally ride? Been thinking of maybe picking up a DR650 or DRZ400. Seems like any place I'm aware of worth riding is nearly 2 hours or more away.
  12. Yeah, it's getting pretty lame. The worst is when people spout off about something (i.e. why does happen to me???) and give no clue or reference as to what it's about. FB is the attention whore's dream. I'm tired of the "inspirational" quotes, pitcures of the temp display in the car, pictures of whatever food you are stuffing in your face, the fact that you are going to work, the fact that you are at work and hating it, etc, etc, etc. [/rant] Only reason I stay active on it is to keep up with my family in NY whom I don't get to see very often. I find Twitter to be a much more useful tool for keeping up with companies/entities I am interested in.
  13. Thank you sir, enjoy the SSD!
  14. There are a lot of utilities that will do it (try Google)...be prepared to let it them for up to a few days depending on the size/speed of the drive.
  15. See my sig. I don't actually work there, just own a share of the business (long story how that came to be). Mostly a tax write-off...dive shops in the middle of the country tend not to be cash cows
  16. Obviously with my username, I'm a scuba diver. Yet another (potentially) dangerous and expensive hobby for me. I'm curious as to who else on here is an avid diver and where you like to dive? I'm actually part owner of Cincinnati Dive Center and we coordinate a handful of dive trips a year. I'm headed to BVI next month..can't wait.

  18. We may have crossed paths then...you might have seen me riding the shoulder from before 74 I live off the Harrison/Rybolt exit.
  19. Mushkin drive sold to Fox_Racing_Guy. Thankee Sai.
  20. Did I mention how much I hate riding in the rain So far no hail here but they are expecting some areas to get a good amount of hail. That would really suck on a bike.
  21. Left work a little early because I saw a big storm was approaching. Of course 75N was frickin' parking lot out of downtown. I sat in it a bit, in full gear, sweating my ass off. I finally said fuck it and rode the shoulder between Ezzard Charles and Hopple street. A few people beeped at me but fuck 'em I was HOT and i knew the storm was coming. By the time I reached North Bend Rd on I74 the wind was so bad I could barely maintain my lane and debris was blowing everywhere. I WISH I had my GoPro going at the time. It looked very dicey and probably would have made for some interesting video. I made it home about 10 mins before the lightening and deluge. Phew! It's hitting a good portion of OH so watch out!
  22. Spoofing a MAC address is easier than breaking the WEP or WPA encryption. It keeps honest people honest and that's about it. That said, I still use it
