This is live on their website now...I ordered a full rear wheel complete with cush hub (in red), sprocket and rotor for $429 shipped. Use coupon code "warp9bf2016" for 20% off rear and/or front wheel (check my link above, there are some restrictions). Should be available through Dec. http://www.warp9racing.com/product/mx-wheels/

Amazon has their newest Kindle Fire HD8 on sale for $60! I bought one of these for $90 a few months ago when they came out and I primarily use it as a Kindle for reading but it's essentially an Android tablet (Amazon customized). Don't bother with the 32GB, you can put a micro SD card in there if you need additional storage which is cheaper than the difference in price ($30) for an additional 16GB. https://www.amazon.com/All-New-Amazon-Fire-HD-8-8-Inch-Tablet-8GB/dp/B018T075DC

Hmmm...I've never heard of them but I'm admittedly not well schooled in firearms in general. I know how to operate and maintain the ones I have and my knowledge goes downhill after that. My son is in the army and knows a lot so I bounce stuff off him from time to time. They sound really nice...likely not something I can hold and/or go shoot locally to try it

Relevant... http://gizmodo.com/scientists-discover-why-diet-coke-is-probably-undermini-1789292082 Still better than drinks with sugar IMO...I try to drink water or unsweetened tea most of the time though I do drink Coke Zero here and there. This article specifically calls out aspartame, not sure how the other artificial sweeteners compare. If you are curious what your favorite diet soda is sweetened with (not a comprehensive list) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diet_drink

True...hit the weights, convert those excess calories to muscle

I did that once when we were riding along the water before we got to the dragon. I thought the dude was going to stop thinking I was signaling that he had a problem. Doh.
-
That's exactly right...everyone has to find what works for them. Oh, I forgot...ya gotta lay off the sauce too. I'm not a big drinker so that's easy for me.

Not too hard actually. Example, my meal plan today (yes, I weigh my food): Breakfast sandwhich at work which is an egg, turkey sausage on a whole wheat muffin. - 230 calories Lunch - Romaine and Kale chicken ceasar salad with apple at Panera - 610 calories Snack - almonds (28g) - 180 calories, Danon lit & fit yogurt 70 calories Dinner - 8oz tuna steak grilled (360), 300g baked potato plain (220), baby carrots (35) Total = 1705 Gives me some wiggle room so maybe I'll add some butter to my potato or eat some extra almonds. That's a pretty filling menu for the day. The key is to eat a lot of protein and fiber which keep you full longer. @2talltim I eat the fiber gummies too

Tim, men generally should not consume less than 1500 calories per day. You are a big guy (regardless of your bodyfat %) so I would absolutely stay above that number. If not, you'll slow your metabolism down and your body will become catabolic and eat away at your muscles - and that's not the weight you want to lose. I want to see you reach your goals and keep it off long term. I'm still eating 1800-2200 a day, and a bit more here and there when special circumstances come up and I've been very consistent in my exercise regimen though my long walks and short runs are over for a while as I'm pretty sure my left Achilles is torn (I see the doc tomorrow). I'm down 92 lbs as of yesterday.I spent over a month not losing or gaining (thanks to a couple of vacations) and now it's starting to come off again. My body is like "are you serious with this? Yep, I guess so....let's move it". I've been lifting A LOT so some fat loss is hopefully being off-set by muscle. I've gone from a waist size 48-50 (depending on the pant) and now I'm more or less a 40 (depending on the pant). The "bad" news is, I'm going to have to go back through my closet and get rid of more clothes...they are all getting too big for me. I'm trying to hold off buying too many new clothes because I aim to lose another 30-40 lbs. I bought some new clothes recently that are more my "new" size and more athletic cut. Suddenly people at work were like, holy cow you lost serious weight and you've been hitting the weights too! The clothes were so baggy on me that few people noticed before. I've actually had two different very attractive women hit on me in the last few weeks which hasn't happened in a while. One at the gym and one when I was at lunch with some co-workers. That's always good motivation
-
I really need to invest in a good shotgun too for that very reason.
-
I thought I was but maybe not. I haven't gotten anything. I bought an M4 there and we bought our safe there.
-
Yes sir...I live just down the street near where Pfeiffer intersects Deerfield. They wouldn't disclose the pricing but he indicated it'd be a good sale.
-
Yep..I should also probably think about how much add-ons are for each manufacturer - probably commensurate with the price of the weapon in relation to others.
-
I know the shop up the street from me is going to have a big BF sale on S&W...I might have a look at the M&P. Looking around the web, there aren't many models from the mainstream manufacturers that would be considered bad. I'm just going to have to go shoot a bunch and see what feels best. I'm not too concerned about longevity in terms of # of rounds fired which seems to be the biggest selling point of the more expensive options. I don't shoot a ton...I should do more but competing interests and all.
-
Post and good deals you come across for whatever...BF is coming up and there should be some good deals to be had but feel free to post up deals in general ongoing you think people would be interested in. Today, Amazon has discounted a bunch of Gerber products today - knives, multi-tools, survival items, etc. FYI - I have no vested interest in this (i.e. I get no benefit if you buy). https://www.amazon.com/s/browse/ref=gbps_tit_s-3_bb19_0aa793e4?ie=UTF8&node=12766668011&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=41fd713f-6bfe-4299-a021-d2b94872bb19&pf_rd_s=slot-3&pf_rd_t=701&pf_rd_i=gb_main&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=A4ZKVDTF1VZ1PSPTGX52

Nice...longer barrel than many, probably part of the reason. I'll check 'em out 'tis the season

Now that the bikes are put away... Between the wife and I, we have 4 different 9mm pistols..few Glocks, Kel-Tec and a SIG P229. I had stuck with 9mm because the ammo is cheaper than the larger calibers so I figured I'd get more practice in. Now that ammo prices have come back down a bit, I've been thinking about picking up a .45 for the house, no C&C with it so a full size pistol. I want a little variety and having some extra stopping power won't hurt. I'm not a fan of 1911's and I haven't handled many of the different .45 models. I've shot a Glock 21 (Gen 4)...it was OK, it's a Glock. I have two, I'd like to get something different. I also used an H&K HK45 which was super nice, very balanced, little recoil. Both were range rentals at a Cincinnati gun shop. While I really liked the H&K, it's >$1000 (maybe closer to $1200, haven't seen one at the local shop yet) so there's that. I stopped in the shop up the street from my house and handled a few that they had - Springfield XDm - Felt nice, I wasn't been a big fan of the trigger pull on them (I fired a 9mm in my C&C class that another guy in the class had). Beretta PX4 Storm - One sexy pistol, seemed very light. The back strap that was on there was a little big for my hand to comfortably reach the mag eject and slide release so it was hard to get a feel for it. I don't know a lot about Beretta's. Being light, it may have more kick but it has a rotating barrell which is supposed to offset the recoil. Seems like it'd wear easy if not kept super clean. They were busy and I didn't want to take up the guy's time "window shopping" so I didn't check out any others but they had S&W M&P's, a Taurus (not sure which model) and some Rugers (again, didn't check the models). They didn't have the SIG P220 which is probably a lot like my P229 that I'm fond of (again >$1k) nor the H&K which I already know I like but I can nearly get 2 of the less expensive ones for the price. Still, these both carry a premium for a reason. I can afford either, just don't care to spend a lot extra unnecessarily. Long story short, I know we have a lot of firearm guys and gals on here so curious as to what .45 you shoot and if you had to choose a new one, which would it be (or keep what you have)? I know it's going to come down to how they feel in my hand, the features (or lack thereof i.e. safety), and how it fires but I'm sure I'll find a few that feel pretty good to me. Maybe this is an oil thread

FI is so much easier tune and it adapts to altitude changes better (within reason) and it's more tolerant of changes to slip ons etc

I have a 30" inseam as well...even the XR is a little high for me when mounting if I don't step up on the pegs first but once I'm on, the suspension sags enough to let me touch comfortably. One of the reasons I got the XR over the DR is longer suspension travel...plus I use it for more off-road than road but otherwise it was a toss up. I stopped in Cadre Cycle here Saturday to drop off my Tenere who is getting new shoes and a saw a super clean, very nicely modded DR out front. Looked like it had the suspension all re-done, Heidenau k60 tires, bigger tank, etc. IIt was SHARP. It was out with their used bikes and I was kinda hoping it was for sale. I asked about it when I went in and it belongs to one of the mechanics there.

I had a WR250...decent bike but in order to get the power you need from it, you need to really rev it. I don't know why none of the Japanese builders make a fuel injected dual sport bike > 250cc. The XR650L hasn't been updated since 1993, the DR hasn't had a major update in a good 15 years (or the DRZ either). I keep waiting for Yamaha to dual sport the WR450 but they never do. I'd rather have FI as well. If you want an FI dual sport, you might as well just get a KTM, Husky, Husaberg, etc. I finally got the carb dialed in on my XRL and it runs strong...fun to ride. Had I found a nice used one before I got the XRL, I probably would've gotten a KTM 690 Enduro.
