  1. Get up there and ride that bitch home like I did with my Z1K...there was heavy rain and 40 degree temps and I had no rain gear. I was totally lied to by the weatherman.
  2. I got it working after holding down a bunch of buttons, crossing my toes and doing a jig. Other than that hiccup, I really like it...especially for Photoshop since I can edit the photos by using the stylus on the screen which is way better than using that damn Wacom pad thing. Just bad timing with the phone, work shit, baby coming, wife out of town, my birthday is tomorrow, blah, blah...just a lot of shit going on and I'm over this week.
  3. You've got to be kidding me...my Surface Pro that is all of a week old froze up and now won't boot properly. This is not my week. oh and the POS Samsung phone keeps giving me an internal error message at the bottom and wants me to send an error report. I haven't done anything but activate it and text my wife. WTG Android...
  4. Better late than never If mine doesn't end up working, it will be the first cell phone I've ever broken which is pretty fucking amazing given how long I've had one. For many years I carried two because I had to carry a Blackberry for work as well as a personal phone.
  5. Thanks all. I ran out to Wallyworld and got a prepaid Samsung S4 for a temp phone...at least I can use it for a month or whenever I can get my hands on the iPhone 7 and then sell it. I forgot to mention, I'm also awaiting a call from my wife who is in Hawaii with my son and his wife who is being induced for labor today. So at some point, I'm gonna be grandpa. At least until I get this up and running, she can text me on my iPad. Before anyone gets any ideas ( @2talltim & @Tonik) about me falling in love and switching to Android...ain't happening. I had an Android tablet for a while and I thought it was meh and I'm already heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem (for better or worse) with the watch, iPad Pro, MacBook, Apple TV, etc. Although I did finally break down and get a MS Surface Pro 4 so I had a mobile Windows platform. Macs and programming .NET/C# is no bueno.
  6. Went to the gym to swim some laps after work and as I got into the pool I realized my phone was still in my pocket. FML My wife is out of town for nearly another week so have no phone at all to use, period. Only a corded phone for emergencies (911 only). I don't know if this thing is going to work now or not...I have to wait at least a day to see (don't tell me to put it in rice, it's no better than leaving it sit on the counter per studies). It figures...I have shit going on at work and need to lead a conference call at 8am and likely more calls later in the day. I don't want to drive all the way to KY and spend the day at the office if I can help it. The worst part is, I was planning on getting the new iPhone when it comes out in 3 weeks or so. So I was thinking about getting a burner phone in the meantime so I can at least do my work stuff. Any suggestions on a temp phone like from Walmart or something? I need a drink
  7. There a shop and a range right up the street from my house too...maybe 2 miles. When we moved here 2 years ago, I told my wife we were going to become members and go shoot all the time - I think we've been there once Ammo is still damn expensive compared to what it used to be.
  8. Engage brain a bit here bud...the moral of the quote is not about socialism, or Nazi's, or any of that. The era it's from is irrelevant. It's about not caring about what's being done to others because it doesn't apply or negatively affect YOU. Until it does. That was the point of me posting it. If something is wrong, speak up. Fix it. Don't ignore it because it's "not my problem". I see this at work from time to time and at good companies, those people don't stick around long. The amount of stupidity and apathy in this country is the reason we are left to choose from two fools I wouldn't trust to tie my shoe. This is why I generally stay out of the politics discussions...there's no black or white answers - it's all opinions and they're all different so there will never be agreement or consensus. As such, I take my leave from further political/religious discussions...it's really a time waster as the forum section is so aptly named.
  9. Since I have less distance to go the last day, I may take the scenic route most of the way like we did last year. Something like this (I'll have to fine tune it).
  10. What, you expect me to read all the drivel in between? The meat is in the first two posts. Ain't nobody got time for that
  11. Good job on the routes Jim. Feel like they are set so we can start booking rooms or do you want to hear feedback first (I know, you don't give a shit about what everyone else wants ). Someone usually has at least one brilliant observation. Oh wait, that's usually you.
  12. Very nice..I really need to get out and shoot the ones I have more.
  13. And the middle class is a big part of the small business owners...if the taxes don't increase on them - wait.
  14. To be clear, I'm not complaining about paying taxes, I'm complaining about raising taxes on those who work hard (yes, some people who are considered wealthy actually work for a living) to ostensibly give it to the ever growing population of lazy fucks. If everyone DID their fair share who was able, there wouldn't be a need to raise taxes. Especially since we know, as you all have stated, it gets sent overseas instead. Now I'm not "rich" but far from poor and regardless of whether I bear the brunt of those taxes or not, it's a band-aid (and a poor one at that) treating the symptom and not the root cause. It's short-sighted and the politicians don't care because they exempt themselves from most of the crap (i.e. Obamacare) and use things like insider trader (which they are exempt from) to pad their wallets. My wife pays more taxes from her small business than a lot of people make. So much so that she's talked of scaling back to be under certain tax brackets which means laying people off which is also us paying less taxes and those people paying no taxes and collecting unemployment. See how this works? It's asinine. You don't fuck with the very people who keep the economy afloat. First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
  15. I have a pool table you can use
  16. I don't think people understand the work involved with being a mod although things have gotten better on the spam front. I remember spending a lot of time daily cleaning up spam posts, moving posts to the right topic, etc. People here seem to be pretty good about posting in the right section and it's been awhile since I've seen any spam so either Ben and team are kicking ass or the incidence of both is low. It also helps to be more than average computer literate and understand how websites operate, etc. though anymore the forum/site software is a pretty clean GUI with only admin functions getting messy at times. If you don't know what HTML, CSS and HTTP stand for without looking it up, you are probably behind the curve.
  17. It's so you man It's a lot of fun in the twisties!
  18. http://nbc4i.com/2016/08/18/washout-causes-ohio-highway-collapse/ Looks like State Route 785 near Hillsboro will be closed for quite some time. Imagine coming across that in the dark - yikes! Who wants to jump it?
  19. Very true...kids are an entirely different dynamic. I have absolutely no issues helping kids, even if they do have people in their life that can help but don't. Kids have no choice or tools to make it through on their own. Every time I see on the news where these parents are beating/starving/abusing their own kids I want to do something very horrible to the monsters they call parents. Just recently there was a woman who had her kid taken away as a baby because of suspected abuse. It was eventually returned to her and she killed it at just 4 years old. Oh, and by the way, she's 7 mos pregnant. http://local12.com/news/local/woman-accused-of-killing-daughter-held-without-bond
  20. Actually we use India whenever we can Please do the needful (sorry, I work with India a lot)
  21. They are doing it under the guise of easing the burden on the poor and that's how they sell it. Socialist regimes are no different and than any other. The rules don't apply to those in charge and they do as they see fit. There are a lot of people that really need help who are trying to help themselves. I get that and I'm all for helping. But a growing number are "poor" because they are lazy and are gaming the system, are drug addicts, continually make bad life decisions (i.e. popping out kids like Pez), or just do enough to get by but expect more. I went to school, I actually paid for it myself by working while I was in school. My parents were literally dirt poor growing up and I didn't have much as a kid. I busted my ass working 40-60 hours a week and was (mostly) responsible my money and decisions. My wife sacrificed even more (including her first marriage) to build a small business into a success. So fuck you to the lazy bastards described above who want a slice of my pie because they feel it's unfair that I have x and they don't. My sister is an example...wasted her life, does nothing, has nothing and has no intention at all of doing anything about it. At one time I tried to help her but all she did was take and lie to me and not do a damn thing so I no longer help her or even have a meaningful relationship with her. I refuse to help those that aren't willing to help themselves...I don't care who they are. It just enables them and gives them no incentive to change. yeah I'm bitter
  22. Again, if you keep taking from those that have and give to those that don't to try to equal them, that's socialism. Our society is based on capitalism because socialism doesn't work. But if you are all for it, from now on, 3 days a week you have to let anyone who can't afford it to ride your bike as they see fit. Oh, and you pay for gas, maintenance and any repair that needs to be done. Feels good to give your fair share, doesn't it. BTW, if Clinton gets in, make that 4 days.
  23. Both candidates should be thrown in the river and we should start over. Hillary cracks me up...rich people should pay their "fair share". Huh. What about the 45% of people who pay zero taxes (most of whom suckle a the teet of those that do so they take but don't give). Are they paying their fair share? Socialism here we come.
