At 5x's the price though...ouch. That's a super nice used bike and well farkled. Comfy too.

I agree with IP, the Multistrada really blew me away in just about every aspect. Partly because I rode the Hyperstrada first and was underwhelmed. Engine felt decent but damn that thing did not want to lean into the corners at all. My XRL handles better. So I had lowered expectations of the MS before the ride. Long term seat comfort would be questionable for my fat ass but I sat on the Enduro model which has a slightly different seat and it was much more comfortable. If something happened to my Tenere (and I was ok), I would seriously consider it even though it's pricey and there are no dealers nearby. If I added a second bike, it would be an FJ-09 as it's way more economical but still a fun scoot.

I grew up in Lake George, lots of nice roads through the mountains and along the lake there. Very close to Vermont.

Living on the edge letting the sammich maker have access to knives!

I would say you certainly have the authority to make that happen. Tim might assemble a posse and show up at your house after dark but other than that... Group vote from site supporters! Participants who vote in the eventual minority are subject to a 48 hour ban

That's how I felt about my Husqvarna (BMW owned at the time it was made). An oil change on that thing was a nightmare and was called for every 10-15 hours of riding. Ouch.

For the 2016 Multistrada, Ducati says the following: "routine maintenance intervals have been extended to 15,000 km 9,000 miles) (or one year) and valve timing adjustment to 30,000 km (18,000 miles)," (they actually had the miles conversion reversed and I fixed it for the purposes of this post). Not too bad...still, lot of $ for the work to be done, no matter how often.

Here's an accounting of the day's best deals... http://deals.kinja.com/the-best-prime-day-deals-1783473801 Yesterday I snagged the FLIR camera for iPhone for $180...$70 off! It had been in my wishlist for quite awhile

Just don't get caught dead watching Harry Potter while being 'chauffeured' Too soon?

It's very simple...there just needs to have a meet and greet and let Tonik test ride anyone's bike he may be interested in...owner willing of course. If not, it gets settled by feats of strength (or don't show up ). In exchange, you get to drive his son's Tesla

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. I actually think TT is more cumbersome to use on this site. Since the redesign the mobile version is very slick.
-
You left out the part where I immediately replied and said I was joking and I shouldn't be credited for finding the bug because I didn't find shit...I don't normally use the TT app. I don't disagree with your fairness point though. It's all good. Obviously I wasn't aware of any correspondence you had with others about it. Serious question - how is the Tapatalk app a privacy invasion? I'm honestly not understanding that piece. Doesn't the site need a plug-in or otherwise enable connection via TT and users have to still log in? I've implemented/administered a few forums but it predates those type of apps so I'm not not familiar with the API.

We only care for the welfare and safety of the site and it's participants Actually, so long as the boobies/booties threads remain available, we won't riot.

^^^ I really want to ride one of those. I loved my FZ1 back in the day. I asked one of the IP guys if it would be part of the Yamaha demo lineup and he said he was pretty sure there wouldn't be one, they can't even get one for the showroom floor.

You certainly don't have problems leaning it over! I was scraping parts on my Tenere before you were (at least that I saw).

C'mon...you are making it sound like the site was in imminent risk of attack/damage/loss. A ban was skirted by using a legitimate app supported by the site without modification, trickery, or mirrors. It was a loophole in the system. You guys certainly could've texted/emailed me (or others) and asked if it was that much of a concern so let's not pretend it was code red. And to set the record straight, at least for me, I can't speak for others...I texted you today - not when it was fixed and it certainly wasn't to plead for clemency. Not trying to be a dick, just don't want anyone to have skewed perceptions.

Good to know...I had a gen 2 I believe (2006). That's the bike that swore me off of full fairing bikes forever
-
I've never looked into maintenance, etc on it so that might make it less attractive. I'm sure they aren't cheap to maintain but if you are paying $20k for a bike, you *should* be able to afford the maintenance. There are no Ducati dealers within 1.5hrs of me so that's a dealbreaker for me right away. I still love my Tenere but the MS definitely has it outclassed in the fun factor category unless your fun lies off-road.

I wouldn't call it a sportbike exactly but the Ducati Multistrada is a helluva bike. Crazy fast motor but comfy enough for long trips. Lot of coin though... The Z1000 or more touring oriented Ninja 1K are good choices. Bubba, I had an FJR as well and I thought it was ok but never really gave me that special feeling. Plus, dealing with the fairings when doing oil changes, etc was a PITA. The little clips would fall off into the nether regions of the bike and made a simple task shitty. I kept it a year.
-
I really, really liked the Multistrada. That motor just wants to GO. Even in tour mode, the front wheel threatened to loft in second gear just rolling on. Super nice bike! There was one Ducati model I wasn't allowed to ride...

How exactly? A security hole was identified and patched and we all had a little fun in the process. Plus you didn't have to put up with our sorry asses for a few days. I'd say it was a win all the way around. The dome of hate is growing...

I have 2 bikes, a quad, and four cars. I come home with a duc and I'll have one less sammich maker at home.
