  1. I drove to Chicago to buy my first bike off a private owner. Showed him my endorsement and that I had the cash. he held license, I kept cash and rode down the street and back. Bought it on the spot. When I sold it the guy handed me his license and the cash while his friend stayed back with me and he took it for a ride. Sold it on the spot. Agree with those before that said each situation is different. Whatever gets the job done while satisfying everyone's security level.
  2. Good deal. Glad everything came out ok for you. Weird situation for awhile there.
  3. Thank you....................(I don't feel any better about winter though. lol)
  4. I constantly hear about the struggle some military families go through once the veterans return home and can't find work. Possibility there? Whatever you decide please count me in. Just let me know where and how to send.
  5. I shiver here just thinking about it. Saw a rider on a BMW adventure bike today. That's hardcore.
  6. OK THEN! After much drama and false hopes I FINALLY GOT MY BIKE......................AGAIN. LOL Inked a deal with a local shop for a new bike. Couldn't pick up bike for a couple of weeks cause they wanted to do a recall service on the brakes. While waiting for that the shop went belly up and closed the doors. After a few days of stress got in contact with the salesperson whom was really the only reason I got the bike there. From their conversation I didn't get the feeling that he was going to benefit any from the sale so I scrapped the deal. 30 days later found another bike, same model - same year, used with 20 miles on it. Got what I think is a fair deal on it and am closing deal tomorrow. The shop is offering to store it for the winter for me for free but of course I have my reservations about that. LOL Actually a relief though, been searching and researching for about a year now. Here's my new honey:
  7. Yep, I just saw that the Facebook postings have been taken down like they never happened. Wonder what's that about?
  8. LOL Bad324. I'm in the same boat as you Tonik. They were prepping a Street Triple that I was supposed to pick up this week. Laura posted a message for me to call on Monday but now I'm wondering if I should go through with the purchase from a shop that's closing. Next closest dealer is in Canton/Akron. Decisions, decisions...... Either way Branden was the best salesperson I've ever come across. Really the only reason I was buying now as opposed to next season.
  9. Hey Folks, I'm sort of back from a self imposed exile for the past two years. Sold my SV650 (loved that bike!) while we were buying a house. All that's been settled now and I've been shopping for a new love for the past year. I finally settled on a Triumph Street Triple. I was going to wait until next season but the dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I decided on the brilliant idea of buying a bike in the middle of winter. I was supposed to pick it up today but there was a problem at the dealership and they were closed today. Hoping to possibly meet up with some like minded members and watch the miles tick away. It's going to take me awhile to get my feel back so I'll bring up the back of the pack. Looking forward to the fun.
  10. Please put me down for a LARGE T-Shirt please. DONE
  11. Roush Motorsports in Medina has a good selection, prices aren't cheap though. If you're willing to ride a bit Pony Motorsports in Westerville near Columbus is the WalMart of mortorcycle stores. They dont have a large selection of bikes but they have every piece of gear on the planet.
  12. Definitely wise advice and that's the way I want to lean but my left brain keeps comlaining about sinking money into a bike just to get rid of it in the future. I'm in a kind of weird situation because of my messed up life and a lack of planning in the past. I'm against the wall to get my kids into a better school system by fall - they can't go back to the one their in now under no circumstances so we will be moving. Whatever decision I make right now I'm stuck with it for the next 5 years at least. Trying to do whatever before th wife snatches the purse strings. She wears the pants around these parts - I'm just contract help.
  13. Yea, its for sale . I've been wanting to post it but have been too busy riding.
  14. Welcome aboard! 2006 SV650 here until I sell it. Until then I'll just keep puttin' miles on it. Drop a line if you want a wingman.
