  1. I love it when people give others shit because they don't want to ride down. I PROUDLY trailer my shit and lots of supplies to go with it. I guess I don't know how to pack 'light'.
  2. Anyone who has ridden and 1199 know's its an awesome bike. Glad to see him doing so well already!
  3. Come buy this one before I remember how much I love riding this thing around town. Chris
  4. I broke down and signed up for the MotoGP online pass to be able to watch the coverage.
  5. Cash is convincing. Bring me an offer.
  6. SOLD! $2200 (Edit) Willing to trade for nice super motard road race bike. Willing to add some cash for the right bike. Selling this. Currently in heated storage. Great training bike, fun bike, etc. Will go 60+ up hill. 70+ downhill. I have to free up space. Includes OEM Aprilia spare piston and ring. Not currently needed, but you will have it when the time comes. Chris
  7. I have one kid at OSU and feel he is well on his way. CS&E program. I have one graduating HS (barely) this year and I worry like crazy about him. I have 5th and 7th graders that I haven't started to worry about yet, hopefully won't need to. As far as kids living with me forever, unlikely. I hope they want to move out and get on with their own lives. All my kids are boys and I have full custody of them. I think it is more likely for kids to want to hang around these days because it is so expensive to have a 'base' lifestyle. Cell, nice car, toys, etc. I understand people can live with much less, but once you get those things, it's hard to go backwards to have less. One things is for sure, I won't support them into adulthood financially. I see so many live poverishly (is that a word?, nope) when their kids live all high and mighty on their money. I joined the Navy and left for boot camp a week after HS graduation. I had been working since 12 and regular paycheck job as soon as I was legally able at 14. I don't regret it. My feelings on college: Great for the right people going for the Science and Tech degrees. Best time to do is when you are young. I tried to go college as an adult and didn't find it to be worth the time or money. I think if you spent half the time it takes to go to class and homework and spent building a business, you would likely be much more successful. But to each their own. So many people are racking up tens of thousands in loans and use school as an income source, not fully comprehending that much of that money will need to be paid back with interest. My personal feeling is that everyone should strive to be better. This doesn't have to mean working 80 hour weeks and kissing the bosses ass, but if you invest that time and energy, I hope it pays off with better pay, more freedom and happiness, along with shorter work weeks in the future. Good luck to all. As parents, WE are to blame if our group of kids are lazy asses. Biggie
  8. I also miss SpeedVision. Things have gone down hill. We have to face it, Roadracing motorcycles has lost a lot of luster from the hey day of the 90's. I stopped going to Mid-O years ago and stopped watching AMA. WSBK and MotoGP are far more interesting to me and I only have so much time to watch this shit. I also follow F1. I'm considering canceling cable and this may help my decision. Biggie
  9. Welcome. How much is a bit? Love those years of the R1. Not exactly a great starter bike. Biggie
  10. You can't use CC to buy lottery tickets by law in most states. Cash only. Won't even take debit cards in most places. On top of that, you would have to be very lucky because payback is approximately half.
  11. The intent is to not let you do this, so probably won't be easy. Just be patient. You will thank yourself later. Chris
  12. http://www.facebook.com/chris.wallace.9400 I have the World Rally Blue color and I love it, especially on cloudy days. My Ducati is Red. Hob's is white, although I do really like the white on his MS. Wish I had one of those too, but not enough to sell the Panigale'. I really like how Subaru includes wear items in the warranty. Just got my first free set of wipers the other day. Chris
  13. As an owner of a sonata (2011) I agree it has no soul even though its a great car. I HAD to buy a fun car (BRZ) after selling my previous fun car (Evo IX). I still have the sonata since its big and it's my tow vehicle.
  14. I used to ride all the KY roads back in the late 90's early 2000's. Hadn't ridden a lot since those days, just started having time to ride more last year and KY and I had a bad experience, so not sure how much I want to ride down there this year. I had a Race VTR1000 and FZR400 that I used to ride alone and on group rides back then. Kristi just started riding last year and we haven't ventured very far yet. Mostly around town stuff. I do plan to get her on the NSR50 at CRP this year for speed training and more street riding on the RS125.
  15. Didn't grow up in OH and don't consider either of them to be chili. Never eat at either of them, tried both and found them to be gross.
  16. I hope to have my scooter down there. Need to improve front brake somehow. Biggie
  17. She did as instructed. Hello to you. Chris
  18. Damn right, but I do need to order a few more parts to get it back to riding ready. Chandler isn't up for the riding anymore, so I bought it back from him. Biggie
  19. Yes, that group. Now who else can join us for Full Retard rides? Biggie
  20. I rode about 500 yards. Went to storage unit to update all the expiration dates on tags. Put air in all the tires. Rode the little RS50 and my scooter a bit before putting them all back in until I get some work done on them.
  21. NOOOOO! We need members in the fast group. Biggie
  22. 1140 cc. If that was a Suzuki, they would call it a 1200. Air cooled, not very common anymore. I suspect that thing will be close to 100 HP at the crank, 85-90 at the wheel. Biggie
  23. So many: Push starting the 1199 at the gas stop on to of Cherry Cola from last years OR trip to the GAP. Running in full leathers/gear. My out of shape ass got it started, hoped on and stalled it trying to pull away. I almost cried. The afternoon before the GAP trip last year, getting arrested in KY and not getting home until 3 AM. Got up at 7 to get ready to head to the GAP. Age 15, waving to cute cheerleader I knew in her car (Red Dodge Daytona 1987ish) to my left on side street waiting to pull out, looked back forward and cars had come to a complete stop. Ran into the back of a car. Age 30 or so: Doing stoppie in middle of 3 lanes of traffic, absolutely no gear, no helmet, heading to lunch. Khakis and polo shirt. Locked the front tire doing 45 or so. Hit my nuts pretty hard on the tank. Stopped at destination of Bob Evans (Pfeiffer Road, Cincinnati). Went to bathroom to get grease off my pants. Turns out grease wasn't grease, it was blood leaking out of the hole in the back of my left leg, just under my knee. Rode to ER to get it cleaned and stitched up. Bike never hit the ground, but came close. Hole in the back of my leg from the little round ball on the kick stand detent on my VTR. My buddy, who now owns that VTR was riding behind me on his GS500 and saw the whole thing. It helps to have a witness, especially pre video days. I'm sure I have many others, like dropping my brothers 1985 Shadow 1100 when I was 16 and weighed maybe 120lbs. So hard to get that beast back up. Biggie
