  1. Scooter is a 150 so it sounds less impressive I had fun chasing people down on the scoot. I'm pretty sure I put more miles on it than the other two bikes at the OR Gap trip.
  2. Sweet bike. Always wanted one although I'd probably choose a 675 these days. Offer still stands on my 125. Big bikes are awesome but if you get real fast they become a hassle as they are too fast for most places.
  3. Hard to resist the temptation of a good deal on fast bike. Make sure you understand that things happen fast on liter bikes. If your skills aren't ready, don't worry EMS will be available to clean up the mess. Get some skills. I'd be happy to leave you behind on my 125 as long as the roads are twisty.
  4. Can you tell me more? Not exactly sure who John is or The Car Company. Thanks for the help.
  5. Looking to buy $8-10K truck for general purpose family duties and race track hauling machine. Figure the best value would be to buy outright at car auction although I have no first hand knowledge. Advice and help appreciated. Chris
  6. If you don't think you should be riding, don't. Like others, I just expect it, take it in stride and move on. It's part of street riding. Can't totally avoid it. Chris

    Xt Lap Timer

    I want it! Me! Me!
  8. 2009 Aprilia RS125. Meets 2 of the criteria perfectly. Love mine. Maybe never sell it. Quick, great handling and light weight. I have two RS50's. one with BBK, carb and pipe. Both fun. Kept the stock one longer. Chris
  9. Why can't you add a hitch? I did to my lease. Unless expressly forbidden, just undo before turning in. I also second the idea of dedicated track bikes. Also consider 125 two stroke frame bikes unless you are large. Super moto's are tons of fun, fast and cheap to operate, crash and race. Minis are fun and cheap. Lots of options. Chris
  10. Do both roads. Cops are cool down there. They don't want to run everyone off. I got a 56 in 30 written warning on the gap riding my RS125.

  12. I mean in 5 gallon easily dispensed drinking water.
  13. You probably earned the label. It can be overdone. Having said that I do keep 50+ gallons of drinking water in the house in case of water issues or emergencies. I'm not prepping for the end of times, and neither should you...
  14. You should know that State Farm as all insurance is simple logic based statistics. I'm surprised you don't pay more especially since you admit to having a claim about 3 years ago. Shop around and I would guess state farm would be cheaper. They aren't negotiable just because you want them to be. They out your info in the system and out pops your rate. It may go up and down as their logical statistics change.
  15. Sell the VFR and get two bikes. On fast and brutal and one comfy. VFR isn't a good starter bike for your significant other. I understand desire for acceleration but AZ cops don't like bikes from what I could tell in my few visits.
  16. Address is very important factor. You drive sporty car and sporty bike and you are only 26. State Farm is one of the best. Easy to deal with and file claims.
  17. Monkey butt powder. Lift your butt off the seat to air out.

    Honda Grom

They already have bikes that are similar and made for racing. OMRL does a great job. 2004 Honda NSR50 had its own spec class. 2006 Honda NSF100 which races with other 100cc bikes in F4 class with OMRL. Both of which are lighter than the GROM. All listed have 12" wheels like the GROM. The GROM would likely need its own class as my NSF will likely destroy it around a kart track due to lighter weight and 5 speed tranny. NSF100 comes with stock XR100 engine and transmission.
  19. Welcome. Gave up sport bike for cruiser. I would have given up the poker runs and kept the bike and head to the track or twisties.

  21. You should be able to feel if your technique is hard on the bike or not. Under full throttle aggressive riding (street or track) I hold throttle open fully and barely pull in the clutch just enough to get it to go into the next higher gear unless the bike has a quick shifter and then no clutch. I almost alway use the clutch during downshifting. If the bike has a slipper clutch I just release the lever fully with a quickness. If it doesn't, I blip the throttle and release the clutch quickly. But feeling determines if I'm being easy or hard on the bike. I can shift up or down on bikes and cars without using the clutch but this feels like it cause more shocks and strains on the system. Whether it will break before the bike gets put out to pasture, I can't say but I try to ride fast but gentle. I minimize the time the bike isn't accerating by using the minimum amount of clutch. Generic street riding I gently roll out of the throttle and use the clutch. Smooth is the goal. Under no circumstances will the revs ever make it to idle. This includes cars and bikes. Tractors not included. I can't imagine the OP's GSXR revving faster than the bikes I ride. Chris
