It wasn't anything that the group did, it was specifically an issue with a few members of BDubs staff and management. Lets just say that a visiting mgr from another branch and a few employees had a bit too much to drink and acted like total asses late on our last visit there. They also were not happy with the fact that we were advertising a group meet at their location. I'd be happy to lay out the details in person to anyone that comes out to Bike Night and wants to know. However, we don't take kindly to physical threats and have zero need for drama. We don't cause it and we don't want it. Given those circumstances, we have decided to give our patronage to another business. For now its Frickers. We may change to another location but it seemed a good place to hold our outings in the meantime. Like BluesKeys said, it was MUCH better service. Attendance was down a bit due to the rain but we had a good 20 I'd say. At this point we will be meeting at Frickers this coming Sunday at 7pm, unless otherwise posted here. I will definitely let everyone know if we decide to try somewhere else. We are considering giving the Filling Station a go but no definite decisions have been made. Regardless of where it is going to be held, it WILL be held. Its really too bad that a place would treat customers the way they did. Please note that we are starting regular group rides going forward. We will likely meet in the Frickers lot again and head out from there, like we did this week. Everyone is welcome regardless of bike or ability. Ride your own pace! I will update this post as often as possible. Ryan

Bike Night will be happening as usual on Sunday. Its from 7 until close at the Troy BW3's. We hope that most of the folks who have already come, can make it again. We would love to see some more new faces and we are expecting it to be larger than all of the previous weeks. It has grown substantially every week for the last four. We will be passing out flyers soon and we expect to see an explosion of attendance once they are made and we begin to distribute them. We are also trying to get the normal area of the porch sectioned off for us this week so that we don't have to fight for seating once we get there. As is quickly becoming our slogan, Peace, Love and Chain Grease.

I know you told me how to post a pic here, Snot, but for the life of me I can't figure out why it won't let me post a link from Flicker. If you could manage to help me out with this, I will begin posting photos that are taken every week. That way people can see what's going on, the bikes that show up and just see what they missed if they couldn't come.

Its all good Hellmutt and Snot. I really enjoyed having you guys there and I know a few other folks complimented on how nice you two were. We will take you guys whenever you are able to come! If you could help get the word to the riders up near Piqua, we would really appreciate it. I know it takes time to build these things but the more we spread the word the more likely it will be to remain. Anden and Blueskeyes, it was good to see both of you again. Hope you two can keep making it regularly. I really hope that more of the members here will give it a shot. It has been really good times so far.

I am waiting on the KTM RC390. That sounds like a ton of fun.

Put her on the back of your sport bike and keep insisting that you will buy something more comfortable soon...and don't. Not that I know anything about that. But if you insist, there are bikes like the BMW K1200S or a VFR that would be the best of both worlds. Those are really at the top of my 2-up list, along with the Sprint 1050's.

If you're going to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway its just an easy jaunt from there. I agree that its worth the visit if you like old American bikes. And yeah, Dale and Matt are cool as hell.
-
MV Dave, it will be happening every Sunday from 7-Closing. It was a rather good sized group again this Sunday. Most people bugged out a bit earlier but the amount of folks keeps growing. The core folks hung out until about 11. A couple of us also went for a ride beforehand.

That just sucks. I get the spilled gas but I don't get the drop at the Speedway entrance. How does that crap happen? Jeeze.

Used to go yearly but I'm done restoring old rides for a few years. I am not really interested in the vintage bike shows any longer and I don't need parts. Isn't there a sport bike weekend the week before or after?

I have a Corbin on my CBR and I love it. I have had it since maybe March? I also ordered one for the pillion seat, even though I have a solo cowl, because the plywood slab that came stock on the bike was just too much on longer distance rides for my GF. I can say that it definitely looks far better than the stock seat, the fit and finish is superb and it was comfortable right out of the box. Firm but still more comfortable than stock. Corbin says that the seat doesn't break in until you have about 2000 miles on it. I will say that it does keep getting better and better. The seat makes me feel much more secure and there is no slippage. This is obviously going to depend on what material you have put on it. I chose the carbon fiber look with the asphalt sides. Its just enough to add some detail but it doesn't look like bling either. Subtle and tasteful. They were expensive but I would certainly do it again.

Tonight was a great success being that it was only our 3rd week. Thank you all for coming out and hanging with the group (Hellmutt, Snot, Rollnhot, Blueskeyes, Oldschoolsdime). I enjoyed meeting you guys and I hope you all will keep coming. I really hope that this fine community of Ohio Riders becomes part of a larger whole. The more of you that come, the more others will find out about this site and join here. As Hellmutt said, we need to start turning this into group rides, and that is the plan. We are just getting this organized so give us some time to catch our breath and get it going. Doing a group ride before and then all gathering for some wings sounds like a great day! We are going to take the advertising to the next level with flyers. The goal is to get so many folks together that the porch gets reserved for just us. BW3's has already agreed to reserved parking for motorcycles should we keep growing and keep a consistent crowd. So all of you that missed tonight, I hope to meet you very soon. This area needs this kind of organization and camaraderie. We really want to make the motorcycling community in this area just that, a community. Tonight we saw 30+ bikes of all kinds. Mostly sport and sport touring but some Harleys and cafe's also made the cut. Everyone is welcome. If you love to ride, love to talk bikes and would like to be around others who love the same, then drag your butt off the couch and join us. WHEN: Every Sunday evening from 7 until Closing WHERE: Troy, OH BW3's (cattycornered from Lowes on Main St) Ryan

The weather is a definite go! See y'all there at 7. Looks like it will be a pretty good turnout.

Welcome to the forum from the Pleasant Hill area. Bike nights at the Troy BW3's on Sundays from 7 until close. All kinds of riders, from advanced skill level on down.

HATE tar snakes. Especially when they are hot and fresh. Met with some on 55 outside Urbana.

I'd be all for it except bullets are cheaper...lol -
Keep in mind that the Bike NIght has been moved to Sunday night at the Troy BW3's. Its still from 7 to close. I will be riding on Sunday but I don't have the time to be gone all day. I will be riding outside the Troy area for 2-3 hours.

We would love to have you and I know that Caryn certainly would. She is excited to hear that there are a few more ladies in the area that are riders. She isn't a fast rider and would like to find some women who would enjoy riding at a very reasonable pace. Whether you ride yourself or hop on with Anden, it doesn't matter. Tell those kiddies you need some mom time

NinjaNick, please be aware that we have changed the day. We are now doing it on Sunday evenings instead. The general consensus was that it would be easier for folks to make a regular night out of it if it were on Sunday. We are still keeping the hours the same at 7pm until close. Most folks head out by 10. It is primarily sport bikes and it will be great to see how big it will grow. We are trying to spread the word as best we can and it was about 15 bikes last time. Hope to see you there this Sunday. Bring a friend and come on up!

Welcome to the forum.

No problems. Not everyone stays that late but we would love to have y'all for as much time as you can muster. Awesome! Looking forward to meeting you.
-
They sound good all of the time. I could eat wings for breakfast. I will be riding for a good portion of the day and then heading up there right about 7. We (Caryn and I) will probably stay until about 10 - 10:30.
-
We will definitely be up there so long as the weather is good and it certainly is looking that way. Can't wait to finally meet you two. Bring a friend and come on up!
-
Glad to have met you, Anden! It was a much bigger turnout tonight with about 15 bikes. The good news is that we took a poll and decided that it would be much better logistically for everyone if we moved it to Sunday nights instead of Mondays. So the next night will be Sunday the 22nd from 7pm until closing. Hope to see more of you there this coming Sunday and the next step is getting some rides together. The turnout has been one heck of a great group of folks. Join us!

What: Bike Night Where: BW3's in Troy When: Every Monday evening from 7 until closing. (That means tonight!) Come on out and join the fun. We had a smaller but good turnout (about 10 bikes) for the first ever even in Troy last Monday. We have many already commited and we are expecting quite a few more this evening. This is a great opportunity to meet local riders in the area to share ideas, knowledge, routes, rides and a good time. That is what this site is all about so lets do it face to face. Whether you ride a sport bike, café race or Harley, EVERYONE is welcome and will be made to feel welcome. The weather is going to clear up by this evening and it should be a great time to sit on the covered patio. So get off the couch, fire you bike up and come join the crew. I should be off work and up there myself by sometime before 9. Cheers, Ryan (the yellow CBR600RR)
