  1. I bought my bike with a rear tire being a Skinko. I have gone on some OR rides and have to say that the bike doesn't seem all that sure. Will be getting some new tires soon. i am looking at some Michelin Pilot Road 2 or 3's for sure.
  2. Welcome...not far from Solon either. Just off to the southeast of you. Started riding last year so I am a newb. This is a great forum with plenty of entertainment and various posts.
  3. Ryan, glad you are ok. Were those riding jeans and if so, how'd they hold up?
  4. Nice, wish I could've been there...Doc has taught you well on the video...
  5. I am eating it right now for lunch....very good.
  6. Guidos in Ravenna if you want pizza/italian, not far from Pauly at all. Ray's place in Kent for good bar atmosphere.
  7. I won't do it unless I absolutely had to...tight spot. Don't exactly trust it to support the whole weight of the bike. 400 + lbs.

    laptops

my HP laptop overheated and melted the motherboard solder joints to the point the video wouldn't work. Did some research as to the problem and fix. Turned out there was a class action lawsuit against HP where numerous people had the same problem. They made the MB to share the same heatsink with the CPU and video chip....bad design. When I took it all apart there was the usual lint and dust build up on the inside of the heat sink fins and it gradually suffocates itself to where it won't cool and then it over heats and kills itself. My brother was able to take the MB to work and fix the solder runs and put it through the "wave" machine to reheat all the solder runs. It worked!!! There are companies that fix the problem but it didn't cost me anything except the time to take it apart and put it back together....still using it today and it's 6 years old now. Dell was making them the same way with shared heat sinks on the video and CPU units. There should be at least 2 fans cooling this off...duh!!!
  9. funny but real perspective...thanks for posting. Mark is a funny guy.
  10. We took our 2 girls to the zoo at that age and they loved it. A perfect age do doubt.
  11. Well, someone has to say it...Congrats. Sounds like a keeper.
  12. Congrats, glad to hear when people take this class. You know they are serious about their riding.
  13. What a good looking bike...Congrats!!!
  14. Been watching the NEO threads. Glad everyone had a good, safe ride today. Family obligations today but I did get the oil changed on the bike and headed out in the late afternoon for a quick 17 mile spin to get some seat time in. Roads seemed really good and had some debris but not too bad. Little bit of gravel in the intersections but being careful did the trick. A couple good rains will take care of it. Glad riding season is back!!!
  15. My wife found out last week that she will be losing her job too. She took this job for more money 7 months ago. New boss didnt tell her that the business was already in trouble. She has other contacts in her field and may have another job lined up in July. Luckily she can still work another 2 months, maybe if the boss can float it long enough. Life is never perfect and sometimes challenging.
  16. Were you in the Streetsboro area today? My wife saw 2 different rides this afternoon on her way home from work. Separate locations, so some were out. Too cold without heated gear for me and too much salt on the roads still. Good day today and tomorrow if you can though.
  17. I love my weber grill...even cooking and had it since summer of 2006.
  18. He could have been having mechanical troubles with the bike and he was in the right place being in the far right hand side lane near the white line. Cop or not, he did not have safe, clear distance and still hit him. He could have fought this and won if there was any damage and being on video X2 would have helped if he could prove that he was not goofing around.
  19. I have to admit that going someplace and trying them on is the best way to determine what fits your noggin best. There are many different makes and shapes of helmets and not everyone has the same fit or shape. Pick one that best suites your needs. I chose the Scorpion 1100 and love it. It does vent well and is very comfortable. Seems to fit my shape of head the best. I have a medium head but ended up in a large for sizing. They have since come out with another model. I have not seen it in person. Sport bike Track Gear does a lot of ratings with videos on all these and may be helpful when looking for new features, etc. http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Categories.bok?category=SCORPION+Helmets+from+Sportbiketrackgear.com Not trying to sell one brand. They rate others too. Hope this is helpful.
  20. interested with more details needed.
  21. The heat is not as hot and you run the risk of pellet shortages. When stocking up on pellets you need to store them in a dry place. Have to have electricity to run.
  22. I heat with a wood stove and supplement to my propane as well. I am using the Dovre Isle Royale model now owned by Quadra Fire. I bought a floor model that was a closeout. Dovre was made by someone else at the time. Beautiful fire and love the top load feature. It helps with all the dirt and debris when moving the wood around. Best feature of the stove. I did buy a fan for it that mounts on the back and bottom to move air around and help circulate the heat. Made a huge difference. It does heat the upstairs bedrooms too as heat rises. Sometimes I do supplement the upstairs master bedroom with the Eden Pure when it takes too long for the heat to circulate upstairs. http://www.quadrafire.com/Products/Isle-Royale-Wood-Stove.aspx I have access to all the free wood I can cut so it is a plus. Downside is it is a lot of work, but I love the warm heat!!! I do most of my wood cutting, splitting, stacking and storing by myself. I keep the thermostat down to around 65 and then bring up the heat in the house to about 70-75 sometimes depending on how much wood you put in. The furnace does not run while the stove is on. It really cranks out the heat and can heat 2200 SF quite well. Nothing like that heat on a cold day. Radiant heat is the best. Just standing in front of it feels like you are on a beach laying in the sun. Awesome feeling if you come in from outside and you are chilled through. I keep wood in a pole building on the farm so it stays dry during the winter and then haul it into my garage one wagon load at a time. Can go about 4-6 weeks at a time before having to haul more wood in. It does get dirty and dusty in the house but you just have to be proactive in keeping after it by sweeping and dusting frequently. I run a house humidifier when we burn wood b/c it is a nice dry heat and can dry your sinuses out too much. Propane is expensive and I still have to have it for my dryer, stove, hot water tank and my furnace in between times. I am glad I have my wood stove and yes if the power goes out I always have heat and yes, it has happened in the middle of winter. Hope this info helps. I don't have the stove you are looking at but it does look like a good one. If you have access to the free wood you can't go wrong. I built my house new 10 years ago, so I had a Class A Metal Chimney installed. The builder put in some nice stack stone around the wood stove and gave me a nice hearth area around it and a place to stack my wood inside the house too. Looks nice. Make sure whatever stove you choose, you adhere to the manufacturer specs for clearances, etc. before you proceed. That will be most important. Good luck.
  23. Welcome to the mayhem and fun...you will like it.
  24. Just hours after I purchased the bike from a private owner and had it delivered to my garage, I was cleaning her up and tried moving the bike without mounting it and almost dropped it right on the garage floor. Hadn't even ridden it yet but I caught it just in time!!! Riding this past fall, I tried doing a u-turn in the road and the front wheel caught some gravel on the edge of the road and slid right out from under me and I didn't get my foot down fast enough to catch the bike...scuffed the left side engine cover, fairing and turn signal and the pride of course. Ugh!!! Won't do that again. Sport bikes don't have a great turning radius like you think. I took my MSC training on a dual sport bike.
