  1. Its good to have something to fall back on when you are 60, but I want to be able to enjoy myself while I'm young also. Vacations, unneeded road trips, video games, big tv's, new cars, name brand food, multiple guns, houses with a guest bedroom, animals, etc... These are all things that cost people a lot of money over time that could be put into a retirement, yet you rarely here people say they regret them. Think about how much money you could have saved. Think about that $500 you threw away in Vegas.. think about that good looking girl that you took to dinner 6 times before you realized she wasnt going to give you any booty. If you dont plan on selling your hobby then who cares if it loses monetary value. The real value is what it means to you, the stress it helps you eliminate, and that place you can always go to get away from it all.

My point is that you can always find something that everyone does with their money that they dont have/need to. Some spend it on women, some take $4000 vacations, and some like to be able to open their garage door and see their hard work in real time. It's up to the person.

    Well said.

  2. I usually buy cheap cars, fix them, drive them for a few months or whatever, then sell. Everyone of my car I've gotten for less than $1,000. Every car I've ever owned. I bought my wife's daily, a '94 Saturn SL2, for $200 from the original owners. A water pump, belt, tune-up, and cam cover gasket; and the car is probably worth $2,200.

I have a buddy that makes a good bit of money on cheap cars. He has a strategy. He finds cheap cars ($1000 or less), fixes them cheaply as possible, and resells them in poor parts of town. On the first of the month, he parks them in different parts of town for advertisement. He usually sells them for at least a $500 profit. He tries to do 2-3 a month. Not too bad for extra income.

  3. I think about this every single day. I am in college too to make it worse. I have about $10K wrapped up in my 1G. To add to that, I am ordering coilovers within the next month. I do not regret my hobby at all. It's a blast to modify and drive these toys.

I am however giving it until the end of this year to decide if I want to keep the 1G or temporarily get out of the hobby until after college.

  4. What's up adam.... sorry I kept you guys after closing last night... wait no I'm not!

Nick! Whats up man? This is Adam from Advance. You'll like it on here man.

What body shop do you have the car at?

welcome. hows the car scene in portsmouth?

Non-existant mostly. That's why I migrate to other areas on the weekends.

However, if you have a good handling car then you will be in heaven. Ask MrAutoX if you dont believe me.

If your talking about street racing I'm not sure as I gave up on that many a years ago.

I'm not a fan of KD. They do not take very great care of it.

There are few fast street cars here but they usually migrate to other areas like Huntington or Columbus for fun. There is no street racing scene here either unless you are interested in racing a pimple faced backwoods dumbfuck with a bone stock Cavalier, S-10, or Neon. There are many fast trailer queens down here though.

  6. I am just suprised how people could be suprised by this. I mean where did you think those drugs you are all taking were going? Just like everything else, it must at some point leave the body. And at some point everyones fresh water was someone elses waste water. We just ship it on down the river.

    x2. Simple science everyone.

It's not like this has only recently happened anyway. We have been exposed to this our whole lives.
