  1. Ohio is worst than most places in the US too..

there is just a special kind of turd that resides in America's Midwest

.. and he's usually driving a pickup truck.

And the taller the truck, the more they hog the left lane.

Then there are those who cruise the left lane and only

speed up when you move into the right lane and try to

get around them.  They catch up to the vehicle ahead

of you that's in your lane and then slow back down so

you can't get around them.  We really need a law to

encourage drivers to move to the right when approached

from behind by faster traffic.  If it takes them more than 30

seconds to pass a vehicle, they have no business in the

left lane when faster traffic is behind them.

  2. Triumph Trophy has had issues...

Other than 513 manufactured from September 2012 through March 2013

for the fuel tank, and 416 which were built from June 1, 2012 through Feb. 28, 2013

for the center stand, what else have you heard on these new 1200's?

  3. Jack flash ought to check this one... http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/4641805089.html

09 sv650, fully faired, 500 miles, 5k. Could probly get it for 4500 and sell his bike for 3k come spring.

I was just passing by when I thought I heard my name.

It's a nice looking SV.  Only 500 miles is both good, and

not so good.  A bike needs to be ridden to stay in riding

condition.  Friends with mechanical experience and riding

skills have mentioned they would prefer a ridden bike with

miles, as opposed to one aged but hardly ridden.

I like the looks of the SV, but it leans me quite a bit forward.

Higher bars would appeal to me.

Money is scarce for now.  My car is costing me many U.S.

dollars for repairs, lately.  My motorcycle is still going strong.

I might as well repair my bank account and ride what I have

    for a while longer.

    Thanks for the thoughts, Josh.

  4. Please tell me the Aztec and Rende did not actually appeal to you, please.  Those are by far 2 of the most hideous cars ever put on the road with the Aztec fighting for #1.

^ this. I might as well pull up in the driveway with a gremlin. The result would be the same, divorce.

The Aztec did not.  I thought it was butt ugly.  The Rendevous was another animal.

I thought it could be comfortable, good for hauling people and things, and go well

on slippery roads if it had AWD.  I test drove one once and didn't have a problem

    with it.

What was really wrong with them, because I haven't read up on them?

    .

  5. These always appealed to me.

The Buick Rendezvous and its corporate cousin the Pontiac Aztek were GM's entry into the cross over SUV segment. As a four-door crossover with a front engine and four-wheel drive, the Rendezvous featured a four-speed automatic transmission with a V-6 engine. The SUV used the same platform as GM's short version minivan, Pontiac Montana, Buick Terraza, Chevrolet Venture, Chevrolet Uplander, and Saturn Relay.

The Rendezvous boasted the ability to carry seven passengers when equipped with a third-row bench, a class-leading feature that Buick brought to market before its competitors.

The Rendezvous is able to carry within its interior the proverbial 4'x 8' sheet of plywood.

I didn't have time to read the entire thread, in case they were mentioned already.  They were made thru '07.

They all didn't come with AWD, so you may need to search a little for one.

  6. You simply call and state that effective on such and such a date

you are terminated as a supplier.  I am the boss.  This is how it

is going to be.  Then you stop sending them money.  You document

who you talked to, date and time.  Boom!  You are covered, they are

    fucked.

    .

  7. That sound.  That sickening sound of your bike hitting the asphalt,

you will never forget that.  And that sight.  That sight of your bike

laying on it's side on the ground, you will remember that too.  It

helps to keep these things in mind.  It helps to make us more

    cautious.

  8. Hey Jack!

I have a RF-1200 I just got a the beginning of the season. I like the fit and feel much better than my X-12 which was much more of a "race" styled helmet. It seems to be as quite as my old trusty RF-1000, that I seem to judge all other helmets to. The new shield system gets mad props at being much smoother than those of resent years, though I kind of miss the "crack" feature of others I've had. If you plan on adding an intercom system like I have, this is a great helmet to do it in, even has the speaker pockets with more than enough room for even the larger ones. The vents work very well, even at lower speeds, though not as much flow as the X-12 I had most recently, but that is the price of a lower sound level and something more more "street" aimed.

Thanks Derek.  We talked about your helmet at your shop, one

day when you were on your way out.  You being pleased with it

is what made me want to have a closer look at it, myself.

I'm currently wearing an HJC CL-16.  As a first helmet, I have no

complaints about it.  Eventually it will be time to replace it and I

tend to upgrade when I have to replace things.

My idea of an upgrade includes more air flow on warm days and

less wind noise while riding.  I know the two are often opposing

features, but hopefully designers have worked this out.  I also

require a SNELL approved helmet, as their testing insures a

quality far beyond what I trust in DOT only helmets due to the

DOT allowing companies to test their own helmets, and not

conducting follow up testing.  To me, that's like allowing the fox

    to guard the hen house.

The Shoei RF-1200 is at the very top of my list of helmets to

consider.  I find that the medium size fits me perfectly.

Anyone else have experience with one?  Give me your feedback

    here, if you do.

  9. I believe you can get a motorcycle only license in Ohio.  But,

not if you already have a driver's license.  Then you get a

motorcycle endorsement added to your driver's license.  I

don't think you have a choice in that.  There is no second

knowledge test.  That's a one time thing for motorcycle.

As for the skills test, do as has been suggested already.

Take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Beginning Riders

Course, the BRC.  It cost you $50 US if you take it through

the state.  Dealers will charge $200 or more.  The $150

that you save can be spent towards proper riding gear

which you need to have to keep your skin on your body if

you go sliding on your belly down the roadway.

Here.  Click it.  Read it.  And don't text and ride.  :D
