  1. I looked through gobs of images for that chock.  I'm glad it

    finally surfaced.

The stand is a Baxley LA model front chock with Triumph logo's added to it.

This fully adjustable motorcycle chock holds any motorcycle upright for transport, service or storage. These are two versions of the same chock and are mechanically identical. The only difference is the footprint - the LA Trailer Chock has a slightly smaller footprint which allows it to be placed in closer proximity to walls or the front of a trailer. You will get a lifetime of excellent service from these excellent motorcycle

  2. Here Jack, get down and get worldly.....or Google some more!

    Big smiles here.....

That was an interesting read.  I didn't know Amish teens

did those things against their upbringing.  I would have

thought that they were more inclined to avoid those kinds

of activities.  I also viewed Amish girls as being pure as

the driven snow until they were married.  Guess it's not

    as I thought after all.

How long does a community allow a young person to

practice Rumspringa before they are shunned?  The

story suggests that some in their twenties are still not

members of the church.  How does the community treat

them?  Could one go off and return years later, and then

    go back to Amish life?

  3. I've had low water pressure the entire time I've moved into my house.

I'm looking at getting a Kenetico water softner and I'm afraid I won't

have any pressure when it regenerates.

I've checked my pressure tank and adjusted it.  I raised my switch

pressure to 40-60.  The Kenetico rep checked the water pressure

(at 30psi running pressure) showed 4gpm.  Would this be my

pressure tank itself or would it be the well pump?

I'm guessing that 30 psi running pressure means that the

pump is running at that point.  That sounds very good.

I'm also guessing that there is a check valve (back flow

preventer) between the the pump and the tank.  It could

be leaky and allowing you to lose pressure in the system.

It should also cause your pump to kick on more often than

necessary in order to keep the system pressurized.

That's my 2¢ worth, today for free.

  4. I just walked into the house.  Made a stop at Buckeye Lake

to watch the boats being put into and taken out of the water.

The wind made it difficult to load a boat, so I helped a few

    people.

Also, I stopped at the Jacktown Pub for a rib dinner.  If you

go there, don't get the ribs.  They were delivered cold and

I had to send them back.

The bike is fueled up and SeaFoam has been added to the

tank.  I also lubed up the chain for the winter.  It's ready to

go when spring gets here, or it's ready now for another nice

    riding day.

It was good to ride with you again, Dave.  That Muskie Bucket

was interesting.  Maybe one time we can actually make it to

the other side of Marietta for some new twisty roads.

  5. I'm in! Was considering a long-ish ride at a reasonable medium pace.

It's fall and a workday so don't know what we'll find out on the roads.

I can be in Logan around 9:30am or earlier. Then maybe some roads like,

    550 - 26 - 260 - 255 - 800 - and then 78 back to 33. Too ambitious?

That looks like a good plan.  I'm leaving Newark at 9:00.  I should

    be in Logan by 10:00.

For anyone else wishing they could join in, it looks like the perfect

day to call off sick.  This may be the last nice riding day of the year

and if you miss it, you will feel sick for sure.

  6. Working weekends means it's hard to make a weekend ride.  But I have Monday

off and Monday's forecast is looking pretty good to ride through southeast Ohio.

Can you make it?  We can meet in Logan, Ohio and ride the Epic Ride route.

This is a great chance for anyone who couldn't make the spring or fall rides due

to having to work weekends.  I'd like to leave early enough to squeeze in a trip to

the Big Muskie Bucket, about 10 miles past McConnelsville.

Kickstands up:  10 am   unless someone chimes in and makes a request.

Route is also subject to suggestions.  No worries.

We'll meet at the Hocking Mall Shopping Center.

  7. I can get rid of STD's but not you dumb fucks

I came down to Dallas to get my flight instructor ratings back in Febuary.

While in training I got an internship at a corporate flight simulator company

acting as a supporting crew member (First officer or right seater as you will)

in a Lear 35. Once I started running out of money I got a job as a flight

instructor teaching people to fly (be afraid, be very afraid) while finishing up

the internship. Today marks the 1 year annaversry of getting back from Siapan

and I am happy to report that I start the initail class training to get my Pilot In

Command (PIC) type rating in the Lear 35. I am hoping to get a job working

for a med ecav company in Florida and finally make some real money.

Hey, I don't know you.  But, I'm beginning to wish I did.  Flying has

always been fascinating to me and I admire you for it.  It's something

that I never had the $$$'s to get into, and I understand it's very

costly to practice general aviation on your own dime.

One day we'll meet, and you can tell me some flying stories, like

when you were afraid or worried you were not going to get a plane

back on the ground without breaking it.

  8. I bought a hi-vis rain jacket, because if it is raining hard

enough that I need to wear it, other vehicles may have

difficulty seeing me through the all the water on their

windows.  Other than that, I'm not a high-vis

fan just for everday riding.  It's not my thing.
