  1. I always put my arm all the way out and down so it drops right onto the street. However, I did eventually buy an ashtray and got myself into the habit of not throwing them out at all. I quit smoking cold turkey 3months ago, now, anyway.

And what? It magically sets itself gently on the pavement and stays put? NO! That shit bounces and sprays embers everywhere, and gets caught up in the wind going around your car and does at it pleases. Not to mention it is still littering.

  2. I sent an email to Denny curious about the cars condition.

Has the motor been fixed? Do you have a bill of repair from the fix? Was it disclosed when you bought the car that it had a blown motor? Do you have a CarFax available? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2119430&page=2 http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2118849

    and he replied:

we have a carfax and it is clean,no accidents,no stolen vehicle reports.we have marketed and sold many sti's and we are certain this motor is super strong and the turbo spools correctly.we have no knowledge of the concerns you mentioned however we do not refute your claims,we simply do not know of the previous problems.presently this seems to be a very nice low mileage car and it will sell rather quickly unless we discover any issues you mentioned.i have driven the car now approx 120 miles and it seems very, very nice.thanks for the heads up,denny dotson 740-967-8080
  3. Last fri we all went out, ya the car was blowing some black smoke but it seemed like the tune was a little off. It wasnt showing any signs of being blown up or having any issues other than an off tune. it was running healthy. I know a few weeks prior to that he got a nice shipment of things from jegs to fix some issues it was having.

Interesting. Sure doesn't fit the story he was telling on Nasoic.

  4. car was running healthy the other night before he unloaded it. I know him, hes a good kid.

The other night as in a month ago? Not calling you a liar just interested in more details. I would like to believe that he was good enough to fix it before he sold it but, he sure makes it hard.

  5. Yes that is it, Ha Ha, Stay away from that car like it has the plague. Turns out the old guy that owned and painted the ocean stuff on the car before the kid owned it LIVED at MidOhio and it participated at just about every track event that was held for a few years so most of the miles on the car are track miles. Car is worth maybe 10k with paint and repairs.

NOTE: The water pump bolts directly to the engine block, using a gasket for pump-to-block sealing, Fig. 32. The water pump is driven by the timing belt and is serviced as a unit.

    1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

    3. Place a jack under engine to support and slightly raise engine, then remove engine mount bracket, Fig. 14.

    4. Remove timing belt cover, Fig. 15, then mark belt running direction for reinstallation.

    5. Loosen timing belt tensioner, then remove belt and crankshaft sprocket flange shield.

    6. Drain cooling system.

    7. Remove water pump mounting bolts.

    8. Separate water pump from water inlet pipe Fig. 32, then remove water pump.

    9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

    1. Use a new O-ring on water inlet pipe.

    2. Torque water pump mounting bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

    3. Refer to Engine/Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair for timing belt installation and tensioning procedure. See: Engine\Timing Belt\Service and Repair

66 that I can think of off the top of my head

  8. i briefly looked around online the other night, and theres a slew of options, and i have no clue about these. i played my brothers a couple months ago and when i found out i was getting some extra tax $, decided i want to pick one up. im probably not going to have a whole bunch of games, i'll just borrow them from my buddy who buys new games all the time. what kind of things do i need to decide if i want/need to then determine which one i should get? would it be worth it to buy used off CL or something, or is there something i should watch out for with those?

Be careful buying used. If the previous owner was marked as a cheater by Microsoft, their system and Gamer ID would be blocked. Gamer ID won't affect you. If you buy his system though, it is still blocked. It is only good for single player use at your house. NO LIVE.

  9. stock is .030 of coarse a 2 layer or 1 layer brings the p2v closer resulting in higher compression. I would run a Honda OEM or Golden Eagle (i have replaced many cometic and will never again ) my oem is holding fine but the golden eagle is a improved version of oem (they use stock but enlarge the water ports or sizing for piston bore.

here try this calculator and dont forget to click on B series

    http://www.zealautowerks.com/index.html

This seems pretty close. It shows green so I assume they "think" it will be "safe"? They also give the option for 2 layer or 1 layer and they are still both green. My stock setup claims 10.6 and their calculator comes up with 10.8. Any experience with modifying an OEM gasket?

  10. I am looking at doing a head gasket on my B18C5. It is all stock internals. Any recommendations on brand or thickness? It looks like most of the aftermarket ones are thinner then the factory. Also, I assume I have to take the difference between the gasket I use and the factory gasket and add that to the minimum height after decking? (maximum deck is .2mm so if I use a gasket that is .29mm thinner then factory I should not deck the head at all correct?)
  11. yea, i never use bp crap in any of my cars for this exact reason. my dad even told me that at least ford and GM both used to say do not use BP gas in there owners manuals.

As much as I don't like BP I have to say :bs: on this one. Ford has BP stamped right on their fuel caps.

  12. I think it needs to be handled on a case by case basis of kid by kid as it may be. I can tell you right now that taking things away or sending me to my room did nothing to deter me. In fact, I enjoyed the time alone and away from the world as much as I still enjoy it. I cannot tell you a single reason why I was sent to my room and I probably repeated those same mistakes time and time again. I can tell you why I got swatted and I usually didn't repeat those. I can also tell you things friends did just prior to them getting swatted in front of me. Now if you look at my girlfriend, all her dad had to do was express his disappointment in her and her actions and she was so upset that it never crossed her mind to do it again. Two very different people require two very different forms of punishment/correction. You have to know your child and you have to know what works for them.
