  1. Glad you guys had a sunlit track for today. Were the pits a mess after last night's rain? Hope everyone ran well and came home safe and sound!

The pits were really wet. Hollywood crashed in 13 but and his bike looked fine. Lots of low-sides in 13 this weekend. One ambulance trip for a guy in the first SV race. That caused the first 600 SB race to be pushed until after lunch.

  2. Ya, I didn't even set sag on my bike for round 1. We finished Jinu's bike at 1 am and loaded up. I know the guy who owned it before me was about my same weight so I think it was close but....it needs some adjustment.

I just set my sag on Wednesday. Probably should have done it before I left for Round one. I didn't realize how stiff it was set from my suspension guy. Hopefully that helps next time.

  3. I have a set of white TCX boots that are in great shape. These are the Competizione S model. These are my backup pair and have very little wear. Just your normal scuffing from riding. No crash damage. The soles aren't worn at all. Size 42 which equates to 8.5 US. I wear a 8.5 US and they fit great. Probably fit someone with a slightly larger foot. Price is $150 obo.

  4. I don't remember any but I didn't ride last weekend. I talked to Reuben from 35 about set up for my 08, he's big into the Kawi's, he could probably get you in the right direction.

He is who did my suspension and gave me set-up advice. I think I need to just get more seat time before I make drastic changes. He had me running the forks flush with the upper triple and the rear at stock height. The Kawi feels a ton stiffer than the 05 600rr that I had last year.

  5. Ok, got a problem. Does anyone have a spare battery they could loan me that will fit a first gen SV650? My piece of shit Bikemaster battery I bought at the beginning of last season has shit the bed and I don't think I'll be able to get a Li-Ion battery delivered in time, unless a local shop carries them.

I'll try to get a battery from one of my other bikes to fit but I think they're too tall to get the seat on.

Todd should have some batteries available track side. I know my buddy put one in his ZX6 last fall at Putnam. I would call Todd to make sure though.

  6. The NESBA event organizers used to talk about "the 3 stages of Nelson"

9:00 sesssion (stage 1): "this place is a fucking HOLE. I can't believe I paid for this..."

11:00 session (stage 2): "this layout is awesome. It's a shame the surface is so shitty."

2:00 session (stage 3): "This place is really fun. I'm terrified of what might happen if put a tire off the race line, but this place is FUN!"

This is exactly how I felt last year when I first rode Nelson.

  7. Don't support him, how am I going to make him feel bad and call him a sand bagger and cherry picker when you make comments like that? ;)

But honestly you are right, I wouldn't have moved myself up but Todd told me I was ready and didn't really give me an option, just said he was moving me up. I haven't been racing much longer than Hollywood either. I ran a few Mini 20's at the end of the season in 2011, and last year was the first "full season" I had ran. Either way I am just out there to have fun, but I personally think it will be somewhat embarrasing when I'm supposed to be an "expert" and I know there's Novice riders out there who are faster than myself and will probably be passing me.

You guys (not you specifically) called me a sandbagger after my first event. Last year was my first year of racing. You will be fine in expert. I look forward to chasing some people to get my lap times down.
