  1. Could y'all keep your ears open for me?  I'm looking for a folding motorcycle trailer to haul 2-3 bikes to Wayne, Perry and such.  I like the Kendon models the best because they're relatively lightweight and fold up for garage storage.  Ideally I'd like to pay under $1600 but could stretch for the right rig.  Willing to travel to most of Ohio.

  2. Tonic I must take exception to your analysis.  You failed (failed!) to include their beautifully designed strategy to whip up the Democratic base around keystone messages of racism (to distract from Obama's negatives and BLM's rioting and ridiculously racist demands), sexism (to detract from Hillary's negatives), xenophobia (to detract from immigration rule of law), heartlessness (to detract from socialist/collectivist agendas), classism (to detract from their own anti-coal/rural/white biases) and intellectual inferiority (to detract from their own failure to understand economics and keep from being called on their own hypocrisy).  Oh, and the fact that they overplayed every narrative to the point of the general populous tuning them out and under-representing their disgust in polls, leading to an election result that surprised just about everyone.

Liberals are still roiling - I know this for a fact after having a brilliant conversation with an actually very cool lesbian DC PAC member who says they're struggling to regain their direction.  I gently offered the notion that libertarian ideas could hold the keys to digging under partisan lines and she seemed to thoughtfully consider it.  We'll see.

It's honestly pretty easy especially if you start with an electric one. Get a piece of meat, throw some rub on it, throw it in the smoker and pretty much forget about it a few hours. When I first got my smoker, I would throw the meat in then have a smoke then a nap and when I woke boom meat is ready to consume

Bad324 is spot on.  If I can learn from YouTube and a few online recipes to produce very nice results, anyone can.

  4. I smoked salmon in mine for the first time this week.  Wow, I'm going to do that again!  210 degrees for 3 hours, though I think I'll go a little shorter, add water to the drip pan and wrap aluminum foil over the tops to keep more moisture in.

I too am in big favor of the new law.  My company has a very secure parking area,  but company policy prevents having a weapon in your car while parked on company grounds.  there is a nice indoor range about two miles from my work,  so this has always been a pain in the butt.

So i got into a heated discussion with another pro gun guy that doesn't like the new law. His concern is the loss of liberty to private employers who he feels should be allowed to set these policies for their own property. i see his point,  just disagree that individuals lose rights over their own property (their car) because it's parked at work.  interested to know what others think. ......

IMHO, I think the individual liberty thing is a wash either way - both parties have justifiable arguments (right of the business owner vs. right of the employee), so I think it's a reasonable compromise.  Employer can say don't bring it inside (yet leave the employee vulnerable to attack between the building and their car), but at least the employee regains their constitutional right when they're back in their property.

My employer's policy explicitly says we're not allowed to carry a weapon on their property except when explicitly permitted by law.  In less than 90 days, SB199 will allow me to legally protect myself from a violent attack from a miscreant and an employment attack from HR for doing so.

  6. Glad to hear you're better off Tpoppa.  That's a brutal lot to go through.

Weird one for me too.  A good recovery from 4-level cervical disc replacement surgery, but rewarded later with residual peripheral neuropathy (numb/cold/tight arms and hands) that's likely due to lower level compression and systemic inflammation.  A full year of "cleansing the palate" by not dating one bit after a shit marriage with bad custody issues, a LTR with different issues, another promising STR until I undid it facing more critical health issues, made a big job change to an intense management role, switched up a few motorcycles and did several excellent long-distance ADV and camping rides, rounding the year out with 6500 on the odos.  It's why I don't post here as much as I used to - just too busy most of the time.

Still, all said, happy to be alive and getting around, not stuck in an unhealthy relationship, challenged to rise against, and a little more self-aware than 365 days ago.

  7. Thanks guys!  I guarantee I'll regret selling her from time to time, but there's a fellow coming Sunday morning who seems like a perfect buyer - he's restored a few of these in the past and both knows what he's getting into and all I've done to bring her this far.

I'll use the cash to pick up a trailer by spring to enjoy Wayne National Forest without having to ride all the way there and back.  Man I love riding dirt.

  8. Glad this went to a good home, and also glad I no longer have to buy it :p

Now someone find me a 9mm carbine for under $500...

I scored a gen 2 Sub-2000 from Field and Stream a few weeks ago for $499 minus some scorecard money I had built up. They had a dozen but all went real fast, so I'd say keep stopping in if you're near one.

100 rounds through it the other day and no problems whatsoever. Packs up into a compact Camelback-sized backpack, even with a few extra 33 rd mags. [emoji51][emoji16][emoji1303]

  9. Hope I don't offend the purists or large kettle/spit guys, but Cabella's has the Masterbuilt 30 electric smoker I've been enjoying all summer on sale for $149. It ain't no self-feeding pellet-powered Trager but wow is it easy to use with a low entry cost. That, some wood chips, meat, rub and/or marinate and you're in business.
