I will give props to Chevy for the new 6.6L L8T gas engine...401/464, aluminum heads, 10.8:1 compression. Sounds stout!
Basically the 6.2 with some more stroke and the same bore. No cylinder deactivation on this one either. Should be a decent drivetrain, time will tell.

Not a bad deal, GLWS.
-
I will defer to Scott on the Tech II as I have had/used "generic" scan tools.
If the ability to turn on the compressor is "withheld", it would leave me to believe the PCM is still seeing/not seeing something it needs to allow it to run.
"Open the pod bay door Hal", "I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that"
Those days have arrived!!!
You would be correct sir. Not much more I can do over the internet.

Any tire shop that refuses to use stick on wheel weights is dumb as fuck. Anywhere should be able to do it, cheap is a different matter.

I got a nice pocketknife with my initials on it. I thought it was a nice gift. Personally I think the groom has enough things going on that it doesn’t need to be a big deal anyway.

Assuming it wasn’t low on refridgerent (all you said was that you evac and recharged it, so I assume it wasn’t low to begin with), it definitely sounds electrical. Is this vehicle auto climate control? I’d bet it is. Follow along with what Craig said above, and use your tech2 to see if there are any DTCs in the ECM or the HVAC control module under the “Body” section. Then use the live data to see what sensor is out of range, it sounds like one of the temp sensors or maybe the sunload if it isn’t the control head itself.
Just don’t throw parts at it. Pressure sensors are not common. It wouldn’t surprise me with a truck that age to have an issue with a slipping shitty compressor clutch that won’t stay engaged.

I'm planning on going out to Carlyle's on Friday. Going to run the 11.0 class and the 140 mph max roll race class.
Really considering doing the same. The roll race class for sure. Wish I had some decent drag radials that fit the Corvette, hate to buy some I don't really plan to use.

Looks like a Corvette engine to me. :masturboy:

Looked at them sitting in the garage, then I took a nap. Been feeling pretty car’d out lately.
-
So nice to see everyone, obviously great to see Anthony doing good. The last of us sat there until some time after 10. I miss doing that on a regular basis but enjoyed catching up.
-
So looks like this is happening in a few weeks. Friday night at Carlyle’s and then Saturday at Trails for racing.
Anyone going? Anyone actually going to participate?
I’m thinking about it, kind of on the fence about racing. Not like either of my cars would be competitive anyway.
Anyone ever gone to one of these events? Looks like some test and tune mixed in, is it worth it? Thoughts opinions?

Polaris?
There is no other one around Columbus sir, you haven’t been gone that long.
-
I should be there.

Yeah seems like I just saw him at the dyno, first thing asked was how my car was going. Such a nice guy. More proof that life is short, you never know. RIP

Heard great things about Lucore, although I never pay anyone to do automotive work so it’s just a 3rd party review.

spray starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it starts... cheap way to point you in the right direction of whether its a spark or a fuel issue. if it starts you have a fuel issue, if it doesnt you have a spark or timing(chain, cam or crank sensor) issue
Best advice. Sounds alot like a fuel pump dying.

Some good times for sure, unfortunately nothing lasts forever. Thanks Doc, I’ve missed getting to see you and hangout on Friday and Saturday nights recently. Glad you found a new place and I’m sure it’s “Doc Cool” for you to make the move. It needs a sign somewhere that says : DOX House.

Pretty good look Clay I like it.

They reported on the news of an unconfirmed tornado about 2 miles from my house (between Gahanna and Pataskala in Blacklick), but not sure it actually happened. It was a little strange to watch the wind pick up and slow down that much multiple times in about 15 minutes. Otherwise nothing happened and I didn't see any damage when I left for work this morning.

Guessing the radiator & fans should fit in my 99? If so, i will take them.
I don’t see a Corvette in your list of cars.

Would the vette oil pan work if someone was swapping an LS motor into a 3rd gen Firebird? Asking for a friend....
Maybe but doubtful. The wings of the “batwing” oil pan stick out pretty far on both sides. I’m not sure it fits anything other then a C5.
-
The Monster clutch... will it fit a 2007 CTS-V 6.0L?
It should, there’s something unique about the spacing, I think a shim is needed behind the slave cylinder. Not positive on how it goes together, but I believe it works.

So I’m kind of a packrat and have been hanging on to alot of stock parts or decent stuff from work, but I’m getting tired of tripping over this shit. There is various stuff I’ll gladly give away to someone who will use it.
Here’s a few things I’d like a couple dollars for.
SOLD-Aluminum driveshaft out of an LS1 6speed f-body. You can find these for over $100 everywhere, CR price $50, I also have 2 steel ones you can have.
SOLD-The stock C5 brakes off my 1997 Corvette, calipers, hoses, pads, rotors, all of it is perfectly useable when cleaned up. Prices are all over the place, I don’t care $50.
Blown up LS1 out of my Corvette, has hole in block and 2 broken rods, however right now it has the batwing oil pan on it (worth some money) and the C5 mount brackets. Look up what the oil pan and mounts cost, I only want $200 for the whole mess.
Stock 97 Corvette LS1 intake manifold with 2001 fuel rail (returnless) and stock injectors, CR price $100.-SOLD
Used Monster stage 2 single disk clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. Probably half the life left in it or better, I upgraded with new engine before I overpowered this one. CR price $100
Don’t bother me kicking tires, just bring cash and carry, I’m not waiting around, I’m not holding stuff and going out of my way for a few dollars. There are lots of other things laying around I’ll give away if you’ll just come buy something.
I watch this all the time so ask your questions, I may have some small shit you might need so ask. If it’s LS1 related I might just have it in one of many boxes.
TCI streetfighter 3000 stall converter, been sitting around for years but worked when pulled, fit my Camaro when it was an auto, CR price FREE!!!
C5 radiator and fans, stock stuff that was trimmed to fit supercharger, works fine. CR price FREE!!
Need an old Miata battery? Been sitting for a few years may work, may not, FREE!!
I have some Powerstop Evolution Sport brake pads and rotors, part#z23-1521, part number ripped off rotors, parts are new, someone gave them to me, I think they fit some Honda, CR price....you guessed it FREE!!
I’m sure there’s other things, but come quick before I get mad and throw this shit away. Just don’t ask me to go out of my way to give it to you, you will simply be ignored.
