  1. It says nobody has viewed this post. Is Thiel's some den of pestilence that I should be avoiding? Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  2. Thiel's Wheels of Upper Sandusky is doing an event with the haunted prison in Mansfield. I am not in any way affiliated with the dealer, I just heard about the event and thought it sounded fun. If anybody else is going, give me a shout. http://www.twheels.com/event_list_detail.asp?ecode=619421&month=10&year=2013&location=0&Submit=Search Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  3. I sat on a vfr1200 at pony today. Didn't do it for me... the 800 on the other hand And since nobodies mentioned it yet, I think OP should check out cycle-ergos.com. You can put in your gs500 and then compare it to other bikes you might be interested in. And to Hijack the thread again: The RST 1000 is crazy sexy! How dareth thee besmirch it with comparison to the RF900R! Look at pictures of the instrument cluster on the RST. It looks ready to do a run on the Deathstar for crying out loud. (I think the zook has more power, and you could conceivably blind someone with it's taillight though.) Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  4. The only thing I'd heard about on the Futura was it took Aprilia a few tries to get the ECU fuel mapping right. You sure you're not thinking of the Triumph Sprint ST? Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  5. How so? Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  6. I was in the exact same position as you when I stepped up to the Katana. I don't have enough saddle time on various bikes to offer practical advice, but I would suggest hitting some dealers and planting your butt on as many bikes as you can. 'Pony in westerville always has stock moving in and out, and Motorcycle Maxx out on 23 in Lewis center has a ton of bikes. I stop in from time to time just to sit on something I haven't seen before. Personally I'm stuck trying to decide whether I want a VFR800 or an Aprilia Futura to replace my 'Kat. (The carburetors are infuriating on the 'Kat, part of the reason I haven't rode much this summer). I can do a weekend in fair weather with my little tail bag, I'll show it to you on the leaf ride. Attached please find photo of the sexiest SPORT-Touring bike ever.
  7. I rode my buddies fz6 home from pony and was pleasantly surprised. Not at all the beast my katana is. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Leaning a bike does not cause it to turn. DON'T take your hands of of the bars. Hold them rigidly in place and try to lean the bike into a "turn". Won't happen. Hang off the side of the bike and hold the handlebars locked straight. Nothing happens. How can people be so exposed on a such a powerful machine and not comprehend the basics of how it works? I have no skill, no strength, and no finesse, but at least I comprehend how to make it go, stop, and turn. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Shame I'm not in the market for one right now. Nice bike though. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  10. I'm curious to know the "douche nozzle"s name. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I don't think stiffer penalties will cause people to behave differently. Consider HIV / AIDS. Having unprotected sex can get you killed. But that doesn't stop people from doing what feels good at the moment.
  12. Made it as far as Marietta. Slept like crap in the hotel (always do) and ended up taking a nap in a parking lot about 5:30pm. Beautiful day though, and more 'hogs than I could count. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Too tired to find the pm option; silent if you can make it drop me a line, i'll be rolling through westerville sometime tomorrow evening.
  14. I'm going to see if my ex will swap me that day with the kiddos. That and weather permitting, I'm in. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  15. I've got a kan-a-tuna myself, but it's all good. And I'm not a smoker or anything else, so I can split a room with somebody if needed. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

I'd be there (if I could keep up with you guys) but I've got the kids until about 7pm. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  17. I'm considering riding up the river from Cincinnati to Wheeling next Saturday the 28th. I'll probably ride down towards cincy friday night, stay in mason or something and catch a show or movie, then get up early and ride along the river. It depends on the weather; I went to Indianapolis last Friday night and about froze in my summer gear. I could probably go for a shorter local ride, I'm tired of being the lone ranger. 18. Freaking rain. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Hey everybody, I have to be in Cincinnati early Friday morning for some doctor's appointments for my daughter. Weather permitting, I plan on riding the bike down and spending the day in Cincinnati. Saturday I'm going to follow the Ohio River to Wheeling, spend the night there, and then roll back to Newark Sunday morning. If anyone has any suggestions for the ride, or would like to run the river with me, send me a PM. I'm a little anxious about where to put the bike overnight, so any suggestions on that would be great. Thanks.
  20. Here is more or less my odessy. http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=130577 HELP HELP HELP! What did I do to my bike?!?! Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  21. I tried calling them, it seems the number has been disconnected. Do any of the forum members do work? I've seen a few names, hoblick comes up a bit. The bike shouldn't have anything really wrong with it other than I don't know what i'm doing, and maybe a clutch issue (part of the reason I wanted to clean the carbs, first gear seems to lose torque after 6000 rpm) I'll post some more details later when I'm at a keyboard. I'm off today so I have time to put it together and take it somewhere. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  22. Should I put this in another section? Should I put it on a truck and take it to pergram? C'mon guys... somebody give me something. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  23. I have a '06 Katana 750 (all stock) that I cannot get to run right after jacking with the carburetors. I've got factory manuals, and eventually would like to learn how to maintain the bike, but I've had it apart for over a month and am out of patience. I'm looking for a reputable mechanic with experience on air/oil cooled suzuki's, preferably katanas. If there is a member that is super good with a wrench that wants to run me through what I'm doing wrong that would be even better, and I'll pay for the privilege. Eventually though it will need valve adjustments and the like and I would like to have someone I can trust to do the work right. Let me know who you folks trust, and please no lampooning the teapot. She's enough of a shut-in as it is.
  24. Woohoo! That was a freaking blast! Thanks to everyone who worked to put this together, and everyone who came out to ride with such great attitudes. I've never gone on a ride like this before; now I can't wait to do it again... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
