  1. I tried to give their number a call, but I couldn't get ahold of anyone.
  2. Anyone know if the track's open for practice for weekend? Anyone like to join me?
  3. Noted. I think I'll be keeping the gearing stock for the next two events at CRP, but then I have a month to swap parts before PIRC
  4. Yeah, I'm going to hold off on gearing... At my current lap time, average speed is about 38.5 miles per hour. At the fastest time of the day, a 56 or so second lap, it's 45.7 mph.
  5. That is a most accurate assessment of my current position. I was spending almost all my time in 4th gear. It only became feasible to shift up to 5th past 3/4ths of the way down the back straight, and sometimes just before turn 1.
  6. I will say, my legs are still pretty sore from all the hanging off! I did pick up some better boots, with rear wheel bearings, sprockets, and chain coming soon. I'm running the ML75 tires, for which 14 48 is the suggested gearing. I was hardly hitting fifth gear on Saturday, so why are they suggesting taller gearing than stock?
  7. I've seen 2 in the wild. One was just going down the street, and the other was another employee at Honda R&D. None in a dealership. The bike at Honda R&D was the well equipped one, with some good looking frame sliders, projector beam headlight assembly, and an exhaust.
  8. Honestly, after seeing a nicely accessorized FZ-09 in the flesh, that'd be my choice. That, or, I'd spend the 10 grand to take a month off work and travel the country.
  9. The top people of the novice group today were running about 1:01.6 so that's a good goal for myself.
  10. As of right now, my best lap was a 1:06.43. The thought of sub-minute seems like a stretch! But I'm sure down to try!
  11. Had an awesome time today! Looking forward to the next event! Let me know if you guys head down for a practice.
  12. Just leaving work. It's not worth it since I can't get there before 7...
  13. Man, work is holding onto me for a later evening... Not going to make it to practice. I will do laps around my apartment complex, however.
  14. I get off work at 3,then I have to get home and pack the bike and gear. So I'm shooting to get there at 5. Should give a few hours of practice.
  15. Well, the oil is changed, the catch can is on, and the bolts are safety wired! Number 23 is ready to hit the track! I'm going to the practice session at CRP tomorrow. Anyone else going? I figure I should ride the bike at least once before Saturday....
  16. I just removed the screen, just snipped it off. Baffle in place. Yeah, safety wire, catch can, and oil change to go.
  17. The carb rejetting was quite nice. Gave it a bit more pep, and made it more responsive to rev too. It's currently running stock gearing, and according to a gps tracking app, topping out at about 33.7 MPH.... seem right? How much change is there with taller gearing?
  18. Well, rear tires on and back together. I pulled the spark arrestor and rejetted the carb. Catch can and safety wire (and an oil change) to go.
  19. Well, I haven't taken any yet, haha. At this point I'll try to get finished pictures up tonight. Not positive I'll get to the tire tonight though.
  20. Spokes in and rear wheel true enough. Front end resprung and oil swapped, then reassembled. Tonight is swapping the carb parts, mounting the rear tire, reinstalling the rear wheel. Then we are done!
  21. Well, update to the day. Front and rear wheels removed. Rear shock removed. ML 75 tire and new tube fitted on 16" wheel. Front forks removed, I'll have the BBR fork springs tomorrow to install tomorrow night. I need to get ahold of a spring compressor to install the rear shock spring. The suspension bushings in shock linkage have the surface finish of your average piece of gravel. Cleaned them with brake cleaner and greased them. Should be better than it was. The steering head bearings were loose and dry, took that apart, cleaned, greased, and tightened. There's actually 11 broken spokes, as opposed to the originally thought 10. I ordered extras though... they shipped last week, should be here soon I hope! Then rear tire mounting, with the tube that should be arriving tomorrow. Carb jets should be coming with the spokes... I haven't ridden the bike more than about 50 feet due to the spokes, first race is in 6 days, right! Haha. At this point my first ride is going to be my two practice sessions.
  22. I'm still waiting on spokes! Everything else is here, including my catch can kit from bark. Going to be a furious pace of mods this weeknights. I wish I could head down for practice though!
  23. Two thumbs up for Hoblick. We really ought to put a thread about him as a sticky on the shop review page...
