  1. Or conversely, just friday night, ride the trails saturday morning, and ride back saturday afternoon.
  2. Are you guys planning on camping for this? One night, two? Etc. I'd like to make it a whole weekend, ride down friday, camp, ride saturday, camp, ride back sunday.
  3. Agreed. Well, lets hear about the where, then we can pick a when. What are some suggestions for good off roading?
  4. Well, I'm out of Marysville, but I've lived here for all of 4 weeks so I have no clue what direction to head for a good time. If there's anything good west of columbus, smccrory and I could ride west to help meet you midway, Earache. If we were to plan on hitting up true off-road trails and such (which I'd like to), I'll need to look into what (if any) registration I need to do to my motorycle to do that. Do you get a permit from the Department of Natural Resources or something? I'm open Memorial Day weekend. I know others may have plans, but it's a 3 day weekend for me. Otherwise, throw out some dates and I can see what fits. Justin
  5. I've got PR2's on my SV1000S, and I had PR3's on my Ninja 650R, and I've never come near their limits on either bike. And thats with numerous triple digit corner exit speeds, at least on the backroads of Iowa. I know I'm not pulling 100 on some of the roads southwest of Marysville that I've ridden so far. Do you do any track riding? Sounds like it may be a good place to get your kicks on the GSXR. As far as the city is concerned, the best way I've found to make that fun is to ride a little bike. I've owned several Ninja 250's and some smaller dual sports, and they let you bring the fun down to much more attainable speeds in the city. Justin
  6. I'll hop on for medium. Unless something comes up for work.
  7. I'd like to revive this thread. I've got my Yamaha XT225 out here with me and I'd love to get in on some dual sport rides. I've never been able to get the bike to go faster than 68, so we'd be limited to back roads, but I'm up for any distance like that.
  8. One other thing to keep in mind is the much smaller frontal area of a motorcycle versus a car. The motorcycle can, and will, punch right through a car. http://www.dvo.com/newsletter/monthly/2007/march/images/motorcycle-hits-car.jpg
  9. Cool! Just saw this post. I'll still get my work done earlier, but it'll be a good meet and greet. I can bring some grill items as well, though I have no grill myself. Reading through the pages I was getting worried... bunch of you worrying about the cold... your April temps around here are amazing. Not to mention next week back in the 60's!
  10. From what I've gathered so far, I second that. Thanks again for all the welcomes. I found the site while searching for a decent shop to do a bit of fork seal work on one of my bikes. I've gotten connected with Hoblick, and I couldn't be happier there. Justin
  11. It gets better... I have owned a combination of 8 Kawi's, Suzuki's, and Yamaha's. Haven't owned a Honda (yet!). I already do like the climate... as we're having our 30 degrees days this week, they're having 10 degree days... I'll be riding by Thursday again.
  12. Thanks all! I'm a Mechanical Engineer, working up at the East Liberty plant.
  13. Hey guys and gals of the Ohio Riders Forums, my name's Justin and I just moved here to work for Honda as an engineer. I'm located in Marysville, and I look forward to exploring the state on two wheels here soon enough. I've had 8 bikes in the last 3 years, ranging from Sportbikes to Dual Sports, and I've got a fondness for anything with an engine. I enjoy touring riding primarily, and love long days riding when they bring me to cool places. I'm no extreme Iron Butt'er but I do the best that I can on my SV1000S. I look forward to meeting and riding with those in the club! Let the good times roll. Justin
