  1. Don't know if I'll make it now, not sure if I'll have my bike back together by then. Still waiting to get body parts and tank back from my guy. Should be any day now though. Moving to Colorado on the 26th, so that doesn't make it much easier either. Although I'm looking forward to having way cooler roads than all of you ohioans [emoji12]
  2. Does indeed look pretty sweet. I'd ride the shit outta it. Those grips look like baby poo though.

    Daytona 675

I ride an SV also, and can relate. I have rearsets, on the lowest setting with is probably close to stock height and also get knee stiffness. But I'll get a 2nd bike before I get rid of this one (got it too cheap, & first bike nostalgia) I did recently ride a V-Strom 650 for about 2 minutes, has same motor as our SV minus the cams being slightly different. But I was shocked how high those sit, never even realized. And I think they are very sporty for a ADV bike, and Cleary it can hold its own in the twisties no problem, might not be for track days though unless you really wanted it to be I guess. But coming from someone with similar experience and taste, I wouldn't rule out sporty-tourers or some adv bikes, they can change your perception with a quick ride or sitting on. I'm going to be looking in that department for my next bike likely, if not maybe a 675 for me also, they're pretty badass.
  6. Been driving around topless/door less in the jeep for the past 2 days. First time I've done it and it really is the next best thing to riding my bike, since I can't ride for another week or 2, it really helps curb my anxiety to ride in this fantastic weather.

    Nope

Hell yeah!!! That was freakin awesome! Would totally have done that with him if I had all that legit gear. Looked like one hell of a rush. Glad he didn't get pinched by the law.
  8. Last gen thunderbirds.... eww Totally agree on the aztec and cube also. Aztec and/or rendezvous is worldwide renowned ugliest vehicle ever I believe. It was perfect for Walt in breaking bad though.
  9. Most people are steering away from poly all together anymore for performance means. It's all about replacing as many bushings as possible with sphericals now. Other than the few good places to use poly that have been mentioned, steering/sway bars, full car poly bushing kits are a big hoax and actually hinder suspension performance and articulation. If you're replacing suspension parts on a daily driver, always stick with oem bushings if you can.
  10. Just dropped 135 for a tow last night, pilot bearing is likely in several pieces on my 95 s14. Of course I only got to enjoy my badass new coilovers for 2 months. I'm having wonderful luck lately. Twas my last donut for a while... not the bakery kind [emoji20] I do agree on the car payment thing, I'm staying away from one as long as I can. not a bad choice to fix what you got.
  11. It's all part owning and riding, I'm fine with it. this was already planned actually (a touch up anyway [emoji6] ), just needed to get it apart and to my buddy over in indiana before I move since he's so good to me and my wallet.I'm sure the valve check is the same as the wee since they're identical motors mostly lol. Maybe someone who's done it before on here could be bribed with beer to help me out or at least supervise me so I don't mess anything up. Did read a good write up on the process and it certainly is time consuming.
  12. Tore back down for paint. Anyone here done a valve check/adjustment on an SV before? I'm at 24,xxx. I've read some people have gone well past 50k without any adjustment needed, but wouldn't mind checking mine.
  13. You're not too far from Northern Kentucky, doing a half day ride over there tomorrow, free to join. http://www.ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/107340-NKY-Ride--Friday,-5/1,-@-9-AM,-200-Miles-of-Twisty-Goodness!There's not much of anything around dayton, but if you venture an hour or so out in a few directions you'll find some very good roads. good luck and have a good first season in ohio.
  14. Just the two of us as of right meow. Would bring my lil bro, but he's too hard core for us.
  15. Haha, looting for cigarettes and bags of chips. That's the big pay off I guess..
  16. Saw this on CL last night, sweet bike. Always loved these, hopefully will get my hands on one some day. GLWS!
  17. Would be interested in hitting up some NKY with you, I'll keep watch on this.
  18. Hah! Get used it. I've almost taken care of all the rust on mine now, it's been a process, but worth it. I love mine
  19. Can we use said road to finish off old tires? [emoji4]
  20. If you come up I75 North for about 10 minutes to the tricounty/springdale area, there are 2 very good shops/stores. Springdale has Cycle Specialties And tricounty has Sport Tour, both about 10 minutes from each other and both very nice stores with a great selection.
  21. Gotcha, was signed in a wrong account for some reason when I posted. But I've seen a dark blue fz6 in and out of my apartment complex a few times, LakotaLake, but could've been someone else, don't remember jacket color.. Next time you and your buddy get out for a local ride post up again and I'll probably meet up with ya.
  22. Now don't get it back and be overzealous with that extra horse you picked up. Keep it on 2 wheels... [emoji4] Sounds great, looks great.
  23. Yeah mine that is plugged is a steel belted radial, and it was indeed the most difficult plug I've ever put in because of that. But it has worked with zero issues. I do agree that a vulcanized patch is the best of the best in terms of tire repair though.
