I have a short ride to work, so if there isn't ice/snow on the road I can do it pretty easily into the 30s with heated grips.
-
Sure did, took mine out for a little ride and took the wife's out for a spin with the new tire mounted. I'll be riding tomorrow, shouldn't be freezing again until Tuesday.
-
It's a 2007. Yep, two bros pipes, way way loud! Not a 2-1, a pipe for each cylinder... Also has some LED lights along the body. Not my thing at all, but whatever, easy to take off if Katie doesn't end up liking them.

Very cool, I'll be playing with this for a while now!

I think the price was right but more importantly I think she's happy.

haha It'll give me some time to clean it all up and get it ready for spring. But yes, it will suck to look at it all winter!

+2
+3 on Hoblick, did my FJR this year, bringing my wife's new Ninja up as soon as the tire gets in.
-
Well, just picked up a 2007 Ninja 500... I'll put up a pic tomorrow with the proud new owner! Thanks for the suggestions, she's a happy camper.

I work in a job shop and we get walk-ins all the time. I'm in Columbus, shoot me a PM if you want to bring it by.

My First Epic Ride with the OR crew. Had a great time. What a fun group to ride with.
I got a Garmin VIRB and this is my first attempt of some of our ride:
1. Derek, Thank you for all the hard work you put into this event.
2. Jim, Thanks for the voucher to place me in your Grp.
3. Hellmutt, Sorry for bailling on your group but I have ridden with Jim (jschaf) before and he had a upgrade voucher and I had $20:00
Nice video, thanks for posting.

Thank you to everyone who attended!!! You made this event uphold it's name, Epic Ride!!!
A special thanks goes to Wolfman1! Thanks for getting there early and putting up the signs. They were well designed and made for easy organization.
Jacobhawkins and Heagachongoose - Thanks for bearing the med-fast group throughout the duration - Apologies for the first half, just couldn't get comfortable on the new bike and was mentally blocking some things apparently, but we definitely picked the pace up in the second half of the ride. Jacob, I look forward to our next ride together! You throw that whale around great and I've seen your progression over the last few rides. You've definitely progressed greatly! Not only in your riding, but your confidence on the bike has increased drastically as well!
Yeah, thanks, Wolfman1, the signs were real nice, it was good to see you before the ride. In regards to my riding difference from the spring to now... I was coming from a Nighthawk 750 and just got the FJR about 2 weeks before the Spring Ride. I was hanging on for dear life in medium-fast! haha Put on about 6500 miles on since then, so I'm glad it's not all been a waste!

Hang onto it for next year for me. No worries, it was a great day.
-
Great day for a ride, thanks for getting this organized, Derek, and thanks for leading, also.

I have a +1. Medium likely.

I'll be meeting you in Groveport. Sorry for the late chime in, waiting to see what I got done earlier this week to reduce Saturday work hours...
-
Yeah, she had a great time. Thank you very much for letting her on it. Plus, its pretty cool that the first bike she's operated was a race bike!
-
She can ride in th field where no one is watching, or spin some laps during lunch.
I have an old 2-piece suit she can borrow. My sister-in-law can't be more than 120, and she has worn it.
Awesome, we'll be down. I have a blue FJR, whiteish jacket, yellow helmet, ponytail. Katie has a black jacket, yellow helmet. See you tomorrow!

Derek and crew FYI
56 is closed just after the 278 turn to Nelsonville. dont know when it will be open down to 691 also the construction traffic light is still set up at Coonville on 56. warn the guy that almost bowling pined you on the video.
FWTW Some Detour Options
Shorter: 56 to 278N to 685 to 78
Longer: 56 to 278s to 50E to 356 to 56 to 691
I am sure I will be down that way again before your ride to check.
Brian
56 is still closed just past 278. I took 278 north to 33 then picked back up on 78 in nelsonville. I remember that damn light in coonville every time but it still sneaks up. Its right there after that corner! I missed a turn and took 93/13 by Crooksville to 155 to 93 back to Logan. Oh well... Damn sun was in my eyes on 669 so that was slow and unfortunate. Great ride though, looking forward to the group on the 27th!

I'll be riding the route after work today checking for detours/road hazards to avoid.

I'm thinking of riding down to Louisville tomorrow to see what they have in the scratch and dent department. Not looking for anything in particular, maybe an exhaust or a set of leathers. Who knows... Just wondering if anybody has been down there and what their thoughts were. It's a 3 hour ride for me and could spend the day in Hocking but thought it'd be fun to try to score some gear cheap.
