  1. DEAL! Now we both need to make daily sacrifices to the weather gods and think only pure thoughts until that day.
  2. Hey Lenny / Jack - Welcome to the forum, neighbor! I live in Wildwood on south-side. Yes, we'll have to go for some rides. However, I have a huge deadline for the end of the month so my evenings and weekends won't allow for anything more than a quick spin. After October I'll have time and would love to go on some medium/longer rides, but it will be November then. So I'm hoping for an indian summer. My next door neighbor rides and is a local so he's shown me some great roads since I got back into riding last fall. I too like 555 and I've run the southern part many times. I usually run south to north. I'll have to go the other direction more often. I also like 21 in WV from Mineral Wells to to Ripley or a bit farther to Kenna, then, 34 (I think) to Fairfield. Twisties PLUS views and the elevation changes you get on mountains. Well, what we call mountains here in the east. I highly recommend the Epic ride. The fall version was great the other week. It was very well run. The three groups ran safely and the conversation, before and after was great. So. how about we try to get together in the first weekend in Nov? I'll check if Bill, my neighbor, might be able to go too. Chris

  5. I was thinking I'd seen one right like that!
  6. http://www.wlwt.com/news/woman-dies-of-injuries-suffered-in-multimotorcycle-crash/28311294 My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim and those injured. Be very careful if you join a large ride. This accident was cited in a safety message I received today at work. Google Maps view of the accident location. You can see the shed on the right (south) side in the news coverage, from the north-west bound view. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3664067,-84.7817415,3a,75y,138.49h,100.27t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sFRth30VwQSYkubLNecqyeQ!2e0 Chris
  7. Derek, Please hang onto the $30 I paid - bought two. Spring will be just fine.
  8. OFFICIAL Greeting for Slow Group: Dudes. If you're still here, you're in the Slow Group. Welcome. The ONLY rule of Slow Group: It's OK, we'll get there. OFFICIAL Policy of the Slow Group: We DO talk about the Fast Group, especially if it might possibly get us out of a speeding ticket, or loitering ticket, or... "Yep officer, we do know those other guys." No, I'm not the lead. I just think I'm funny.
  9. I'm so sorry to hear that this happened. Please post again when they're released.
  10. We LOVE you Derek! And trust you and respect you... (Well now I've gone too far) I'm certain Josh's rant was entirely about PayPal. (I Really MUST get back to work) But please rest assured that many/most, probably all of us, are grateful that you're doing the shirts and the setup for the ride. Volunteer organizers are precious and few. If that vendor mess ever happens again, please let us know! I wasn't part of the group when that happened but NOBODY wants you to have to pay for that type of problem.
  11. I'm with you on the sentiment. But I'm pretty sure it's all about the money. People/companies, PayPal included, are trying to find ways to make money from the internet. Then accountants get involved (ALMOST as bad as attorneys ) and are compelled to get more money from the original idea. Hence the grinchy factor. Warning! One more post about "I remember the good old days, before (insert topic)" and somebody will send you a t-shirt to identify you as a Crusty Old Fart. You're too young for it, but welcome to the club!
  12. Need a second shirt, size M, please. Paypal is on the way. It doesn't matter - but what color is the shirt? Kinda hoping it's black. But white or gray or ,,,
  13. My neighbors wear full gear. My wife's gear is close, but I couldn't talk her into getting the pants, yet. X X But are we going to be the only guys riding with a pillion?
  14. Do ANY people carry passengers on this ride? My neighbor might come if his wife is interested, and if his wife goes, then mine might go along. I was planning to ride with the slow group anyway. And for those confirmed bachelors (or wannabes ) I AM hoping the ladies come along.
  15. Attended this!!! Well, the first 2 hours of the 8-hour session. It was a pleasure to meet Tim and Gil. Please let me know if you hear of another ARC, even as far as Columbus.
  16. I haven't been there on the bike this week. Had early meetings Tue & Wed. Off for vacation today & Fri. I wear a pair of Icon over pants when I'm wearing dress pants.
  17. Please try a do-it-yourself. It really IS easy and I agree with bloody that way too often the shops do not do it right or carefully. I'm on my phone so I didn't watch the video but please be sure to recycle your used oil. I get it at Walmart or autozone. Both places take recycled oil. It's a good idea to have a gallon jug to handle the used oil. The only likely problem you might run into is in getting the filter off. When you get the new filter. Invest about $8 to get a filter tool. I prefer the type that fits snugly on the top of the filter can and attaches to your ratchet wrench. Most bikes don't have the space available to use the adjustable strap type. Good Luck! Chris
  18. BUMP!!! Come on guys, we need ONE MORE PERSON so this class will happen! The organizers will cancel the session, probably next Thursday - 9/4, if they don't get SIX signed up.
  19. Hi hasuna! Welcome to the area. Very Nice Bike! Good idea to get the gear and great move to do the MSF! I wouldn't have suggested the R6 for a first bike - it's great that you have some experience. But please be careful of the R6's quirks. As you've probably experienced, the engine is very peaky, meaning pretty weak down low then gets 100+ HP crazy when the revs get into the sweet spot, But that means you're going pretty fast when you get to the fun part of the power curve, so PLEASE be careful! Especially after you start to feel confident enough to want to see what she will do. I hope you'll join us for the epicOhio ride on 9/27 (check the rides & events forum). Chris
