Ohio Riders Unofficial Mid-Ohio Track Day - August 21, 2017
GixxerTravis replied to TimTheAzn's topic in Track is Crack
I'd like to come and just hang out! No more riding for me but still love being around them... I live about 15 minutes from Mid Ohio -
My aunt does that! She's been on me about an opening for leasing consultant opening they have.. it just has crappy pay. hah
-
I actually applied through the government for ATC, never heard back And I'm not quite sure what a career counselor is... haha
-
I had a bad accident last year, not much for being on my feet for extended periods of time... is your company hiring?
-
I'll look into outside sales a bit. I couldn't imagine working in a store like Lowes etc... I'd go mad I've thought about driving for Uber on the side, wonder if anyone has experience with that?
-
But don't know where to start with no experience
-
I never have considered school.. I'm afraid to spend a load of money on school for a specific thing come to find out I don't like it.. I'm considering getting into sales
-
I'm ready to get back working since my accident and need a totally new career path less labor intensive than construction... (Construction being mostly all I've ever done)
-
Oh duh... $50 each I guess?

RECEIVING SAVED BY THE HELMET AWARD MILFORD OHIO JUNE 8TH
GixxerTravis replied to GixxerTravis's topic in Daily Ride
Ahh, didn't realize it was that time already.. No worries -
Please join me at Quaker Steak and Lube bike night June 8th for the kick off of bike nights! I am receiving the Saved By The Helmet Award from motorcycle Ohio at 7 o'clock. It would be great for me to meet as many of you as possible, especially those of you that donated enough money for me to continue therapy needed for me to get out of a wheelchair!! This is big for me and I am so nervous and excited at the same time
-
I am going to use it to make my voice heard by as many people as I can. If I can save one person's life, then it will be all worth it... Also it aired for less than a minute and they brushed it off like it was nothing
-
Oh also, went to bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube for the Saved by the Helmet award my friend Melissa received, I actually did better than expected around all the bikes
-
And so much for it being a "press conference" with only NBC 4 showing up......
-
Welp, I cried. But that's okay... After I got my first couple sentences out it wasn't bad at all
-
I am pretty nervous, I'm going to a media event for 'Saved By The Helmet' at Genoa park in Columbus in the morning at 10am......... Up late writing a speech and drawing a blank, great.
-
Just gotta keep on keepin on. Like Joe Dirt says hahaha
-
It won't let me upload anymore pictures... so there you go

WARNING: THIS IS A VERY GRAPHIC POST, PLEASE READ BEFORE VIEWING PICTURES!!! This is going to be a very hard post for me. I think it's time to release these pictures of me after the first 6 hours of hundreds of hours of surgery for the public to see. The only reason I'm alive today is because of my helmet. A very good helmet. Please don't put your family in this position. My family and friends had the worst day of most of their lives July 28th, 2015. Remember to keep your emergency contact info updated and in your wallet/purse. Don't take riding gear as a joke. You're wearing it for the one time you need it. -Every time I see a biker not wearing a helmet, I get sick to my stomach. -When I hear loud noises I jump. -I have night terrors every single night. -I've been diagnosed with PTSD. -I have friends who don't even ride motorcycles anymore after seeing me in the hospital trying not to die. -I cannot hold a pen/pencil because I had a stroke and lost motor skills. -I had a body part amputated. -I have hundreds of scars. -I had hundreds of broken bones. -I had open compound fractures that they couldn't even work on because of my brain trauma. -I DIED and was revived three times.... -I regularly have seizures. -I had to relearn how to eat, drink, breathe, move hands, walk... And the thing is............. I was lucky. I will never be the same. Pictures to follow
