  1. I saw that too and asked in chatbox. his website says he lives in Perrysburg now: http://www.putschracing.com Slightly OT: Doug Tabutt who is on there frequently lives in Twinsburg, OH which is right outside cleveland on the way to Akron.
  2. I've seen high mile ones or ones that have a "story" close to that range, "rebuilt" title ones are even cheaper: https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/d/2011-mustang-gt-wrapped/6682877742.html https://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/d/2011-mustang-gt-50-auto-87k/6670407846.html https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/d/2011-ford-mustang-gt-coupe-2d/6661620505.html honestly in this day and age of laser frame straighteners and 200K+ mile drive-trains are you going to be worried that much about a rebuilt title or 130K miles? The only thing I would be worried about is that a $12-15K mustang today is a less than $5K mustang 5 years from now because of mileage and title issues.
  3. I don't know, I haven't seen the video in question....but I think "targeted Harassment" actually goes deeper than just the isolated incident of his attendance at the hearing and attacking various people like Marco Rubio, Oliver Darcy, and Jack Dorsey. Jones announced beforehand that he was going to "confront his accusers", then he actually showed up and did that thing - which rises to the level of violating the policy. It's not the content that he yelled, it's that he kinda acted like a stalker, which is consistent with Dorsey's claim that they look at behavior and not content. Almost all of the lawsuits involving Jones, and in some ways his most controversial characteristic is that his audience is known to dangerously harass the targets of his rants. He was a contributing factor to the comet pizza shooting and he shared the personal identification information of Sandy Hook Victims parents to his audience who continue to harass those people by the thousands. His act of saying he's going to go disrupt the hearing and then doing it sends the message to his audience that the form of IRL harassment that infowars encourages is acceptable. There had to be some price to pay and the permaban was pretty much all that twitter could do to respond. or if you are a conspiracy theorist: he pissed on Jack's leg when Jack was bending over backwards to accommodate him and that was the last straw. Jack Dorsey went through a lot of effort and took some heat when he chose not to join the social media de-platforming of Infowars, and Jones still went after him for this stupid shadowbanning nonsense.
  4. If only this were really the end: https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2018/09/the-end-finally-comes-for-alex-jones/569578/
  5. +1 The problem I have with Chromebooks is that they don't store data on the machine - it's all cloud based stuff. If you are using it for just internet surfing and no heavy data or financial information it's probably fine, but if you have stuff you kinda want to control the security on like personally copyrighted material, company proprietary information, etc...you just don't have a lot of control over your own security.
  6. More than likely insurance coverage costs. If they are running on a shoe string budget then they might not be able to cover the cost of an event that runs the full 1/4 mile.
  7. $5K? I've seen them sell for $25K-$26K on the forums. Once they get over 30K miles on them for some reason the value goes through the floor. Here's one with 80K miles for $22K: https://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/d/2007-mustang-shelby-gt500/6677025825.html Those 2007-2009 GT500s were the ultimate old guy machine, I saw about a dozen different ads last week on them and 60% of them were "selling due to health reasons" with under 30K on the clock. They are a serious bargain if you are willing to put up with people going "Lol, iron block" (which the terminator cobra also uses so....) The only advantage I see to the 2003 cobra (besides nostalgia) over the 2007-2009 GT500 is the independent rear suspension (and considering it's fragility I'm not sure it's an advantage) and the "terminator" reputation.
  8. 8 seconds is no slouch. That car rocks!
  9. Plus she won't complain about how expensive it is the next time you want to buy yet another car. :gabe:
  10. I will second the recommendation for a dell latitude, I use an E7440 myself (a little older model) for work and Casey has a HP elitebook. Both of us had Lenovo before that and while "secure" they were garbage. I have used an XPS 2-1 and it's on my radar for when my personal ancient laptop craps out. More important than the laptop itself is the home setup. whatever you get, get a good docking station and two monitors with it. I have noticed that some of our legal department use 27" monitors with one of them turned 90 degrees so they can review long form (14") legal documents. That is usually also a touch screen monitor or at least stylus enabled.
  11. 100% agree, but if it is dealing with large enough client's there will be a data handler section of the client agreement that will outline the criteria. That is to say small companies aren't entitled to protection to, they should take the same care, it just falls to the employee to make an extra effort. Personally, I wouldn't have any company files on a personal asset anymore. If she wants a home computer to do work on that doesn't involve a remote desktop it should be a dedicated machine, and honestly apple isn't a bad choice since they are by their nature less susceptible to malware. They aren't more "secure" by any means in fact they are actually less, but most hackers skip over them because mac's aren't usually "business machines" so the market for creating software to attack them isn't viable.
  12. Clay, Step 1: she should go talk to the Law Firm's IT department and find out what the security criteria is for the work she would be doing. If the firm does any work for any large companies (esp in the financial industry) there are some very specific requirements and even some software that may not be Apple compatible. I am actually kind of surprised that anybody here would recommend a chromebook that uses the google drive for any kind of professional sensitive documents. I can tell you from personal experience that there are a lot of big companies that don't approve of any confidential info being stored on the google drive without their express permission and also use of it's partner services.
  13. If you are trying to sell the kawasaki, maybe bring it and a for sale sign. A motorcycle under neons in a sonic drive in is a pretty powerful image to help sell a bike.
  14. I don't know if you fully understand what is going on here based on your comments. What the Lawsuit is alleging: That Harvard's practice of using race as a factor is creating a disparate impact against a specific racial group What the Lawsuit is NOT alleging: That race is a wholly inappropriate factor to be used in admissions to Harvard. The outcome of this suit is not going to be that race is an inappropriate factor to consider, only the manner in which Harvard considers it may be inappropriate. The supreme court has ruled that colleges can use race as a factor, but they can't use it to hit a specific targeted percentage number in a class, the justice department isn't looking to overturn that decision but merely enforce it. Why the restriction on percentages? because they don't want institutions like Harvard turning away racially disadvantaged minorities because their "quota" was full when they have an abundance of qualified applicants. However, they don't want to keep a college from offering admissions to a specific race of people where there qualifications are tied to race based activities or their inclusion would add a unique perspective to the incoming class. Systematically giving a specific race a low personal score on a subjective metric because of race alone looks and functions a lot like a quota.
  15. How it was initially supposed to work: - Native Ads (Advertisers form their own tribe populate with their own content) - Branded Content ( pay C/H/M to write content for them). - Merch Sales the initial plan wasn't to monetize user submitted content like youtube does but just to rely on native advertising - basically top of the house makes money, everyone else is working for free. How it was eventually supposed to work: - once profitable they were supposed to open up monetizing content for reliable content providers through ad placement - opening up the merch store to be a marketplace for reliable merch peddlers where they just take a cut, in addition to their own merch. - Sale of aggregated data. What I really dislike: It's a competitive model. Rather than being an open space where everyone can co-exist, there was some artificial competition for likes and members that was directly tied to how your stuff was promoted on the site. So if you came in with thousands of followers already from another platform you were at the top of the chain right away, making it difficult for people to start up on the site. Plus without the ad revenue, you had to maintain a separate revenue stream on a separate site and DT would just be promotion for your other site. It also doesn't offer anything novel. Youtube offered public video hosting first and foremost - it filled a need. You could argue that DT filled the need for aggregate vehicle content, but channels on youtube already did that, and they were great about cross promoting which DT doesn't do well at all.
  16. Is this just Fantasy? Caught in a landslide No escape from reality Has he ever considered that if he wanted to not have bad news reported about him he should probably stop doing batshit crazy stuff? I thought this was an interesting read to throw on this shitpile: https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/28/opinions/mike-pence-plan-to-outlast-trump-dantonio-eisner/index.html
  17. grease all the zerk fittings lately?
  18. Is that the Alfa known as "Sophia"? or was that Al Leake's #69 car?
  19. yeah that's another problem with it - it's impossible to get original content out there and promoted, and even harder to compete with other more established brands like petrolicious for views. basically 1/2 the high profile ones used them as support for their other platforms (petrolicious, silodrome, etc...) while the other half was using it to drive traffic somewhere else where ad revenue could be harvested through just constant posting and linking. It was miserable.
  20. I liked drivetribe for all of 3 weeks. Couldn't deal with the platform bugs and bailed. I don't think I have posted on there for a year and a half.
  21. I still want that ride. Two fat guys in a fiero should kill two birds with one stone.
  22. if you can't find a guy, you can get 8.5x11 masking sheets pretty cheaply online. Just run them through your printer and use an exacto to cut them out after. Unless you need like 100 of them should be pretty easy.
  23. LS4 is a transverse FWD version of the LS v8 engine family. Because of this they have a special compact accessory drive that makes packaging them in tight engine bays easier. Not everybody can fabricate parts. Not disagreeing with you on quality, but for some people even a marginal part that works is better than making your own. If you want to have a v8 fiero and don't weld and don't have access to some basic fab tools then it's the only option. based on what I have seen with your car and things you posted in here, I kinda feel the 3800 supercharged is the best engine swap for these cars. It's not too tight in the engine bay, it makes a decent amount of power, it's junkyard cheap and plentiful, and there are some hop up parts. The thing about overpowering a fiero is eventually you are going to run up against the limitations of the chassis. With your 3800 swap right now you have about a 40/60 front/rear weight distribution, having a little rear weight bias is good, but too much plus too much power and you start to head into snap oversteer territory.
  24. yeah but....autoLOL. If you are going to go through the immense hassle it is to put an LS in a fiero, might as well walk the extra few steps and put a 3rd pedal and row your own box in there as well, right?
  25. From the link buck shared in chat, it seems most people doing an ls4 swap use the GM MR6/F40 6 speed manual which was used in the Pontiac G6 GT, Chevy cruise 1.8, Buick Regal, Buick Verano, and the Saab 9-3 and 9-5.
