  1. @PackJack Guy what are typical shipping times? If I order this soon, will I get it in time for my trip on October 14th? I'm in Fort Wayne Indiana.
  2. I've got Friday off and will make my way toward Beckley that day. I've stayed at the Beaver/Beckley Sleep Inn before, will probably get a room there again. Thought about bringing my new hammock and camping Friday night, but I don't want to drag all my camping stuff along just for one night.
  3. Drunken Grom rides around Fontana. What could go wrong?
  4. Reservations made. @Danimal I got rooms with two beds, so you're welcome to split them with me.
  5. I'm in Utah right now for work. I'll probably have time tonight to make the calls and get rooms.
  6. Was there a nickel in the toilet?
  7. Oh dang. I need to check off some states on the new bike. Lemme see if I can get days off work... @2talltim Still need some one to split a room with?
  8. Oops, I need to pay more attention. I bought a new one anyway...
  9. Count me in too lol, looking for one for the new bike...
  10. 10. I don't really care, I just want to feel involved.
  11. Yep, still around. Now has a wine bar too. No, I still have it. I made that mistake once. Although I'm sure it will get a lot less miles put on it now.
  12. I only noticed it being a problem when going over those stupid buckles on the highways, and really rough pavement. You know those mini speedbumps that happen every 100 feet from the road contracting and expanding, just big enough to jar you when you hit them unexpectedly. I'm going to get that revised throttle tube that lots of other people have installed on the GSXS forum, and I'm guessing that will take care of 90% of it. A lot cheaper than a power commander. Observations from the 150 miles ride home: It's very comfy. Stock seat is better than any other stock seat I've been on, but I'll still be buying a Corbin or Sargent when they decide to make one. More wind blast than I expected. But that windscreen isn't very big, may experiment with some bigger ones. Suzuki seems to have designed this bike with Americans in mind from the get-go. Comfy, good ergos, no need to upgrade the mirrors, you can actually see everything behind you. And the power.... this bike is a rocket ship. Course, I've never had a liter bike before. Oh, and on low beams, only the left headlight illuminates. Waiting for the "hey your headlight is out" comments to start.
  13. Too bad we're leaving for Wisconsin tomorrow, I'd have taken you out for a meal.
  14. Buyer got back to me, he put $500 on the title. I left it blank for him when I sold it, here in Indiana we do that all the time, they don't care how much you pay for something. However I'm guessing it won't be too long before Indiana starts to look for ways to get more money out of you. I'll put $500 on the form and mail it back, one of these days when I get bored. Nothing online to tie it back to either of us or the bike, he paid cash. If they don't like that, then guess what, I blew the engine up before I sold it, it was worthless. Wait, what? He fixed it and rides it around? Just like new? Hmm, good for him, he got a deal. Now I know, if I ever sell a car or bike to someone in Ohio again...
  15. Yeah, I know, none of you are lawyers so I fully expect snarky replies. I sold my Grom to a guy in Ohio recently. Today I get a letter from the Ohio Dept of Taxation, asking me to verify the selling price so they can bust him if he under-reported the price on the title. I'd like to tell them to fuck off. IMO, I paid sales tax on the bike once when it was new, they don't need to collect on it again. But that's just my opinion, fuck the government, etc. and all that. At the bottom of the letter it states "Any false representation of the price would be in violation of Ohio Revised Code section 2921.13. Violation of this section is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or six (6) months imprisonment, or both." Since you guys live in Ohio, is this common over there when you buy/sell used cars and bikes? Are they strict on it? I figure they aren't too strict, or else they would've required someone to sign for the letter. I probably will contact the guy I sold it to, and ask him what he reported as the price.
  16. Friday I went to a Suzuki dealer to check out the GSXS1000F, and I had no idea they were having a demo day too. So I rode one, and a V-Strom 1000. They brought a 2017 SV650, but wouldn't let anyone demo it. They said it was one of the prototypes, the dealer also had their sale model on the floor. They told me all the SV's coming into the country were sent directly to dealers and that there weren't enough to go around for demos. I first rode the GSXS1000F. I've had my eye on this bike for awhile, and am seriously considering buying it. The ride route was pretty short, maybe 15-20 minutes. Plus riding in a group all while navigating Indianapolis traffic, it didn't leave much brain power to catalog the tons of observations coming at me. Now I've only ridden SV650's and my V-strom 650. This inline 4 was very different, wow, so much power. After riding v-twins forever I feel like I gotta re-learn how to ride on an inline 4. It wasn't much of a ride, but it was comfy, suspension seemed good. Throttle did seem very sensitive. Lots of new owners have been complaining of snatchy throttles on these things. The throttle did seem a little goofy, kinda scary over bumps. The bike is very lightweight and 'flickable'. Was overall smaller than I expected it to be, which isn't a bad thing. Tank width between my legs and knees seemed a little wide, but could get used to quickly. It sure feels like you're riding a naked model on the F. When you look down, all you see is straight down the windscreen, and nothing else. I think a taller touring screen would be a first thing to order, at least for me. I told myself if I was 100% in love after the test ride, I'd walk over and buy one immediately. The dealer had a new F model in Blue inside, and they had a $1500 off sale too. After the ride I walked away about 90% in love with the bike. So maybe after looking at pictures of them all summer I'll go looking for a deal. Lots of people there were interested in the GSXS bikes, so I suspect this will be a popular bike for Suzuki. If Suzuki acknowledges a problem with a snatchy throttle and does something about it, I'll jump right in line to buy one. Second ride was a V-Strom 1000. I loved it. Not much to say about it, other than what people have said before: Size and weight of a 650, but power of a 1000. This would be an excellent upgrade to replace my 06 V-Strom 650. Granted, I didn't have luggage or a passenger on it either.
  17. Well I did ride to the Outer Banks first.
  18. Thanks for letting me hang with you guys.

    Halo 5

I haven't even played Halo 4 yet. Oh, and I don't have an Xbox one. Guess that won't work.
  20. Affirmative Action. Equal Opportunity. Somehow you're supposed to adhere to both.
  21. This is from December 23rd, 2012.... Had just got the arctic suit and had to test it out, nice and warm.
  22. Well, I only put one bike inside. I'm still riding the Grom until it starts to snow, then that will go inside too. The V-Strom will stay out in the garage so I can ride it whenever the urge hits. No trailer here, but I didn't ride the Grom home after I bought it....
  23. Here's it's first flight. I've got everything to convert it to electric, except for batteries.... and time to work on it.
  24. Anyone else put theirs up yet? I guess I'm a little early....
