  1. Rode here yesterday. 60 is closed near 62. We didn't go an explore so I don't know if there is a way around or not. Think it said closed for 90 days. Was a bummer.

Yes, sign says closed 90 days....starting Oct. 1. So Merry Christmas!

Somebody marked a detour...sorta. I haven't checked it lately to see if Holloweeners have planked it yet.

  2. Loved the link....paying taxes, yeah, and sometimes they slip township trustees a bit more to help care for the back twp roads that they may live on.....

Always got a kick out of the car parked just beyond the farm house....one of Der boys, chust hasn't joined the church yet. Church? Yeah, look for the odd shaped (enclosed) wagon....it carry's the benches and such for the next service....which ain't necessarily every Sunday.

Looking for work? I know some folks that make good money, hauling Amish.

    Smiling here.

  3. This is a very nice route...I will run it again, 'Cept in the opposite direction. "Fast" wants to do it next weekend if weather permits. Could be a threesome for we'uns....Blackbird to scrub in new back tire, bought a dual compound, Fast on his Ducati....although he tole me he just got a pristine ZX from 90's (?) and Jim on the Busa.

Not many days left of decent weather. This was around 150 miles from my place and back.

  4. Zero deer.....ya need to ride with us....see today's ride report..."we'uns"

Back to the gun show....went early. Breakfast was served, $4.00 and got a plate full. Raffle tickets, I shouldn't have but I did....never win anything.....saw several nice things. Overpriced Moose-gant sniper rifle, purported to be matching #'s, the stock was stripped down and finished in natural wood color...I woulda preferred the original cherry red look. Priced at $1300. Regular Moose at $179 and $229. Again, thinking hunnert dollar would be right price. Garrand way cheaper than "Fin" in Ashland....by a thousand. Tempted, but I purposely DID NOT bring a lot of money....just because I knew I would find sumptin'.

Got in actually before start time....an absolutely beautiful flint lock sold for $200.00 the guy was unloading his stuff and somebody grabbed it before he got to put it on the table. This guy's wares were exceptional....I hesitated at picking them up because I didn't have my cotton gloves....didn't want to leave oil from my hand on these guns...they were that nice.

This year's show was smaller than last, not much in the way of a crowd, but I was real early. I only found three I neede, hence no $ brought. Okay condition SKS with scope and bi-pod mounted to chrome barrel....long barrel. Guy mentioned match rifle....uhmm, $495. Tempted, but moved on.....smiled at the AR priced at $1800. Just smiled and moved on. Several WWII items.

One in particular caught my eye, tucked up in the corner of the stage....almost, almost pulled the trigger, pardon-the-pun. Nice package.

As usual, talked and talked, business cards in hand and a few phone numbers in my pocket.....conforming to the wife's wishes and no purchase today....see how that works, today, underlined I bought nuthin'.......numbers tucked away, and the conversation has me at a coupla long bows, a crossbow and a nail driver....next weekend, she didn't say anything about next weekend right?

I enjoy the show. Small, but I enjoy....chit-chatted and saw a few old friends.....even talked sportie cars....coupla of 'em hadn't seen me in awhile....nope no more racy cars....into cickles now.

Saw a coupla Dirty Harry's, smiled as I thought of the movie....yeah, Punk, make my day.

Plan on it for next year.....

  5. Oh, and momma's new cruiser doesn't have ABS, I thought the black Spirits had ABS....nope, a deer jumped out in front of her from the dense woods....skidding and left black mark on pavement from rear tire...releasing brake just at the right time to catch it...Nice job momma! Several more deer later just past Dresden....we pulled up and waited as the parade went by.

Did I tell ya not to be out near dusk around here?

  6. Didn't organize the annual Leaf Tour. Retired from organizing and the leafies ain't cooperating...not turning the usual time. So we'uns went on our own thing.

Here's the route...y'all can pick a spot on yer own to connect to this routing.

Leaving scenic Killbuck, traveled USR62 to SR83 and south to Coshocton, nope not Roscoe this time...went to Bob Evans instead (near Roscoe) left from there on 16/83 and left at light following 83 south.

83, 208(?) and 93 open again. We stayed on 83 south thru New Concord (where 83 was closed, but not anymore) and continued on past SR146 (Cumberland?) and that was my alert flag....staying on 83 south looking for and to SR284....headed back north on SR284 and back to 146. If I do it again....I'd run the route reverse direction as there was a difficult right hand uphill hairpin for newbies at the turn off from SR83 onto SR284.

SR284 has very few side roads houses or traffic....you do come behind the Wilds, a back entrance maybe(?). We saw a herd of buffalo from 284. Nice panoramic views, again should run it the other direction for better view. Took 146 into Zanesville and picked up SR666. Itz open again too. Ran 666 to Dresden and went over to SR60. For you Kershocton and/or Tusc Co. peeples you can go straight at the end of 666 onto 208 or was it 209?....go straight at the stop sign and follow that road back to SR93 and SR83, then yer own way back to wherever.

We'uns went out to 60 from Dresden. Under SR16 and 60 to Warsaw. The Spring Mtn. CR22 to CR19 way back to Killbuckia.

Columbus folk, y'all could do 16....or boring i70 to SR83.....or how about.....USR62 to Martinsburg and 541. Take 541 to Tunnel Hill and SR60 or..... Just stay on 541 to Coshocton and pick up 83 from there....or....

Go-fasts you will see yer part easily. SR83 and SR284 sparsely populated and twisty....very nice road.

Bye fer now....happy Holidays, should I not get back on for awhile.

  7. The latest closing of SR60. It is near USR62. The local way around it is: go up towards SR520 (west of barricades on 60), just beyond 520 look for the Sportsman's Club on the left. Look for CR53 and follow it. South. Someone has marked the local route with blue 8x10 signs with spray painted white arrows and the sometimes orange painted arrows on the pavement. Don't count on the signs staying up long....so memorize the route instructions. CR53 turns into CR323 at the Coshocton line. Same road, different #. Follow it. Do not veer off to the left as that is a gravel road...stay on the paved (albeit somewhat rough) and 323 will bring you out onto CR19. Left at stop sign on 323 onto CR19 will take you to Layland and SR60. Right at the aforementioned stop sign and you head towards Spring Mtn. onto of the ridge...itza group of houses. You will turn right and then second left, which is CR22. CR22 takes you down the other side and eventually to Warsaw. Enjoy the road....well except for the CR53 and CR323 bit.

Prolee posted this somewhere, but it dos belong here in State Route 60 closing.

  8. No problem.

Laffing, as .... If that road project is where I think it is.....there is an oil field road/access on left in front of (where i think the construction is).... in the olden days of the 4x4 and off road playing...well around here, some roads too.....we would cut into them uncharted waters. I think this one brings ya out in a guy's back yard on a Coshocton Co. Twp Rd.....then north a quick squirt and you'll bounce out on USR62.

To avoid the latest closing....heading west towards 520 from 60... Just past 520 on left is the Sportsman Club and County Road (CR) 53....run it along back thru the holler....road turns into Coshocton CR 323 (?).....it will rattle the plastics body work, but if ya slow down, not so much....it is passable. It will bring you out on CR19. Turn right at 19 and you are going to Spring Mtn and Warsaw. Left at that stop sign....then you come back to 60 at Layland. That back road is purty this time of year....I used it one Fall Leafy thing when it was in better shape.

Anybody need 'shine' run, I know lotsa back roads.....itza joke son.
