  1. Nope, not rare at all really. I have them running around my neighborhood / yard every spring. I have pics somewhere of one my Chihuahua chased across the yard and up into a tree last year. I was surprised it could fly that high up in a relatively short distance. Jeff
  2. He picked up right before lunch and Steve (Yellow C6) said he was going to make sure the car started off 0-1 on the way home lol Jeff
  3. For the camera geeks, what I like about these is that they are at ISO 6400 with zero NR (I was out doing yard work last night and saw him as the sun was already going down). Since he was tearing up a log on the ground beside my house I couldn't get a very clear shot so not crazy about the pics over-all but still a cool bird (Pileated Woodpecker). http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/DSC_2587_zps0c5bd72d.jpg http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/DSC_2569_zpsbf36fc71.jpg http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/DSC_2558_zps2367df6b.jpg
  4. My fav is #230. Which Macro do you use? It is on my short(er) list but haven't decided. I had the Sigma 150/2.8 in the past and it was great so leaning that way again, Jeff
  5. I have only seen one around my house (So far) this year. These two were down in the Smoky Mountains a couple weeks ago. Jeff

  7. Did you post a different one on FB? I haven't got a good Macro lens yet for my Nikon but its on the short-list. Keep them coming Jeff

  10. For the relatively nominal power gain at the wheels? I don't remember the exact #s but from memory Wiggs' car went from high 500s (58x?) AWD to low 600s (62x?) RWD. Jeff
  11. Keeps mice out of my house I told the guy that does hunt back there that for every one he shoots he has to bring in 3 or 4 owls to make up the difference in the # of rodents eaten. Jeff
  12. We were finishing up breakfast yesterday when I spotted this guy out the window searching for breakfast himself: http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/Back-yard%20Coyote/DSC_2454_zps128ede42.jpg http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/Back-yard%20Coyote/DSC_2478_zps6fe816cc.jpg http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/Back-yard%20Coyote/DSC_2462_zpsc9ca531f.jpg http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p784/Jeff_Yetzer/Back-yard%20Coyote/DSC_2458_zps07972179.jpg
  13. Terri found out that her Doctor wouldn't sign-off on her racing the car in the late fall (Well after the built engine / TT Kit was installed) due to a medical issue. Hence, Bob F/AllPro is the wheel-man. Jeff
  14. Took this while waiting for all the awesomeness to appear in the sky last night: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8250/8650801834_47c10ddef5_b.jpg
  15. I don't know my snakes so not sure what kind but found him at Alum Creek: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8125/8650765088_260033f553_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8393/8650763716_36abf55cc0_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8399/8649674269_3df89321f5_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8251/8649667277_95d7f4c50f_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8402/8650768798_5ca0dd7d35_b.jpg
  16. The first two were the only ones taken on a very over-cast day but the others were in direct sunlight. I have looked at the BB but I am on the fence. Most of the time I am not getting very close to whatever it is so not sure how effective it would be. I never use a tripod so the less to carry around the better Jeff
  17. Few more: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8123/8608193338_e76aa3fc63_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8402/8608374182_e5334376f4_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8540/8607277245_3a010d9239_b.jpg
  18. Galena. All those should be really common across central Ohio though. The Osprey from the other thread is the only one you will probably only see at Alum or Hoover (Both in Galena/Delaware). Jeff
  19. Thanks! I hate it when you get things like poles or wires or signs or in this case those big orange barrels that sit on the side of the ponds in the picture. Normally they get cropped out but in this case having it in the background kinda worked with the reflection. Jeff
  20. An assortment of recent back-yard birds: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8257/8601031321_413a75928a_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8381/8602131816_7afece24d5_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8245/8602124786_b2bdd077e7_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8394/8601023283_03162bfd6d_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8123/8601028131_5ca0cbb98c_b.jpg
