I'd rent the Nikon 1 V3 with the new 70-300 lens. I think it is like 4" but on a camera that small I doubt anyone would be breaking out a ruler lol. That gets you out to 800mm with pretty decent AF. Awesome car We've had quite a few in but can't remember seeing a white one yet. Here is one we had in right before Christmas with just upgraded exhaust and tune: 2014 M by JMYphotography, on Flickr

Yeah, she came close a few times lol Poor car took a beating for its first time out of the house. Jeff

Couldn't agree more. I still enjoy getting out to shoot cars / landscapes / wildlife to "Get away" now and then but there is nothing better than looking back over a year of pics of your kids and literally watch them grow up. Nice pics Jeff
-
Thanks! Nice shots as well. I really like your first one -- I haven't tried any night-sky shots yet but looks like fun. Very jealous of your Italy pics. When I was there I didn't have a camera worth taking so pics were kinda blah. Jeff

Was off a couple days last week so had the chance to get out and look for some good color at sunrise again. Here are a few shots from a 17-degree sunset that wasn't a total bust: JMY_1393 by JMYphotography, on Flickr JMY_1314 by JMYphotography, on Flickr JMY_1373 by JMYphotography, on Flickr JMY_1405 by JMYphotography, on Flickr

Thanks All those are with the D800 and most are with the 35/1.4 or 85/1.4 or 200/2. I have strobes at my house but outside of them I prefer the look of really shallow DOF for everything else. Jeff

Great pics It's funny that when my longest lens is 200mm I see all kinds of things nice and close. When I had my 500mm everything was 100 yards away and still had to be cropped to death lol How you like the MK II ? Jeff
-
We have done a few of them -- All keeping the stock turbo and doing the upgraded intake / exhaust / intercooler around it. Tuning done via SCT and all have gone completely smooth. Jeff

Oh, and for those wanting a nice looking set of winter wheels those Miro wheels are really priced nicely: http://mirowheels.com/gallery/
-
Finally got my Avant Garde price sheet today so for anyone wanting a quote on a set or a quote on a set including tires and M&B email me at: service@ipsmotorsports.net Include size / color / vehicle / etc. Thanks, Jeff
-
Joe -- You don't need to drop the car off for a M&B. It typically takes 45min to an hour so some prefer not to wait that long but you can certainly wait if you want. We are "Officially" open until 6pm but are incredibly flexible with our client's schedules. Jeff PS -- Our M&B rates start at $14 and go from there depending on tire size.
-
Getting pricing from them now and I will let you know a price on a set. Got an email back from Miro and it is from my old 5Zigen rep which I used to order a TON from wayyyy back in the day lol. They have a few really nice looking wheels and seem inexpensive. Jeff
-
Damn, they do have quite a few wheels that I really like. Waiting for them to open to talk pricing... Jeff
-
We roll the rears every week here but rarely do the fronts because they are typically much more thin/flimsy. They can still be done its just the odds of having issues are much higher. For anyone wanting the rears done let me know and I will get you taken care of Jeff
-
Good, a few I hadn't heard of / thought of which is what I was looking for. I'll do a little research on them today and set-up accounts and get some demo's in here. Thanks, Jeff
-
Working on a setting up accounts for wheels that are better fits for all the Euro clients that we are doing so much more with and wanted to get everyone's feedback. We have VMR and Vossen now (And obviously Volk / Rays and HRE and others that cross over) but always good to hear brands or lines that seem to be the favorites in the BMW / Mercedes / Audi / VW / Volvo circles. If you have a specific model you like feel free to include that as well TIA, Jeff

Another one: 226.xx mph is the fastest the car has ever gone Jeff

You can use *Stronger* speedlights if you didn't want to buy strobes and then just pick up stands and large softboxes and maybe a strip. The transmitter / slave set-ups are pretty cheap so that part is easy. Recycle times and such aren't much of a concern for static shots of cars so its just picking a flash that can provide enough light. I forget his name but the guy that shoots for the G-club that has come out to the shop typically uses speedlights and maybe 2-3 umbrellas IIRC. Jeff PS -- Me personally I would use Einstein strobes and really big softboxes with a single strip and play with angles and heights and such until you get the look you want.
-
Nice shots If I get lucky and we have a slow(er) week at the shop I might join you in Maryland if you are going out. Jeff
-
My favs are 3,5,7 I am jealous -- I haven't had a chance to just go look for good spots and shoot cars in forever. Keep em coming Jeff

I was sitting there taking pics of my kids on the dance floor (My own family pics are the only reason I ever bring my camera to a wedding) when they got the boot for the "Formal" dances so I took a few just because. On a side-note weddings during OSU games = bad idea. Jeff
