I made mine out of cedar at my old house. It's ok to use more modern pressure treated wood as they no longer contained formaldehyde...but it is still recommended you use a plastic liner. Might be a little more.flexable to do individual plants in pots around your porch depending on your situation. I have had good luck with square foot gardening when I dabbled with it in the past.
