I would as well.. just make sure your computer is locked up and they can't wander into your pc with reason to get revenge.

I certainly agree with that statement being said about the 4AG motor. In 86' this motor was quite a feat for toyota although the B series and etc motors that honda has put out makes the 4AG obsolete because of the outdated head design. The rear end on these are very similar to a Ford 9" except just a bit smaller. I know they don't hold a great amount of power but I believe I should be fine. I recently rebuilt the LSD and rear-end myself so I know it's in a good condition, but I might take the step to get my R&P Cryo'd just for reassurance. To be honest, I'm a bit worried about my transmission, the T50 stock in these corolla's are known to be a bit weak so hopefully it will stand up to the stress.

Maaco uses Enamel Paints.. that's all that needs to be said. If you're planning to get your car painted after Maaco's shitty paints are already laid down on your car you can almost forget about it. You're going to have to strip the entire car down to bare metal to get any good paint to adhere without reacting to the Enamel paint. *EDITED* I meant Enamel paints.

UPDATE #1 7.12.06 http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC070023.JPG http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC070013.JPG http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC070016.JPG http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC070019.JPG http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC070021.JPG Today I basically took everything else out of the engine bay; The intake mani, exhaust mani, the engine harness, any other lines and wires that I would need out of the way or need removed. I decided I'm going to refurbish my oil cooler lines and have the unit itself repainted so it looks new again. Where it sits today it's basically ready to come out.. I just have to take the bolts out of the transmission belhousing and take the engine off the mounts and pull her out but I really need to get my engine hoist and engine stand back before I can pull it out. When the engine's out and getting worked on at the machine shop I plan to completely strip anything unnecessary in my engine bay after the build, and giving the bay a good detail. Also I will be repainting a lot of the parts and accessories that I will be re-using. I am very meticulous about detail, and if anything's going to get done, it's getting done the right way. As you can see the garage where my car is, is a mess but that's expected. I expect my parts to be here in the next couple of days, so I will keep everyone updated on that too.

Yeah, it's not cheap.. and I could've turbo'd my car for around 600 dollars easily but I have no desire to. The sound of the open carbs and NA power is rediculous.. not to mention the amazing throttle response. I wanted to keep the motor true to it's ERA and this is the only way to go There won't be much left to hook back up when the engines done.. the whole harness will be eliminated along with all the emissions garbage. haha, you know it.. that's what i'm going for

Yeah, about 115 to the flywheel.. I dyno'd at 100rwhp and 99ftlbs tq a year or two ago. With the parts i'm going with it will put me pretty close to 200'ish to the flywheel. I'm going with pretty similar specs to the Formula Atlantic series 4AG motors and they put out roughly 250hp.

Well, I'm not totally sure where to start with this one but I enjoy reading and keeping up about everyone else's projects and I figured I might as well let people in on my project as well. A lot of you may recognize my car and just for a little backround, I bought my car almost 3 years ago for 1800 dollars and in much worse condition than it is in now. With thousands of dollars invested into my car it has seen many many hours of wrenching and dedication. But to give everyone a little history on the car I had problems with my thermostat almost a year ago from now which unfortunately blew the headgasket between the 3rd and 4th cylinder and caused the car to overheat. Along with this problem I suspect that it might have warped the head slightly but I took the chance when replacing the OEM headgasket the first time and decided not to get it milled and prepped. Well, the headgasket lasted almost a year and I found the car having similar symptoms I had the year before, and it's no suprise to me that i'm going to have to do it all over. In light of the situation I decided i'm going to just pull the engine, give it a nice rebuild and build the motor up how i've always imagined. With the money I've put away in my savings for the past couple of years I went ahead and purchased quite a long list of parts which include: TODA Camshafts 304 intake / 8.5 lift 288 exhaust / 8.5 lift TODA Timing Belt TODA Valve Springs TRD 82mm .5 Head Gasket 11.5:1 82mm Pistons Weber 45mm DCOE Carbs Largeport Carb Adaptor MSD 6AL ARP Everything I'm not sure exactly what kind of numbers I will be looking at with this setup but I'm looking forward to some pretty good results. The block itself will be completely acid dipped, shotpeened, blueprinted, 5 angle valve job, honed etc etc, thanks to a good buddy of mine, derrick, who said he'd lend me a hand with the engine work. The majority of the parts are already on order and in transit to my home but I still have to order some small odds and ends. With the reassurance that my most important parts were on their way I decided I would go ahead and get a start on tearing stuff out of my engine bay. Before: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/PB030102.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/PB030106.jpg http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC060001.JPG http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC060006.JPG First bit of progress http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC060011.JPG http://www.portal.conceptual-x.com/andy/buildup/PC060008.JPG drained the engine and radiator, removed the radiator, electricfan, intake, battery, and other odds and ends. I realize it's a small step in progress but getting started is always the hard part I plan to keep this updated as much as possible.. I want to get the car done as soon as I possibly can, seeing how this season has just begun and I certainly don't want to sit out.

Like the title states, I'm looking for a lead on some used IN WORKING CONDITION Twin Weber 45mm DCOE Carbs for my engine buildup. Not sure how many people around this area have any idea from who or where I can get them but if you know let me know ASAP.

Verticle Adventures is a nice indoor place with plenty of different routes to climb but unfortunately there wall isn't very tall. I worked at the Dick's Sporting Goods in Easton and it has the 3rd tallest indoor wall in the US. It's 46.5 feet tall with more routes than i'm sure you're able to skillfully climb. It's 5 dollars per climb but 3 dollars if you're a Dick's score card member. You can also buy a group of climbs at once and you get a little bit of a discount too, but I assure you.. it's well worth it compared to the Sawmill Dick's, and Verticle Adventures. I don't work there anymore but thankfully I still get the hookups with the employees I know there.

I wish I could find the thread about how many kids in a gym ages 5-8 you think you could knock out before they could get you down.. I honestly think that was the funniest thread I've personally ever read.

DIVX is another codec that's actually pretty good and relatively common.. you can just google DIVX or XVID and you can find their website and download either the codecs or an actual DIVX player.. whichever works for you.
