  1. Most fwd v6 cars are a bitch to work on. I bought one off Wease and did some maintenance before eventually just going with a newer car. Changing plugs was a pain in the ass. They have an issue with rev-hang, where the rpms hang high between shifts. The fix is it drill a tiny hole through a coin and insert it in some vacuum hose attachment, but then my experience was rpms dropped to quickly. Maybe it was the other way around, I forget. Headlights fogged up like every other 90's car.. I tried wetsanding but failed and bought a new pair. The trunk struts like to wear out early. Changing brakes is weird, they have a goofy retaining clip over the pads. Maybe it's normal, but I've never seen that. Jacking them up in the first place sucks with those low-hanging rockers, and dirt/mud likes to cake up behind them.

Other than weird old car shit they're a blast to drive for what they are. Secondary intake flaps open up at a higher rpms and you get a little kick of power like vtec or something.

  2. Brian. If it loosens up all the time why wouldn’t you just have it welded in.

    It's on my list.

Ffs We got it already, you don’t like em. Some do.

Don't get me wrong, I love opening them up to scream, but if I could go back I wouldn't do it again.

  3. I had QTP's and hated them for all the reasons I listed above. I tore them out and installed noweeds diverters because they shut off the unused path while opening the other, and it takes like one second. Two years have gone by and I wish I would have just got a proper exhaust. The band clamps loosen after a week, leaking and sounding all shitty. I rarely even open them anymore. My stock NPP exhaust is already 2.5", has the flappy thing inside the muffler, and the fuse is pulled to keep it open. It's basically straight-piped and sounds great as-is.

  4. The motors like to give out every couple years, but while they work those things take forever to open or close and you have to hold the switch the entire time. No big deal until you see a hidden cop 50ft away and you're in full berserker mode. Also, they'll leak while closed.. doesn't sound great. I'd rather just have a proper exhaust tbh.
  5. I had those Pirellis on my Mustang and my fucking god those tires suck for any spirited driving. Probably mostly because Fordlol gave a ~430 horsepower car the same skinny 235mm-wide tires as any given boring sedan on the road.

I'm on my 3rd set of them and I've always been so happy I don't want to risk trying anything else.

I had these on my Camaro and they're great sporty/all-season tires (if that's a thing). They grip just enough for slight shenanigans, but mine were 285mm wide. I don't recommend autocrossing with them though.. they're far from awesome in that environment. If he's not doing any kind of track shit I'd definitely check these out. However, nothing beats a good set of 100TW Summer tires, unless he's worried about getting more than 1-2 seasons out of them.
