  1. You can find clean S60Rs for a fraction of that and they have the comfiest seats of any car I've ever been in (including Doc's Bentley). GROM makes a ~$100 bluetooth thingy that T's into the nav cd-rom player and it worked great in mine. Cons are they're simply old cars, but are a couple bolt-ons and canned tune away from a care-free 400hp. I miss awd turbo.
  2. There are fan boys for everything, just take this thread for example. My stubborn ass will not buy any new truck, nor will I buy anything but 10 year old Chevy. New trucks are stupid prices for too much technology, it’s a truck, part of a truck’s appeal to me should be simplicity, but that’s not what the masses seem to want. I’ll stick to my 15 year old truck without a payment and look like a broke dick.

I love having fans blow cool air on my asshole through perforated leather while I'm asking android auto to tell me a funny fart joke while drinking a beer from one of the 11 cup holders on my way to the river with a pile of kayaks in the bed to go get shitfaced on the water. Ford, Chevy, fuckin whatever.. New trucks are the shit and worth every penny.

  3. I thought DoD was okay if you kept up on oil changes. My wife's 08 Avalanche has just over 150k on it and runs very well with working DoD. Though I may look into that thing Brian linked to see if it would work for mine. Sorry OP, I'm not much help here to you.

I'm not up to speed on the technicalities but I've read AFM causes GM engines to burn oil. So yeah, changing the oil often may prevent issues, but I'd rather circumvent/delete AFM and have a truck that doesn't burn (as much) oil in the first place.

That Range AFM disabler works on any OBDII GM vehicle, so I'm sure it'll work on your wife's ride. It's what all the truck bros use and it leaves no trace once unplugged. Once I get out of warranty in a couple years I'm going to delete all that garbage with a cam and other toys.

On-topic, like others have said, dealerships are having trouble keeping a solid inventory with covid because new cars/trucks aren't being built as quickly. Demand is high and supply is low so I imagine getting any kind of discount do be challenging.

  4. I hear plenty of people making it to 150k+ all stock with DoD enabled but also hear some horror stories. I've been running a $180 Range AFM disabler since I bought my truck and have nothing but positive vibes and shit.. it just stays in V8 mode all the time without all the fuckery. Gas mileage is better for some reason..? GM sucks at this whole 4-cylinder shutoff nonsense, so yeah, bypass that and you're good (ideally with a new cam and tune, but this thing works 100% on the cheap).
  5. Other than that, they’re pretty indestructible.

Yours has been down like half the time you've owned it, including right now, but okay Derry.

Take Brians’ opinion with a half grain of salt. My car has a big cam, polyurethane suspension, coil-overs and slicks. A stock car doesn’t feel quite as evil.

Any 20 year-old Viper is going to feel like a high-powered farm tractor relative to any modern'ish car, C6Z included.

  6. He has a second gen GTS. They're not luxurious nor anywhere near as cozy and forgiving as most cars on the road today; They're very industrial-feeling and the car in general feels like it wants to kill you. After taking a spin in his I can admittedly say I don't have the balls to own one.
