There were some cool fight scenes but it had weird japanese acting and i turned it off half ways through.

Did you check for dangling hoses or wires that may have come undone? Sounds like the maf or iac are getting whacky or no readings.

I'm still stuck in the 90's where obvious shit like that was doable/easy. What is calibrated about them that doesn't allow them to be swapped?

See if you can find someone else with a ridgeline and swap clusters just for a test drive to see if it still happens.

Years ago my dryer stopped working out of the blue. The light would turn on and it made noises like it wanted to work, but it didn't move. I called a repair man who came out and gave the inside blade things a little push with his hand while holding the start button and it started right up. It's been working flawlessly ever since. It was like $90 just to have him come out, he even said he felt bad taking my money for that. Lesson learned.
