  1. The applicated for Maxim went thru; the button to submit for the Stuff magazine doesn't work; you click it but it doesn't do anything. Hopefully this Maxim one will work; last time I tried I didn't get the magazine (but did get a few other freebie mags that I ordered as well).
  2. Where is everyone getting these prices? The ONLY prices I've seen posted are speculations, not anything even close to concrete.
  3. Are all GEN-I SBC's and 305's push-in studds?? LT1's and LS1's are screw in studds stock.
  4. - CSI (Vegas....never even tried watching the spin-off's) - Survivor, though the season ended a couple weeks ago - DVR Family Guy every night - South Park sometimes That's about it. Me and the g/f watch Animal Cops when it is on Animal Planet and we have nothing else to watch
  5. But seriously, if it can be proven they beat him up for being a "satinist" rather than just being dressed in goth, then that IS a hate crime (by the usage of assult do to race/religion). The whole my alliegance is to Satan thing is retarded.....yeah, there's a place you want to go! But that doesn't mean the guy deserves to have the crap beat out of him for it.
  6. Yes, they offer a business class as well. Costs are different, and I have no clue what they are anymore. They never let us know until they do it, but I'd imagine so. It's always back and forth between WOW and RR. I've heard the sys admins have been doing some speed tests, seeing what the system can handle and what the modems can be stable to....and it's definately higher than 4Mbps. I've had a few co-workers say they were pulling insanely high speeds with their "Advanced Modems" aka telephony modems. I have no interest in a home phone, so I don't have that. But I imagine that was due to some early .bin files that hadn't quite been properly tweeked yet, as we just started offering VOIP very recently.
  7. He's going to replace it on Friday. I'm moving my car out of its garage spot so he has a place to work on it. I know he is starting early Friday so he can get it apart in time to be able to get the flywheel resurfaced.
  8. It's funny, I bought a Craftsman Pro nut driver for my drill. The POS stripped out after a week. I take it back, and they won't cover it, as they consider it a "power tool." Now, if I had purchased the drill adapter that allows 1/4 sockets to fit, and used a socket, they would have covered that under warranty. Go figure.
  9. I can say that's the first Saturn I wouldn't makes fun of myself for if I owned one. Too bad the powertrain is pretty lame, the car itself looks niffty.

    Your Horoscope

They have the dates wrong. I'm born on March 21st, and I'm an Aries, NOT a pisces. http://www.astrology-online.com/aries.htm http://www.elore.com/Astrology/Study/aries.htm Here are all the correct dates, straight from horoscope.com
  11. I don't think he tried adjusting the clutch cable, but I think he manually was engaging it under the car and it was sticking then (dunno, never tried it). The car doesn't have any problems getting into gear.
  12. </font>I think I was looking at a different article. Some say cast, some say forged. IMO it wouldn't make sense at all to put cast pistons w/ a forged crank and titanium rods. This is supposed to be the press release, which states forged pistons We'll see I suppose.
  13. It's my roomate's daily beater, but since it is acting up and my daily is down, he is now driving his Moostang and I gotta drive the Rex. Basically, when the car is cold, the clutch just sticks when you press it in, for a good 30 seconds or so. Let the car warm up 15 minutes, and it will stick for 1-5 seconds. Drive on the freeway for 10 minutes, it doesn't stick much. Other things to note: - Even when the clutch has been engaged for a while and everything is warmed up, it slips if given too much gas. The colder the car is, the more it will want to slip. This makes me believe that the PP isn't putting full pressure on the disc. - Car has 184k on it. Motor decided to put a rod through the block at 157k, when we put the new motor in this past summer, the clutch looked fine, and worked great until a couple weeks ago. Now it is just getting progressivly worse. (yes, my roomate drives this car 200 miles/day during the week, which is why he bought it as the Mustang was too expensive to drive). - When the clutch engages, it seems to be at the top of the pedal, and has kind of a lumpy feel to it. We are guessing it is a problem with either the TO bearing or the pressure plate. My roomate will be pulling the tranny to replace the clutch/pp/to bearing and resurface the flywheel. But if there is any "common" problem that this could be (he said he checked the cable for binding, and that's not it), it would be helpful to know. He is pretty gentle/easy on this car, so this isn't abuse related (motor/distributor/brakes didn't seem to care much about that....this car is a money pit).
  14. Just pull up the modem's IP and see what Bin file it has....duh. tongue.gif Just pull up the modem's IP and see what Bin file it has....duh. tongue.gif Of course, rebooting is easier.
  15. LOL, all the hype, none of the performance. My WOW connection is a very consistant 4400k down. For good test results for faster connections, I recommend: http://chi.speakeasy.net My consistant results Power cycling does NOTHING for you modem unless it needs to update it's bin file. The bin file allows the modem to know what speeds to send/receive, how to register to the network, etc. Modems can update this on their own, but sometimes are picky and need to be rebooted. You won't get extra performance from power cycling; you'll simply get full performance if the bin file didn't install fully/correctly. BTW, saying RR alone doesn't mean a lot, as both Insight and Time Warner offer Road Runner. They are nothing but a middle man = more cost. Warner and Insight still do all the head-end stuff to make it work, just RR does the tech support, website, and e-mail stuff. This IMO screws the customer some, as it will technical problems can result more in finger pointing than just fixing the problem. I should also add that you honestly aren't going to notice any real difference, if any difference at all, between a 4MBps and 5Mbps connection. What I wish was focused more on was upload speeds, as that you WILL tell a difference. But still, for residential internet, cable is by far the best thing going. I feel sorry for those suffering with DSL.
  16. It's the placement of the engine in relation to the rear axle. This is why a Porsche 911 is considered a rear engine car, yet a 914 is a mid-engine.
  17. But as usual, any time it is warm, it rains.
  18. Forged pistons + forged crank + titanium rods + high compression = sounds nitrous friendly to me. Hmmmm, wonder how it would take to a 250 shot. And since the battery is moved to the rear, I'm sure a fuel cell would fit in its old spot quite nicely...........
  19. "America’s first (and still the only) mid-engine exotic supercar." No, that would be the Vector W8. And the Vector M12. Though neither would perform at the levels of the S7, they are still considered rare, exotic supercars. Still a cool car though.
  20. Ethiopian food = oxymoron. What "kinds" of food is it?? Comparable to anything we would know of (Chinese for instance). Might check it out if it's the kind of food I like, since I like spicey food.
  21. I haven't touched it since dumping the coolant out of the motor and pulling the plugs. I was without electric for part of the time I could look at it, was out of town for several days, and bad weather my other days I could work on it. Hopefully I'll mess with it Wed. and Thurs. this week. I'll see if I can crank it over by hand; if so I'll pull the intake and then go from there.
  22. Yawn, everyone and their brother (and I bet if I go back, probably everyone posting in here) made many more comments than I ever did about the glowing Escort. But now that he joined the military, the reference to it is now taboo.
  23. Yuck. That car just looks boring, and it's supposed to be a CHARGER. The Charger is what Petty steped out of, but IMO the K-car Chargers of the 80's were more exciting than this sedan. It's probably heavy as fawk too, and I'm going to bet not any sort of stellar performer.
  24. 4 months isn't all that old. I haven't seen that video posted here at least.....sure would be a fun truck to make money with. smile.gif
