  1. So that wasn't you I saw the other day. Don't remember where, but about a week ago I saw a really clean 5.7L yellow GTO. Sorry you had to sell it, but I'm betting it was the right thing to do for your long term financial goals. I'd still have my S4 otherwise too. If I still had the S4, I definitely would not be paying off my student loans in 2 months.
  2. Lol, that's exactly why I posted it. I can semi understand the reactions reading the wiki, but I saw the picture first and though the same thing (WTF does that do for me). I was never very good at chemistry, it just never clicked. One of the guys in my fraternity's favorite toys was his element building set. I think he ended up going to get his grad/PHD in the field.
  3. Good on ya. Not credit card debt, but I'll have my student loans paid off in December and I'm debt free at that point!:bangbang:
  4. I can say I'm really excited about the eco boost engines in general. There should be a ton of them around eventually and be much cheaper than any numbers mentioned here so far. I'm really excited for some reason about the next ranger (rumored to have the 1.6L eco boost, ~180hp/180tq).
  5. I'm just comparing apples to apples. That and I was responding specifically to space ghost who,he was talking about the awd version and said they were the same price. Even using the rwd version the BMW is still much more expensive than the sho.

  8. Try $5,130 less. Let's break that down in case 5 large isn't a big amount. Base for the 2010 335i x drive sedan (least expensive AWD 335) is $42,300. Base for the 2010 Taurus SHO is $37,170. The Taurus SHO is only $2320 more expensive than the BMW 328xi. Much less than the price difference from the SHO to the 335xi. That's a little more apples to apples (price wise). The BMW 335xi is 14% more expensive than the SHO. On a 4 year payment plan at 5% the payment (just using some round numbers for comparison) on the BMW is $974/mth, over $100 more than the show at $856/mth. I'm not saying which one I would rather like or is better (whether you talk about price or not), but it's a little more than dishonest to say cars that are separated by 5 thousand dollars cost the same. I've heard some really good things about the interior and drive characteristics of the SHO. I've heard equally discouraging things about the brakes on the 335 as I have the SHO, both woefully under braked for the speeds and size of the vehicles.
  9. I wonder if I can keep losing in such craptacular fashion? Good job Diana, sorry I couldn't stick around to see it.
  10. Mom's got a RAV4 V6 4WD and it scoots for what it is (3200lbs, ~250hp IIRC). I'd dare say it has too much power, an engine in between the 2.4 and 3.5 for that car would be perfect (neglecting towing or gvwr). It rides very nice. I got around 25-26mpg coming back from Florida (except for in the mountains). I really like the size, stance and driver position/feeling it it overall. The FJ and RAV4 are completely different vehicles. I like the FJ, but I'd only suggest it if you're going to off road or tow. Truck chassis are only better than a car/unibody chassis (apples to apples) in a few areas that most drivers are rarely if every going to use. For at least 95% of people from a ride/use perspective only, then RAV4 is going to be a much better car for them.
  11. Hope they are ok. Any updates on those hurt?
  12. Epic. It's ok Greg, we understand you and Howard needed a weekend away.
  13. Time to get out of there. Sounds like you are living there with no rental aggrement, place that she owns (and can change the rules at any moment). If this is the case, do the following. Find another place to live, don't tell them or anyone who might talk to them that you are doing this. Sounds like she's crazy and if she finds out you are moving out might get pissed and kick you out, change her mind about something else (like the rent cost). Maybe she'll get pissed and decide she doesn't want your bike in the garage one day while you are there and decide to move it for you (and drop it). Anyways, I'd get the fuck out of their as quickly and discreetly as possible. It's almost winter, find a friends to sit your bike, or a small amount of room from someone on here to rent from.
  14. Saw the videos of their test out in the desert (1st stage I think), pretty wicked. They are out there on the tubes if you search. Edit: Eric beat me to it. Sounds like you've probably seen them too, but maybe other people will want to watch.
  15. When I was down there this summer they were still talking about it like it was live and well. We need to figure out if there is water there (in useable amounts) way before we go back there. 2020 is probably optimistic considering that (I think) they haven't even launched one of the next gen rockets that will take us back to the moon and possible Mars yet.
  16. Less of a waste of money than moding an S4. I can only joke with you about this because trying to have a serious conversation with anyone who's short sighted enough to see space exploration as a 'waste of money' is 'waste of time'. I'll at least explain why they are trying to find water on the moon. You need water (usually lots of it compared to whatever you are putting out) to produce things. Things like rocket fuel. Water efficiency in fuel production is actually a pretty big deal even here on earth (some fuels and methods use A LOT more than other). Rocket fuel makes rockets go, in case you were wondering. So we send a rocket up to the moon and use the fuel we've produced there, on a base we have on the moon (which can exist there in part thanks to the water there) to jump off to Mars and beyond. Much easier to get off of the moon than the earth thanks to the 1/8g there, so you use less fuel getting off and more of it getting there (accelerating to get there faster) and back. This is all assuming there is water down in the moon (which hopefully this will help us to find out). http://gizmodo.com/5376774/how-to-watch-the-moon-bombing-in-real-time They say you need a 10" telescope to see it, which is hardly average. I hear the average is around 6". But hey, maybe your telescope is larger than 10", more power to you. I'm not ashamed to say mine is definitely not, so I'll be watching it on NASA TV. They do have links on there of places you can watch it. I'm getting up early tomorrow to watch it. I'd give half of my left nut to be at the Cape in 2020 to watch man take off to return to the moon (doing so for the first time in my life). Space dork out.
  17. I don't get it. Is that swing missing a nut?
  18. Just got back from sushi ting. Ummmmm. Very good and really reasonable priced as far as sushi goes. Don't know if it's local just responding to the sushi stuff.
  19. The OP never complained about lag. He complained about HD picture quality which is known to be craptastic due to their standard of over compression of those feeds to save bandwidth.
  20. Good BBQ? I want to find a good BBQ place around here.
  21. I guess it was some guy who's a pro racer with something like six titles. Can't remember the name. It's actually a two wheel streamliner. They had to have less than 3mph sidewinds to run. I will definitely go out there at some point.
