  1. It's well known that they compress the shit out of their HD channels and they look like crap to anyone who's critical of picture quality. So it's not just your setup.
  2. So that tells us where you meat people... But how do you meat people?
  3. Who the fuck told you that? I'm going to guess not a lawyer (at least not a competent one and/or not one in this type of law). First, that statement is NEVER true. You can sue for anything, even if it has no legal standing. And it will go through at least some kind of hearings. Rules for civil court are a lot different than criminal court. You probably can't sue them (end up getting money) for letting you go since Ohio is an at will employment state. Everyone here is talking about compensation for getting hurt and needing to go into a different field (retrain).
  4. And they should have insurance for this type of thing. To the OP. I remember reading some stories from you about other people getting (almost?) seriously hurt or almost killed. NO job is unsafe, the job practices are unsafe. Any job can be safe (relatively speaking) if you have a the right training and procedures in place. You go seriously hurt and from the sounds of it I doubt they are taking it seriously. Not taking that seriously is going to kill someone. That's a shitty company that does not care about their workers or people in general more than their bottom line, not matter how you cut it. Don't feel sorry for them for expecting you to work in unsafe conditions/with unsafe procedures and not caring about you.
  5. Fucking sissy needing the heat already. I've never had a deposit for utilities.
  6. http://www.southparkstudios.com/guide/1109/ The SI unit for crap is a Couric (as in the size of Katie Couric).
  7. First of congrats to the the Buckeye Bullet II team. They shatered the record for hydrogen fuel celled powered vehicles in bonneville last week with a 302 MPH run. My understanding is that the students worked very, very hard to make this happen in almost literally the 59th minute of the 11th hour. http://www.buckeyebullet.com/ http://blog.buckeyebullet.com/2009/09/record.html There was a new record set for bikes at, IIRC 368MPH. I also learned about this http://www.bloodhoundssc.com/ It's the same guys who did the Thrust SSC (current land speed record holder at 760mph). It has a V8 to pump the fuel for the rocket and their target is 1000mph or around 30% faster than the current record held by their old car.
  8. From numerous things I've read from him on here I've gathered it's his dad's. I also think he's able to drive it often? I haven't seen him say as much (maybe he has and I just haven't read it). I stated this in another thread of his (talking about which cars to get) and as far as I know he never responded to it. I was simply trying to help him out in that thread because everyone thought he had GTR money and were pointing him at much more expensive cars than what he was asking about.
  9. This thread is about locally owned places you mouth breather.
  10. You must be inbred. That's the only logical explanation I can think of.
  11. Depends on what your definition of scary is. I grew up on the west side so it's not scary to me, but it may be to someone reading this thread. Regardless i'm not going to suggest anyone go there at night simply for the car breaking into factor. Spaghetti warehouse is really close to downtown and more isolated from the negihborhoods around there.
  12. Lemon Grass (self proclaimed fusion bistro), all's I know is that it's good. http://www.lemongrassfusion.com/
  13. Best Italian in town. Their handmade spaghetti & meatballs is incredible. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/33/370958/restaurant/Franklinton/Florentine-Columbus Be forewarned, it's in the Bottom's but more than worth it. I just don't suggest going there when it's dark out.
  14. Really good local bakery. http://www.mozartscafe.com/
  15. This should keep you busy! http://www.dineoriginalscolumbus.com/database/columbusdays.php
  16. While not a restaruant still local and the BEST ice cream you can get anywhere, Jeni's. http://jenisicecreams.com/ Katzingers is the best Deli around! http://www.katzingers.com/ North Star Cafe is really good! http://www.thenorthstarcafe.com/ Link to Starliner Dinner. http://starlinerdiner.com/ Barley's Brew House http://barleysbrewing.com/ Go on a Friday, it's Firkin Friday's. They do a beer with no preservatives served out of small batches at cellar temperature. I think they usually do a small keg and once it's gone it's gone! The one in grandview is a smoke house and has excellent pulled pork, chicken, and beef briquette. The Elevator http://www.elevatorbrewing.com/ Most amazing place I've ever eaten. I cry a little inside every time I go in there and look at the stained glass angle, it's seriously moving to me for some reason... or maybe that's the beer. Get the Rock Fillet with the house salad (has candied almonds, nix the blue cheese unless you like that crap) with a Bleeding Buckeye Red Ale. I'm a fat man at heart so I'll post more as I remember them. Support local shit! Damn it I'm hungry now.
  17. Dude, I have more in my TV & HT right now than my DD is worth. I love me some good movies with a good picture and sound. I usually like to sit a little lower than middle height. Middle height feels too far back to me, screen doesn't take up enough of your vision. Usually first row of the second set of seats is about perfect. There's that bar there to keep the speds from falling that 6 inches to the death since there aren't seats in front of that row. You can put your feet up on that and jump over/under to go piss if the movie is packed. I will say I only usually show up that early for opening night/weekend. And the movie matters if I give a shit about where I sit. For example while slightly annoyed I couldn't sit in the middle it was only for a bout two seconds last night while going to watch the Ugly Truth....
  18. Another interesting chart from that site... fuck the Bush's http://www.visualizingeconomics.com/2006/08/15/average-income-in-the-united-states/ Hmmm, looks kind of like a stabilizing population graph recently.. little scarry.
  19. Hmm, not going to talk on here about what I make compared to that. But me and the g/f got raises this year so we beat the change. While I think the median paints a better picture, I find it funny what those numbers would look like if it were the mean. Anyone ever seen a distribution chart on house hold income? Asking because I think it would be interesting to see. http://www.visualizingeconomics.com/2006/11/05/2005-us-income-distribution/ Hmm, that's not quite as skewed as I thought it would be.
  20. I'd definitely get there earlier unless you want everyone to sit by themselves scattered all over the theater (mostly in the first three rows). I usually try to get to movies like that 30-45 minutes early.
  21. I <3 steep and cheap. Have you seen their other sites Ben? They have other ones like that for other crap (bike, ski, etc). Google chrome home page. Before i just recently switched to it from Fire Fox I used google.com/ig and still use it often.
