  1. Your uncle is a god among men. It takes a certain person who's extremely gifted mentally and physically, then years of training on top of some more crazy to even want to do something like that. Those guys with the wussy bikes have to push them sometimes, doesn't sound like fun. But yeah, running it is bananas. Is he doing the 350 or the 1100? What's his name, I'll probably read in on it every few days so it would be cool to follow how he's doing. I guess people have been hitting some bad weather. Bad relative to up there in the winter which means conditions that most people would cry about and curl up into a little ball to die.
  2. Not really compared to these people. This race is happening right now. http://www.alaskaultrasport.com/latest_news.html
  3. Howard doesn't have a basement... that I know of.
  4. I was trying to get opinions on the Fit and get other possible options, this thread is serving both. So thanks, leave it open.
  5. No, I just want something that makes sense for what I use a car for and also makes as much economical sense as possible while at the same time being newer and not having to fix shit on it all of the time. You're just not getting what I'm saying. I've realized that I don't need a certain car or truck to make me a 'man'. I guess that's what you need, I feel sorry for you. I feel really sorry for any girl that gets the displeasure of you trying to please her while you are trying to get it up and can't because of your lack of a new truck.
  6. Not the least bit interested in the Insight. I think the current Civic is a great car for it's segment, although I don't think it's for me. We have a Civic Hybrid as a fleet car and I HATE that car for so many reasons. If the system in the Insight is anything like it I would never suggest anyone to own one of those. The Insight and the Prius don't even come close to hitting the mark for what I want out of a car. I'm not overly concerned about gas mileage, but If I'm going to buy something new I might as well get something that gets good gas mileage. You can fit shit in Hybrids because of the fact that the back seat doesn't fold down and their trunks are tiny.
  7. Actually I'll go drive it. I don't like the looks as much as the older ones, but it's ok. It's worth going to drive to see how I like it.
  8. If I was within 10-15 miles from work I'd probably bike at least a few days a week, and that's why I'm not fat... well I kind of am for myself right now but that's beside the point... it's winter weight dammit.
  9. I've done a car that gets 23mpg average using premium for the last 5 years. During winter (also driving to mad river every Saturday) I've had months were I spent $500-$600 on gas. Not just a month, but months. It seemed more than completely ass backwards to spend more a month on gas than my car payment was. Have fun with that.
  10. You paid more LESS than that new, no thank you.
  11. 09's the major model change and it's much better in that regard. I have no delusions about the ride quality, it is an econobox, but it is much better than the 08's and before.
  12. Don't need one now, but if I get one it will probably be in the next month or two. Don't want to wait until later this year for sure. Got my s4 through Byers, definitely a mixed experience but enough happened on the negative side that I don't think I will go back.
  13. Base or sport? Miles? Color? How much? Come on! You make 167k/year, can't you just give it to me?
  14. Mini-van would take away my man card. Nothing wrong with that if it's what you need, but you better have 3 kids and 2 big dogs to transport. We have an Odyssey at work and it's about the most boring vehicle I've ever driven. The car doesn't have to be a beast in any area as this is something for transportation that makes sense for what I use a car for. But it doesn't make any sense for it to be boring either. A mini-van would be extreme overkill for what I use a car for. And they are relatively expensive, and don't get that good of gas mileage because of their size. I think you missed most of the points of what I was looking for in a car. Oh, in case anyone was wondering why I'm that worried about gas mileage, I drive 37 miles one way to work. The Mazda 3 is an ok compassion, I will probably go drive one just for due diligence sake. I can't compare the interior or ride since I've never drive one. But I think on versatility of interior the Fit wins out. Also gets significantly worse gas mileage, but I'm sure has a bit more pickup because of it.
  15. Whateva, whateva, I do what I want! I have no idea why that came into my head. Don't really get the 'gay' car thing, unless it's all purple or has rainbows on it.... They are actually pretty fun to drive and seem like they have a ton of 'options' for the price, and would work really well for me.
  16. Thinking about a Honda Fit. It's got enough pick up, pretty nice inside, plenty of room for people, stuff (skis, bikes, camping gear, sleeping if need be), good price, good gas mileage, relatively fun to drive. Anyone have one, pros/cons? Think you could fit a bike in the back w/o taking the front wheel off? Any other suggestions? I know it doesn't match what most people here would have as their first choice. I just want a new daily that works with my 'lifestyle', doesn't break the bank, and should be dead nuts reliable for a while.
  17. Isn't that a little old for you?
  18. Blast from the past. How goes it?
  19. Wait, they are selling them already? n/m, saw your post. Do you know when they are supposed to show up on show room floors for test drives? I'm really interested in driving one of them.
  20. That will usually only take care of a small amount of moisture on the walls. Think about something on the level of moisture condensing on a glass from the temp diffs. Something you do as a 'just in case', it will not take care of water coming in.
  21. Come on, I really do have more faith in you guys than this. You just have to prove it to me. See above post.
  22. Come on John, do you really think the politics section got closed because people decided this isn't the place to talk politics or that the section was getting 'out of hand'? Stupid right wing nut jobs got but hurt that the 'Muslim' won the election.
  23. Weird, never seen that kind before. At least I will know to look out for them now.
