  1. You still live in the same place? If so, Jesus you are lazier than I though. Now, my parents place with ~100yds worth of drive way, sure. Your driveway is about 4-6 cars footprints worth of snow. Buck it up and put some muscles on that skinny ass of yours and shovel your way out the 4 times a year it snows enough to matter. Or pay the local kids 15 bucks to shovel it.
  2. I'm pretty sure if there were some sort of catastrophic event that ended this world as we know it and sent us back to the primeval ages, so to speak, those in shape would have a much better chance of surviving. Especially within the first few hours, days, months. Eventually everyone would adapt (or die). If it were such a situation where you would need to be fit, the situation would probably make you fit. But that doesn't happen right away. They are lots of people that can't make it up a (few) set(s) of steps without being out of breath. You don't have to look/be fat for that to happen either. I do agree that there are lots of other pieces to the equation, luck not the very least being one of them. But being able to hike 10 miles with 50 lbs on your back or run a few miles is going to go a long way... no pun intended. If you don't understand why you may need to do those things in such a situation, I would highly question your abilities in situational awareness. The armed forces doesn't expect a base level of physical ability, then teach you to run/get you in shape for nothing. Fast means almost nothing. Fast is only in short burst for everyone but Olympic level 800m, 1600m runners, crazy Ethiopians running marathon's. Being in shape, IMHO, has more to do with physical stamina than anything else.
  3. Haha, that brings up a good point. How many here would be in good enough shape to even deal with this sort of situation? If you started running, how far could you get, even outside of town? How about even just walking with your gear on (and some of these heavy riffles and pistols)? Not saying anything stereotyping people here, just that people in general are really out of shape. Better start training if you think that the zombie infestation is near or all of the guns in the world won't do you any good. :bangbang:
  4. I'm up in northern butt fucked middle of nowhere Minnesota right now. We just got hit by some weather.... maybe that same front? It started yesterday afternoon and was done snowing sometime last night. Forecast was possibly 7-15 inches with up to 45mph winds. Winds were pretty bad so the drifts were bad. It's hard to say how much we actually got, but I bet it wasn't even 7 inches. I guess we got the northern edge of it and down south of here got hit worse. BUT, it's cold here right now. High is -6 today with a low of -24 with a wind chill of around -40. :zoom: If it's the same one, it's a strong storm. Went to sleep to the wind howling past my window. People on a mountain bike forum I'm on (lots of them ski too) were watching this batch form up near Alaska knowing it was going to come and bring cold weather and lots of snow.
  5. Scott. I'm going to make a few frames for pictures my g/f's grandfather painted over my Christmas break. These are the first frames I've done although I've done other similar wood working before. After I see how these turn out I'd be more than happy to do something for you if you'd like. You can also look at how mine turn out before we decide anything. I'd be doing this for fun, when I have time so I'd have no set time table I'd have it done. Winter's are pretty busy for me. Upside is I'd only charge you for materials, or you can buy them yourself since I'd consider it an honor to make a case for something like that... and the fact that I'm not a professional. I understand if you want something done by a professional, and sooner. Just let me know.
  6. I had some money (relatively small amount) saved up so I didn't do shit for a few months. Moved back home with my parents... I went to school somewhere that you don't live during the summer so this was fairly normal. Enjoyed the summer with my friends. Let myself be on cloud nine for a little while. I was seriously walking on clouds for the first few weeks after I graduated. Probably more so from the feeling of being done than the accomplishment. Enjoy it for a little while. Beer dried up my money so I went back to waiting tables at the same place I had worked before while I looked for a job in my field. Went out to CO for a week to hike with Science Abuse. Finally found a job around September (graduated in early May). Start looking for a job now/as soon as you get out of school if you haven't already. Depending on the field, especially with today's economic climate, finding a job can take a while. But like others said, if you can live comfortable doing whatever you are going to do, don't stress over finding a job (at first at least).
  7. I only need one. http://www.2dayblog.com/images/2007/july/largest_revolver_1.jpg This is an interesting conversation. Thought I think the premis behind which it could happen is a bit flawed. I don't think think gun rights would ever erode that much. IF gun rights were to erode that much, they (the man, the government, Exxon, Dick Cheney etc) would probably just try to ban guns all together. I only thought it was moon bat evangelical right wingers who talked about the 'end of days' like it was real?
  8. You trying to relay here what's happening to a car being described to you over the phone by someone who (probably) doesn't know much about cars is probably going to get you nowhere fast. Go check the car out for yourself and see what it's doing. But also do what some of these other people said too (check voltage at the starter). And what Kenny said below.
  9. http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/ADVG/383~Austin-Powers-Posters.jpg Honestly, who throws a shoe?
  10. I searched, couldn't find anything. at the snow flake pic. No, that sweater with that snow flake is way way more cool than Berto's. Berto's was something your grandma would knit for you.
  11. Old school, you wouldn't know son.... One of the first times alot of us were out together, right around the inception of CR, Berto (RX7dood on here) wore this sweather out with a gigantic snow flake on the front of it. Pretty sweet sweater. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?p=106765&highlight=krome#post106765
  12. SSMafia's sweater is Berto snowflake-esque. NO sweater can ever match Berto's though.
  13. It just sounds like you don't like interacting with people at all.
  14. Thanks for noticing. What grill is that? I rear ended someone. So need a new bumper/grill. Just doing a stock bumper because the rs4 about 1k more than a stock one. But grills are about the same so thinking about getting something different than stock. You still have your stock bumper or did you buy the car like that?
  15. And you like to suck penis. But no one really wants to hear about that either. I also enjoy a social networking environment on a daily basis. It's called real life, you should try it out sometime.
  16. Pretty dumb 'game' if you ask me. Looks like SIMS from the late 90's or something.
  17. We need an indoor go-kart track again. Drinking+go karts=win
  18. I just read what PS Home is all about. That's some dumb shit. Does it do anything useful? XNE actually works better, looks better, is faster, and adds functionality.
  19. How old are we talking? My dad has a 98 f250 (first year for that style) and it doesn't have cruise.
  20. Maybe if you read it and knew what the fuck you were talking about it would make sense. If you really have an interest in this, read that article, it's good. I could cite numerous other articles that actually have science behind them. How about something from THX, would that be good enough?
  21. Agreed. He's just spewing something he heard and doesn't understand what's actually going on. http://www.audioholics.com/education/display-formats-technology/1080p-and-the-acuity-of-human-vision/
  22. Not necessarily the low price, but the overall instability. I don't really get how this 1 commodity can be this unstable.
  23. I did an internship for them back in 97 or 98. I was going to suggest them also. It's always nice to support local business when you can.
