Lol, maybe... maybe Joe can chime in. I don't care that much. I do have WOW, but have an HD box so it doesn't really matter that much. Maybe if I were at home I could test it, but I'm not. Hmm, looked a little more and I guess they do have to provide those channels. I had just read that WOW didn't at some point in the past... I think.

Hunh... Cable companies, as far as I understand, are required to send digital (HD??) channels over their lines using QAM which is a form of modulation (hence the M). It's basically 1 way to 'compress' and 'decompress' the signal. Some TV's have QAM tuners built into them. Some cable companies (IIRC Timer Warner, but not WOW) send the channels you can normally get OTA without any encryption. So you can get 'basic cable', hook it up to your tv with a QAM tuner and get your basic/analog/SD channels PLUS those HD channels. SD/analog terestial/OTA brodcast=NTSC HD/digital terestial/OTA brodcast=ATCS HD/digital via cable=QAM Unencrypted QAM is commonly refereed to as Clear QAM

Everyon, this is NOT true. In the middle of doing my taxes. They have you enter it in because if you didn't get it for some reason you may be able to get it now. Hope Not Brian reads this because it looks like one of the things that may allow you to get it now is if you didn't get it last year because you were serving overseas. I just entered mine in (the full $600) and it changed NOTHING. If it did change something, you need to check your tax return stuff because you are getting hosed.

IDK, maybe he 'can't' make a 'main stream' movie and should stick to making fucked up and amazing movies that lose money. I am a little worried whether it will really feel like one of his movies. But he's also making Robo Cop and a movie called The Fighter which sounds like a main stream movie too. Here's to hoping he can make some good normal movies. :bangbang:

Wholly shit... So I caught the other day that Darren Aronofsky directed and produced The Wrestler, which pretty much means I have to go see it.... But he's doing a reboot of Robo Cop!!!! Due out in 2010. I haven't been this excited about a movie in a long long time.

Yup, I saw the eSATA port on the back when I was rearranging everything the other day. But from what I understand the SW (cable company specific?) still has to be able to use the external HD... not sure about that. I just looked it up and I have the same one, at least by looks. Not at home so I can't check it.

We have WOW DVR. Hard drive is relatively small. We run into storage issues pretty often. We record a moderate amount, but 1/2 of it's in HD which is 1/2 of the 'problem'. I really need to figure out whether this box is one you can do an external hard drive with. Have any idea about that? The interface isn't nice looking, but it works. Never had a problem with it. We have the 8MB down, whatever up. We do lots of streaming and get good speeds. Usually get full resolution on the 360 using Netflix.

FYI for anyone thinking about UVerse and will get HD, they compress the fuck out of their HD channels. Everyone does but they are the worst offenders.

Maybe put it in savings. I'm saving to pay off my student loans and what I typically get would knock ~1month off at the rate I'm currently saving. So pay off in October instead of November.
