FS: Power Acoustics 4*90WRMS amp, $100 OBO
Trouble Maker replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Other Stuff
This piece of shit is still sitting on my floor in my room. Someone buy it so I can buy more rum when I'm down in the Bahamas. -
You almost just ruined my life long aspiration of marrying her. Sucks this movie was no good Eli. I purposefully rented the first one, remembering people saying it sucked, just because I wanted to go see this one. Sounds like this one wasn't any better.
-
Consider me jealous, I have to wait another two weeks to be down on the islands (Bahamas).

How big of a child do you think would fit in that cage? EDIT: The smaller one, carrier. I have some traveling to do.

house pets killing every other living thing!

A guy I work with said his friends (maybe roommates) Siberian husky came back with a deer leg the other day. Hearing that story, I think your cats will be ok with a little raccoon. -
Sorry Ben, didn't see this before. Roll is on Polaris also, so very easy to go to while you are checking out AGH. If you go east of 71 it will be a few blocks up on the North side of the street. I think it's pretty much across from where BW3's is IIRC. Right next to a Starbucks. They will actually let you take the bikes out on some dirt behind their place. I think it's also worth nothing that some local orignization (can't remeber at this moment) made new maps of Alum and, by the sponsorship of Roll and Subaru, were able to print off 10k of them to put at the trail heads! http://joinomba.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6164 http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=roll&near=Columbus,+OH&fb=1&ll=40.143551,-82.964716&spn=0.025884,0.040169&z=15&iwloc=A&om=1 Northland Cyclery is a few blocks north of Henderson on High on the East side of the road. http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=northland+cyclery&near=Columbus,+OH&fb=1&cid=0,0,3534810312922113792&z=17&iwloc=A&om=1 Everyone, FYI. Shawn told me he can't make it this Saturday, gota do some maintenance on the bike. I'll 95% still be going, but unless anyone post that they were going to go I'm not going to worry about showing at any particular time. If you still want to go post up and we can still do the same time, or something a little different if that works for you. Otherwise, get those bikes running and we should get a big group to go up some other time! :woowoo:

Ben, this might be a good thread to give you some ideas. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=308028 post #6 list about a dozen bikes in the price range you are talking about.

I thought ODB already had something like 15 illegitimate children? Congrats TJ! :woowoo:

STOP drinking and see what that does for you first.

A word about Teachers, and what they make..
Trouble Maker replied to Nate1647545505's topic in Pics and Vids
I'm going to invent a time machine. So I can go back in time and tell all of your teachers about this so they won't teach you anything. That would be awesome. Just sayin. -
Ride everything you think about getting, it might change your mind one way or the other.
-
Like I said the other day, bring the bike up when you come up if you fell you will have time and I will come out if I can. Otherwise, a few of us will have to take a trip down there. Maybe check out a few different trails. Looks like there's a ton around there.

^^ Agree with what he said about "If you do not do downhill racing, massive stunts, or have a bad back, you should get a hard tail for the same price." There's a lot that goes into what FS bike you want to get than you would think. The good ones have some crazy linkage and designs. They try to design them to minimize pedal bob (the suspension moving while you are pedaling) as it reduces your efficiency, but at the same time still have good travel. There's more to wear out, more to adjust. More crap to worry about. I have an 'entry level' real/good hard tail bike. I honestly was very surprised with what it could do. You are talking about spending twice as much as I did. With the front fork you'll get on a hard tail for 1k and the geometry you will get, it will be a very competent bike. A really good FS bike will cost more than 1k... bike's can get ridiculous. They have their merits, but I would really have to feel a need for a FS bike to justify it. I couldn't see a need for it around here. Do a ton of research before you buy. You still have a lot to learn I think (no ofense, I'm still learning a ton). I did most of my initial research on http://www.mtbr.com I'm actually not on any local boards (including spoke junkies), just knew there was good info on the trails there. Shawn, I'll probably head up there then too. You've got a PM.

Giant Yukon. It almost made some of what I did on Saturday seem easy. I can't believe what a real mountain bike can do (and this is just a run of the mill hardtail). :woowoo:

Anyone here work at House of Japan (Tuttle)?
Trouble Maker replied to RedRocket1647545505's topic in Dumpster
Howard would moonlight as a chef there for about two days until a customer pissed him off enough to end up with one of those very large knives in their eye. -
I'd say my experience at A Gear Higher was solely based on me getting a noob i talked to. I wouldn't say it was as bad as Bike Source, but not great. I based whether I wanted to buy a bike off of a shop or whether I would suggest someone to them off of whether I knew more about bikes from the two weeks of research I had done than the person I was talking to. I definitely knew more than they guy I first talked to at A Gear Higher. The guy was nice enough though and seemed somewhat intelligent, just inexperienced and unknowledgeable (he was very young). He at one point directed me to a (seemingly) more experienced guy who was busy when I first walked in. But at this point I had already seen that they didn't really have much that I was interested in at the price point I wanted. Depending on who you get there you might have a different experience AND you might be wanting something a little different than me at a different price point. So I wouldn't say don't absolutely go there, there are just other places I would recommend before them, in my experience. I would highly suggest going to Roll or Northland Cyclery. I had very good experiences at both of those places. I bought a bike from Northland, and if I hadn't, I would have bought the same bike from Roll. I know Shawn's going to disagree with me though. Carl, someone else had mentioned to me they though you mountain biked. I almost called someone to get your #, but didn't think about it until I was driving there. Figured that would probably be too short of notice. It would be great if you had the time to come out next time.

Name a time... I work m-f 9-5. Way outside chance, but you don't happen to drive a yellow focus do you? I (try if I have time to) spin on Monday and Wednesdays and try to run one or two other days. I'll happily switch spinning out for a real ride. How's sometime on Saturday the 23rd or Sunday the 24th sound for everyone? Give people a few weeks if they need to get their bikes ready. I very well may go up next weekend too, if anyone wants to go. 23rd or 24th is just an idea for everyone to go. I'm out of town the next two weekends after that (30th, 1st and 7th, 8th).
-
I bet your not shitting anyone on how cool it is there for stuff like that.
-
Yesterday I took my (mountain) bike out for the first time. Had soooo much fun. That looks like a ton of fun too. I'll be having more fun on the water first week of next month. I'll post pics when I get back if I don't drink too much rum and forget how to use my camera.
-
You completely missed my point. Let me know if you need help shopping. I went to just about every shop in town checking out their selection and seeing if I liked the shops. I honestly don't know very much about the different bikes/components, but I think I got a really good feel for which shops I would ever buy anything from and which shops I wouldn't buy a $10 part from even if I knew they were losing money on it.
-
Yes you do! It would be good to see you again regardless man.

Can I go if I'm a regular member, or do I need to be a senior member, or a veteran member, or do I need to have a purple CR heart to go? At which level am I allowed to go?
