I also heard they couldn't do the project type lights in a flip up because of the space they take and how they work. Functionality >> looks in that case. Drive a car on a regular basis with HID projectors and you'll never want to go back.

Well considering the only difference between his car and a GVR4 is the body I doubt he would want one of those if he doesn't like the reliability of his current car.

Yeah, I read further down in that thread after I posted where someone said that. Hence why I said "I'm now sure you saw this", but I guess that was a stretch to imply that's what I meant. smile.gif Let me find out if he's willing to deal on the whole car, if it is one, first. I'll let you know if I'm going ahead with it or not ASAP.

I'm assuming this is a 93-94 tranny because of the rear end he is offering. Ben, I believe the 90 tranny and t-case are different. So you could use this one but you would need the t-case too. Check these threads. http://www.columbusdsm.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3023 http://www.columbusdsm.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5780 I'm now sure you saw this, but figured I'd say something again so you get what you need. Let me get with him and see if we can work something out, but I'm in no huge rush to get these parts now, or ever. I'd be more than happy to bow out of this process so you can get the parts you need to get the beast running.

It better not smell anymore! Awesome, I'll be there with you on Saturday night bud. graemlins/thumb.gif

Everything for a manual swap for a 92. I'd prefer a 4 bolt rear and definitely a 91 and up tranny. Do you know if I need the drive shaft? What else I need: Shifter Assembly, Shifter Boot, Shifter Cables, Cable Hold downs and Firewall Gasket, Brake and Clutch Pedal assembly, Clutch Fluid Line, Flywheel, and Flywheel to Crankshaft bolts (some of these I might buy new, obviously some I won't). I'll buy new: Clutch Master, Clutch Assembly, , and Clutch Slave. Hell, are these just coming off of some parts car you have or are these individual parts laying around. If it's a whole parts car, lets talk about the whole thing that might be easier. I might do the 'big brakes' because I'm doing those (my brakes) right now. I would need for that: 2-piston calipers, hub-to-caliper mounting brackets, proportioning valve from 93-94 car. ABS or non-abs car? I might get the few lines and stuff needed to make my car a non-abs car. Those would be: Non-ABS Proportioning Valve, Non-ABS front brake lines, Non-ABS Master Cylinder to proportioning valve lines. I know it's a huge list, it'd prob. be easier for us to talk over the phone about this I think. If your in agreement, just let me know and I’ll shoot you a PM with my #. TIA.

WTF mate? What happened DJ?

A guy being able to shove his head up own ass would be impressive. That doesn't mean it's something that I would support or want to be associated with. Just from reading that brief synopsis that you posted, they are to far to the right (to far either way is bad) and far to brash to be good for this country. Do you want the party you support to align with your ideals perfectly or to be able to do the best for this country as a whole?

I'm afraid to say I feel that I'm in that boat right now. I don't feel necessarily that I'm throwing my vote away if I vote for someone who will not get elected if it's who I'd really like to see. My problem is, there's on candidate I think is all right, and one I DO NOT want to see in office. I feel that this will be a very tight race in between the two major parties. I don't want to vote for the other one, just because I don't want the bad guy to win, but I just might end up doing just that. I guess it's an issue of how much of and ideologist or realist do I want to be? Ideally I would vote for whomever I thought was best, regardless if they were just my next-door neighbor or someone who was in a 'contending' third party. Also, I feel that if I do my contribution to vote for a third party, it might help them, and all third parties, in the long run. I can't tell you how the much a bi-partisan system disgusts me, and I believe is the root cause of some of our 'problems' that I believe we have right now. Realistically, as a pessimist, I can sit here and say, will a third ever gain enough steam to even fathom competing? Even if a third party becomes an honest contender, what's to say that they won't nock one of the other two parties out and the system will be a bi-partisan system again? Or even more realistically, it will just be a messed up three party system with a redheaded stepchild third party stuck in the middle of the other two? Would a three major party system just have the same problems, to maybe a lesser or greater degree, as a two party system? I guess it's more of these things that I have to maul over than it is whom I'm going to vote for due to their platforms. redface.gif

Umm, that party sounds crazy (literally borderline insane) for modern societal standards in this country. It DOES NOT sound like they are fully 'pro-constitutionalism', and it DOES sound like they would have to bend the constitution to uphold some of their standards *cough* anit-homosexual rights *cough*. I really like some of the things the libertarian party is saying, but I need to look into them, and other parties more before I even come close to deciding on whom I'm going to vote for.

He did, even though he's dead wrong, now get off of the computer and go finish your room and drink some more before you have to start classes.

Just a frinedly reminder to drive safe this holiday weekend!

Yeah, imho that policy is pretty graemlins/gay.gif but I won't be asking for trouble walking around with an open beer can either. -

Lol, yes, definitely. I'll probably drive down to OSU and won't drink that much (have to have a beer or two tailgating)... BUT the bachelor part is up in Ada, I went to ONU, hence Tony’s funny, but utterly accurate statement. We do have ONE grocery store, one drive through, and another convince store you can get beer and bad liquor at. A mere 15 minutes away towards Lima is Daryl and Daryl’s on SR-309, where you can get real liquor. The town is small enough that you can walk anywhere you need to, especially when you're drunk. My car will be firmly parked back at the house. graemlins/thumb.gif -
I haven't seen too many cops yet, but I'm sure there will be this afternoon or tomorrow. Always have the increased amount of traffic, and drunk drivers and the roads are just less safe. Be careful out there this weekend; don't want to hear about any wrecks or tickets. Other than that, have fun! I'll get drunk for all of you a time or two this weekend for sure. Going to OSU game Saturday, then Saturday night is a buddy’s bachelor party up at the school I graduated from.

No, I think it's cool they broke a record and they are obviously innovating. Every car has to work within its class rules. Does that mean that these cars, or a pro stock car, are slow because there are rail cars that run 4's? No. I'm not going to whine to you about displacement or FWD, because it would just that, whining, and you know why these cars run what they do and not faster. I just think it's cool to see records broken and innovation, where ever it may be. To downgrade this because X class does the same times this does, but you feel it better, for whatever reason, is kind of silly. I also think it’s cool that they can even figure out how to get enough traction out of any FWD car to run that quick of an ET, it’s pretty crazy if you think about it.
-
Awesome, like I had said before, those cars look like it would be a cool car to drive, with tons of room. Congrats on it finally coming. 8 weeks doesn't seem like that bad of a wait, but I'm sure it felt like forever. You'll have to give us an update after a few months of how it's holding up and how you like it after the initial 'I just got a new car' shock wears off. graemlins/thumb.gif

No, not one bit, you ricer. "What did da five fingas say to da face?" graemlins/slap.gif !!! I wasn't defending Bill when I said the rest either, which it seems as how you took it. I was just saying you'd know typing that is futile if you've meet him before.

Funny, they did that at my High School. Can't remember if it was the year before I graduated or the year I did graduate.

I'll be taking my friend around town that's coming in to go to the game with my on Sat. We will definitely be swinging by so I can buy you a round or two. graemlins/thumb.gif

You're bashing a car that ran a 7.594 at 189. In a FWD car to boot, traction issues cause many, many more problems. You are the definition of stupid. [ 31. August 2004, 11:08 AM: Message edited by: Neo ]

It's probably a design compromise between what you, grandpa, the teenybopper and the soccer mom considers 'right'. That doesn’t surprise me at all with the Cobalt, but I’m surprised to see you say this is the case on the CTS-V. Probably just GM mental retardation (I’m not bashing GM, every very large car company really).

Do you guys even realize how much he loves all of this attention?
-
No, if you really think she should do that you should tell her that but not 'make' her do anything. If you feel that she should be doing things to ward of his advancements, texting him back, calling him and telling him she's not interested, while showing you she is doing this, tell her that. If you really do think she should be doing those things, simply tell her that, see how she reacts and see if she does it. Some girls like to make guys jealous (they want attention, and not just girls, guys too, people in general), she can't do that with this situation if she were to have put off his advancements and shown you that she did that. If you say, 'I want you to call him while I'm sitting here', she might, and probably will just do it to satisfy that simply need for you right there and then. Fighting him would be futile, and might lead to what some of these guys are saying (her feeling sorry for him). Take care of the situation with your girl first. Then tell him to get the hell out of both of your lives. If he doesn't, keeps harassing her, and you, then kick his ass.
