+1, I wore contacts for the most part anyways. The biggest thing for me with my laser eye surgery is not having to wear contacts that dry out while I'm skiing, or bother me when sweat drips into my eyes while I'm running. Waking up in the morning and being able to see is a huge thing too. It is a very fine line though. I agree with almost everyone in this thread though, you should probably see a shrink, especially if you are able to admit that you have an addiction to it. I hope the doctor that you saw before was more than just a surgeon. A huge part of being a doctor, imho, and in the opinions of a few of my friends who are in med school, is being able to treat the patient as a person. Procedures like this have huge, permanent, psychological implications that need to be fully explored on a person-to-person basis before anything is done. Unfortunately not all people, doctors and patients, think that way. I'm fine with the way I look, but if I were going to have anything done like this I would think long and hard, and if I were still considering it at that point, I would go see a professional to speak with them about how it might effect me to make sure I'm looking at the situation clearly.

I will also highly suggest a rear projection unit if you have the room for it and the patience to set it up right. I haven't done a ton of research into any because I'm so far off from buying a house right now, but what little I have done is at http://www.projectorcentral.com/ Alot of good info there. I'm not a fan of the primary TV in the room being super large, or a widescreen. I have a 27" TV that, when I get a projector, I will more than likely continue to use for regular TV viewing. If I don't use that I will get a larger tube based TV. But that's just my opinion on what I would like. The main thing I'd be watching on a projector would be movies, playing video games, and the occasional sports event. I'd probably get two screens, or just settle for smaller 4:3 programming. Not saying you would be disappointed, I've heard great things about DLP front projectors. I just think the money could be better spent on a rear projector, esp. if you have a nice, decent sized tube TV to watch programming you don't (I wouldn't) want a large TV for. Like the news, most regular TV programs. I don't think if you are looking to spend $2-3K you should spend less on a rear projector because it's cheaper, the picture quality might not be as good. But I can bet if you spend that money on a projector and a nice screen, you will have a far better picture and a bigger screen, less room taken up in your abode. my $.02

That's badass, congrats on the times. What's the record for a stock turbo car?

Agreeing with people who make stupid, ignorant, statements in turn makes you look stupid and ignorant.

What does it look like? Here's a link to a place up in Akron called ECS Tuning. They carry different bypass valves for Audi's (or whatever, this just happens to be what the Audi/VW guys use). I ordered and need to put on two of the Stock TT valves (710N's). They are supposed to be very robust, the diaphragms in the stock ones like to tear. They also have a forged one that is self-serviceable, but there are people running very fast, reliably with the 710N, and it's ALOT cheaper. IIRC per the articles below the 710N has quicker transients, not super important if you’re an auto and/or belt driven super charger, but could effect a manual turbo drastically. That probably won’t matter as much to you at any rate. People also say you have to service the forged ones, grease them up every once in a while. Here are two articles with some good, quantitative and qualitative, info about the different valves. http://www.s4biturbo.com/art-dvtests.shtml http://www.s4biturbo.com/art-dvtests2.shtml Don’t know if this is the ‘style’ you need or not, but hope it helps you a little bit. People at work said this morning said that he announced over the air that he will be going with SIRIS. You saying that it will sway your purchase is exactly why they were talking about it, a few people put in buys on their online trading stuff this morning before they opened the market up. I listen to the Blitz when 101.1 or 107.1 have a song on I don't care for or are in a commercial.

God one can only hope. My 4 stations I listen to get cut down to 2 in the morning because of shity talk radio. http://science.howstuffworks.com/question39.htm There is a short explanation as to why the sky is blue. There is no rational explanation in any science that could explain why people listen to shity talk radio.

Are those the places that have big ball for the sign, or they used to? Earlier today I was trying to remember what gas station used to be where this Brewesters is now near my house. That name clicked something back in my memories about it.

No, I'm not sure if that article says it or not because I didn’t read it. But another one posted here about a while ago along the same lines did. There is a minimum for the fines then the scale would start to slide up after you make X dollars. e.g. a 15mph over speeding ticket would cost at a minimum $100, everyone that makes over $50,000 would pay=$100+y*($50,000-Gross on tax form last year).

I was assuming the winters there were much, much worse than here. I've heard that from other people too, that's very surprising.

You'd need your 'Ls' and a car to be able to come out to meets for that to even be probable. Why are you on this site, to argue and make yourself look like a douche bag? Just asking because I haven't seen on constructive post from you, and I've only seen a couple that have anything to do with cars period.

No, that was a homo, which is not a pirate. Pirates are straight, they get raunchy (female) hookers every time they come into port. Pirates kill all impersonators on the spot and don't even care, kind of like ninjas, only more badass. Your lucky a real pirate didn't come by when you had those hats on.
-
I never claimed to be a pirate, but I know one when I see one, and you two are NOT pirates. Seriously, pirates wear eye patches, you had them sitting there and didn't use them. For shame. graemlins/slap.gif

Fake ass wana-be pirates not wearing readily available eye patches and not making their own swords.

Although those are badass, he seems like he wants something much newer than that. I don't know much about the different trucks and SUV's but I know you do. Why don't you suggest something new(er) he could get in his price range in AWD. Also Silent God, please don't take any offense to this, but how are you going to be able to afford this (and insurance for alot of these cars)? Just wondering, if you, or your parents are well off, that’s fine. I just remember you posting about something a few days ago that looked like a get rich quick scheme and am worried that you are putting the cart in front of the horses.
-
Obviously this is just someone’s own rendering of how they might like the car to look. Is there even anything solid on the rumor mill of GM re-releasing this car again or is this just some more wishful thinking?

When one searches right now they have to choose which forum they want to search. Sometimes I only remember the fact that a tread existed and can't remember which forum it was in. Or I know a person made a post I want to go back and read, but it wasn't within their last 50 post, but again I can't remember which forum it was in. This makes it very hard to find and the search function much less useful in that case.

Aren't you in Colorado right now too, making a RWD car hard to drive half of the year, especially if it's a high-powered one? Just kind of wondering, if this is the case, why you are leaning more towards a RWD instead of looking hard into some more AWD cars.

Weaksauce, they aren't real pirates. This thread is too damn funny.
