  1. Whelp, it runs now. I kept it running for a minute or two with starter fluid and burnt off enough oil/warmed it up enough for it to run on it's own. Ran it for another minute or two and all of the smoke is gone. Just started it up a second time and it runs great. Anyone know where to get an air filter for this thing, preferable a place with decent prices (I could see 'lawn mower' places overcharging for things like this)? The filter has oil in it now so I'd like to replace it. I'm assuming the spark plug is fine now. Thanks!
  2. This is how it acts as of now. I tried a few times but didn't want to keep trying thinking it might damage it more than it allready may have. Could the carb have oil in it? Why did the oil come out in the first place?
  3. This is a John Deer self propelled lawn mower using a 6.5HP Brigs & Stratton motor. Oil is separate from the gas. Well it all started off pretty simple. The belt for the self-propelling portion of the lawnmower broke. I went and got a new belt and put it on. When I put it on I cranked the blade to get it all of the way on because I couldn't get enough slack in the spring of the the self-propelled 'gear box' to get it on all of the way. When I did that some fluid came out of the thing (it was upside down at this time). I had previously drained it of fuel by flipping it upside down and holding it above the gas can (couldn't find a hose to siphon). Because of this I was kind of confused but figured it was just something weird that happened. After that I tried to start the thing and it would crank but not start. Tried a few more times and it kind of seized up, couldn't crank anymore. Took the air filter off and it had oil on it?? I tried to find some starting fluid, which I couldn't find so I decided to take the plug out and see what it looked like, covered in oil. I now think to myself, that fluid that came out earlier was oil. I cranked it over a few times with the plug out and a paper towel over the spark plug hole to see how much oil came out. I flipped the paper towel over a few times until I saw no more fluid coming out. Put it back in and tried to crank again, nothing and it seized up again after a few cranks, only to sort of depressurize itself after half a minute or so. I went to the auto-parts store today and got a new spark plug and starting fluid. I forgot the old spark plug so the guy at the counter guessed as best he could but I still got the wrong one. I then came back and tried to use starting fluid to start it. I can start it with starting fluid but it smokes ALOT (looks and smells like oil). It starts to die and the smoke goes away for a split second, then it dies all of the way. I can get it to start like this all day long (tried three times) then it just dies. Can anyone guess as to what I did? I believe at any rate the motor is bad now so I will need to be getting it rebuilt. Anyone around here know how to rebuild lawn mower motors? Yeah, it sounds like I did something retarded. Us dumb people have to make mistakes every once in a while or people might start to get us counfsed with the smart ones. tongue.gif TIA, sorry it was long, trying to be as descriptive as possible. Maybe this could be my very first engine rebuilding experience!
  4. That's pretty damn cool. graemlins/thumb.gif
  5. Lol, cool, makes sense now.
  6. So a car that is going to be selling next year steals styling cues from a current concept car?
  7. So, what is this magical show about? You've really piqued my interest about this show I know absolutely nothing about, not even the name of it.
  8. For analog cable the channel selection is better but the guide isn't as good for wow as compared to Time Warner. I notice no difference in speed, but more reliability with wow. The guys who came out didn't even use the old wiring that Time Warner had put in because they said it was so shitty. The install they did was much, much better and they were much more professional. The 'bad' wiring is one of the main things I contribute the increased reliability of the cable modem to. It was also much less expensive, I think to the tune of ~$100 for Time Warner and ~$70 for wow. So overall a better service for much less. I've been very pleased since my parents switched. It's what I'll be getting, if it's available, when I move out in October.
  9. Do the brodcast the movies sound over the airwaves or something?
  10. Obviously none of you have seen The Bridges of Madison County.
  11. There were alot of CTS-V's they had up there to show off last weekend so it is very possible it was one of thoes. There were plenty of regular CTS's there too but I'm sure anyone willing to go through the effort would probably try for the CTS-V. They defintely are bad ass cars. That story is too funny, do tell more info if you find anything out.
  12. As far as I've heard they couldn't put the HIDs w/projectors in a flip up housing.
  13. As Rotary Jihad said I was there. The whole weekend was very cool. Personally the funnest race of the weekend to watch was the Speed TV GT series. Usually the World Challenge guys are out there fighting tooth and nail but this year that award goes to the GT series. As would be expected the LeMans cars were a cool race. I think everyone was sitting in the Esses at some point, the only person I noticed there was Matt. I can third or forth or fifth, not sure which one, the fact that anyone at some point needs to go to a race up here. Just about any race is fun to go to but if you pick one out that you really like you'll be hooked. Unfortunately the Vintage weekend has past already this year or I'd suggest that for first timers (even though I didn't make it to that one this year), you get to see a lot of cool cars up there from what I've heard and read. Super bike weekend is good one too. I can all most guarantee you will want to go back the next year for some race once you go your first time. graemlins/thumb.gif
  14. I saw one on the Westside earlier this week that was a bright pink (horrible paint job, rear bumper paint peeling) with at least 20" at least 100 spoke 'daytons' with the 'bullet' center covers. Worst looking car I've ever seen. Makes that car look like a gem.
  15. I played the front 9 at Hover on Sunday. I meet two of my friends there and was going to play the whole thing but someone threw an egg at my car the night before so I wanted to get home to wash it off! graemlins/finger.gif They have a new 9 which I guess is wooded too. graemlins/thumb.gif I like the course overall from what I played. Much better than the Dublin course, which is the only other course in Columbus I have played.
  16. +1, A guy at work the other day was talking about getting rid of his DSM and GVR4 and getting a 2000(1?) hard top, manual, C5. He said he found one with a moderate amount of miles locally for $22k! 2000-2002 S4 (although the newer will be more expensive than that). 2001 BMW M Coupe.
  17. Who in the hell thinks she's a 4? graemlins/puke.gif That's hallarious and you guys are all slow.
  18. Good looking!! Where in the hell did Marc and Ricky get their looks from then? tongue.gif
  19. This. quote: I'm moving on to another car as I want to gain experience with other types of cars. .... Like I said, I'm open to offers, but I'm not really set on letting it go right now. Then this. quote: I'm looking at buying another car, but the seller hasn't decided what they want to ask for it, so my selling price, depends on theirs. I'll let all interested people know once I find out what they want for it. Then finally this. quote: It didn't (sell) I was looking at buying a MINT 90 Stang GT vert with 19k miles, but the lady wouldn't sell it Reading compression owns you DragKnee66. You also obviously don't know what you are talking about. The only 1gDSM's (even flip up head light ones) you will find in the $1kish range WILL look beat up at the very least. Sometimes they won't run quite right either but I know people who have picked up perfectly mechanically sound ones in that range, but they look like shit. Even if they run good their maintenance history is sketchy at best. This is one of the more wanted time periods for DSM PERIOD. Only thing that might be ‘better’ is when they went to the bigger brakes in 93, but those have 7 bolts which a lot of people shy away from. If you can find one like this for that much go buy it and sell it because it's worth way more than that. Not only that but the urban legend of the great car deal will happen once in a blue moon, but it's the average thing that happens, not what has happened once in history that really matters in this case. You know that theoretically under special relativity for a very split second a basketball that was sitting next to you could be out in the hallway! About the same as this car going for $1k. Let the guy sell his car. If no one bites for whatever he happens to want then so be it. Sorry for cluttering up the thread even more.

Bwwhahahahah. First time I've seen it. Funny stuff.
  22. The kid didn't get hurt right? The kid made out like a bandit, he's only 4 years old and won't remember this when he's 16 and sell's the autographed baseball for a car or when he's 18 and sell's it to pay for his schooling. That dude is a douche bag though.
  23. Especially not an early 92 (4 bolt rear, 6 bolt main), they are very 'wanted' cars.
