  2. Lol. It'd be funny as hell if they got their asses kicked by the all girl team. Your friend (and everyone on the team) would never be able to live that down.

    job question

Well said. It's obviously just my opinion but I don't think it's selling out to dress how some place wants you to dress for a job. For me selling out for a job is morally or ethically doing something one doesn't think they should do. It's a job and you should have fun doing it. But if it makes you sad when your lip piercing is out and people can't see your tattoos there are some deeper-seated issues there. Dress however you want during the times your not at work. It's also not just about pay, it's about flexibility to do what you want to do as far as a job. My job now after I finished school is honestly one of the least stressful jobs I've had, one of the best and most fun groups of people I've worked with, and I have one of the best bosses I've ever had. I won't say I didn't get lucky with all of those, but if I didn't like where I worked or what I was doing I could just look for another job. The likely hood of me getting said possible job looking 'normal' is much higher than if I had lots of body modifications done. I'm sure she'd also like to use her two degrees she has which is alot less likely to happen if she doesn't sacrifice the way she looks. But I do agree that you should look at if it's worth it to you to sacrifice that.

    job question

If yourself is defined by your pericings and tattos you have other issues. Get over your reblious stage and do what punkrocker3_00 says. Go make some money, that's the bottom line (or I don't think you'd be posting this).

It's Wednesday June the 16th 1:30PM and Michigan still sucks.
  6. Thanks for the heads up. That's fairly close to where I live but I usually don't head up that way too often, but still a good thing to know.

That's really sad, I'm sorry to hear about that. Some of the self-righteous people around here could learn alot from this.
  8. Lol, yes, I did misinterpret because of the smiley used. And on your second point, I definitely agree! This actually sucks because this means one of two things. Either my car(s) will be even slower compared to the new cars or I will have to mod more just to keep up with newer stock cars. or depending on which way one looks at it.
  9. You know, it's really great that you caught those but it would have been even better if you would have gotten the joke.
  10. It's on Columbus DSM which has been up and down the last few days due to moving servers. It's down as of right now.

  12. Pool halls are too expensive, a bar with a few pool tables is what I like best but unfortunately you're not 21 yet. Pool halls are just anoying becuase they usually charge you per person on the table who's playing. So if you have 6 people they charge you $X per hour for every person. That's usually in the range of ~$1.50-$3 too! Some pool halls will have a few quarter tables too but that's not all ways a given and they are usually the smaller tables.
  13. Eric, I tried to explain to you what the issue with these cars is and how easy it is to fix but you kept interrupting me so I just quit. If you read my post and had any idea what a cap is you wouldn't have said "super heating wires". If you knew that much about a lot of other cars you'd also know that it does happen for different reasons in many other cars. You have small mans syndrome about your car and it shows oh too well, give it a rest. I'm not trying to say these cars don't have their issues but everyone (even people who own them) often blow them out of proportion and often the problems are due to people not knowing quite what they are doing or being cheap about fixing things (or lack thereof). Every car has it's quirks that often show themselves, this is one of them. It should be fixed on every one of these cars before it even shows symptoms and can be fixed easily. This is also a very well documented problem and shows the same symptoms all most ever time. If they are paid attention to and the person knows what's up, it's a $2 and a few hours worth of work fix. Unfortunately for Ben this is just a hard learning experience about these cars. I read everything I could before I bought my car and I continue to learn as much about it as possible. Ben, go read everything on www.vfaq.com if you plan to keep the car. The very first link in the electrical section is on the ECU Cap replacement.
  14. I could think of a few better ways to end my life if I really wanted to other than drinking and going riding on a bike.
  15. Quiet posting unless you now the difference between down and done. tongue.gif
  16. Definitely agreed for the most part. I'm not crying out for the rights of people who do these things. People who do things like this; terrorist acts, killing innocent people, etc. have willingly thrown away any 'god given' rights they had from their birth up to that point. I'm just saying people should not be able to be held indefinitely without trial. I could theoretically be called an 'spies, saboteurs and agents' at any point and throw in Jail indefinitely without trial per the Patriot Act as I understand it. That is what I don't agree with. We can't just 'say' they were planing something/part of a terrorist network and hold them for life. Good post SlowZ06.
  17. Probably because most DSM owners are cheap and it never got fixed right. That's the main reason why they get a bad wrap. IIRC the rods are very strong in our cars, people will put forged pistons before they touch their rods. There was probably something else other than a 'huge' increase in power at work with that car. Ben, did your wiring harness get burn up at all? If not then it shouldn't be that bad, just get a 'new' ECU (~100, 150, I picked up a TCU for $75). Make sure you replace the caps before you put it back in this time!!! Yes, this is a very common problem with DSM but is fairly easy to fix if you catch it before it's gotten too out of control. A few bucks in caps and your good for another 10+ years (if you use 105C caps you should be good forever). I've never heard of cars burning up because of this, smoking from around the dash area and taking out the ECU, yes, but that's about it. The cars (and in my case transmission) usually show serious 'problems' before it ever gets that bad. My TCU was working intermittently and when it would work the transmission goes into limp mode and I only had third gear (serious issue trying to drive around Columbus). The cars usually start running really funny and you hear massive amounts of clicking from the dash area with the ECU. Sorry to hear about your luck with the car.
  18. I've been predicting this happening in sports cars period in the near future for a while now. We are in the midst of the beginning of some exciting times folks.
  19. You could wake up tommrow morning and be put in jail for life without a trial and no one could do anything about it.
  20. At least this person is actually being charged with something in this instance unlike many others. Under the Patriot Act people can be held indefinitely without being charged if they are alleged enemy combatants. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? What happened to checks and balances?
  21. Desprado, is that going into your S-10? What kind of motor is that and basic specs of what you built it too (just wondering)? Oh, it's NAWZZ, especially when your talking about 'two big botles'. Get it right. graemlins/trout.gif
  22. No, two people (not me) said they thought the list was gay, not you. I said no such thing such thing so you wern't 'returning a favor'. Sorry if my post offended anyone, I can take anything as serious or as light hearted as I fell (plus I was bored at work).
  23. There's a cemetery, I believe from the civil war era perhaps even a war memorial cemetery. Never been in there but it's on the Westside of town on Sullivant Ave. just west of Hague Ave. Friends would all ways talk about it being haunted when I was growing up. Even if it's not haunted it looks like a cool historical place. There used to be an abandoned house that I went to with some friends around one Halloween further west off of Columbus. Off of a road that's right off of Alton-Darby Rd. I believe. I've been to a couple of places like this but never one that spooked me like that one did. I think it's since been torn down but I'll ask around.

For future reference. Frantz about half a mile south of Tuttle on the west side of the road in a shoping complex.
